The staff here are always tremendous always asking how you would like each dish prepared and the food will not disappoint. Not greasy and over cooked as a lot of places can be. Should you be in the area and in need of some quick food at a decent price, it's definitely worth stopping by.

The curry sets the taste-buds going, the salt chilli spare ribs have you reaching for a beer, the chicken chow main has plenty of chicken and the noodles are nice and soft, the Peking duck has the right blend for the sauce with no fat on the duck... I could go on and on and on, and if I lived above this place I'd be like the Michelin man. If this place was a sit-in restaurant it would do a roaring trade, plus delivery until 2a.m. on the weekend nights.

I was impressed with the clean interior of the takeaway and I liked the way you could see in to the kitchen. Also there was a comical sign on the window saying, 'Don't stand on the sofa or knock the window' - not sure what's gone on in the past but it was pretty quiet this evening. The food is fantastic and very reasonably prices. The honey chilli chicken could be the only meal I'd ever get to eat for the rest of my life and I think I'd be pretty ok with that. There's a huge selection of offers in terms of meals for 2/3 etc which really do give your superb value for money and if theres something on the set list you'd like to change, they are always happy to do so. Evey meal I've had from Essence has been tasty, fresh and exciting. In 3 years, mostly ordering 3 times a month, I have only ever had my order wrong twice, and it could have been my fault. The staff are very friendly including the chefs. The takeaway has a 5 star scores on the doors rating and is always very clean. The food is always large portions and great value for money, but more importantly the quality and taste is outstanding.
