I wasn't sure what to anticipate and as soon as I walked into the salon I was warmly welcomed and put at immediate ease with a inviting smile. Coming from California, at best I know some French words but Sarah speaks English well. Initially she spent time consulting with me and I shared photo of what I was looking for (I went from short length hair to a pixie cut). We comfortably discussed my needs and she was very attentive to understand and throughout checking along to ensure I was happy as we went along. My haircut was crafted expertly and extremely happy with the outcome. Sarah was so sweet, genuine and truly accommodating! Sarah brought me to the rear of the salon to the wash station room. She explained she wanted to create a relaxing and soothing experience while getting hair washed/conditioned. Dimmed lights with a visual slide show projection of tropical images to enhance the experience- totally cool. The shampoo wash and head massage was the best ever! Sarah expertly gave a lengthy head and neck massage and ended with a hot/warm head towel to further add to the experience. It was a real treat! The salon itself has a contemporary, a chic but yet warm design, immaculate. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly. I was brought a tray of bottled Vitell water/glass during my visit. Be prepared since they don't rush you out the door with a quick turnaround appointment. Its apparent service is important and taking care of you takes added time which was very evident to me. Salon is easy to find on a side street off the active (popular amongst tourists) Rue Saint Denis (2nd Ard) about a 15 min walk from the Louvre/Notre Dame. Nice area to explore and walk about. I left the Saravy Salon super pleased and must say it was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris! I've been coming to Paris for years and this was my first time getting a haircut. My only regret in writing this review is that it will spoil the surprise for you. :-) The process was as follows: 1. I was immediately whisked away for a oiled scalp massage. I almost fell asleep. It was heavenly. After the oil massage, she used two brushes to brush the oil throughout my hair. That felt heavenly too! 2. I was shampoo'd in a chair that lays flat while it massages my body. 3. During both the shampoo and conditioner - my head was massaged some more. Again, I could barely keep my eyes open. 4. With conditioner in my hair, I was put into a plastic shower cap, then wrapped in cellophane, and then put under dryer for 10 minutes. 5. After conditioner, I was rinsed again in massaging chair. 5. I was blow dried on high heat with a mini brush and rat tooth comb. Sounds crazy, but my hair was super straight in minutes. 6. The next step was very important. She put me under the dyer to let my scalp dry after being blow dried. Yes, she gets it. This is a very important step. 7. She flat ironed each piece straight while being careful not to straighten the ends as much as the roots. 8. I let her trim my hair. :-/. You know I hate this but it was much needed. She didn't ask - I asked her. I couldn't get a beautiful hairdo without allowing a full makeover - including my ends. 9. And lastly, she curled my hair with the steam pod by loreal. I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. No could hear the steam over my hair. But yet it sealed it and made it straight. Best total package hair salon experience ever! Merci!
