When you turn left from the highway, it is on the right side. It's not as big as what I am used to though. I used to the great big book stores like Books a Million or Barnes and Noble in Chattanooga. They need a lot more advanced coloring books than what they have in here. We called ahead of time and they said they only had 3 or 4. Even Walmart has a good quantity of these popular books.

I'm a huge lover of bookstores like this. I love to support independently and locally owned anything... but books are one of my favorite things so I'm pretty passionate about a local and independently owned bookstore. And by pretty passionate I mean way over the top, want to hug and kiss the owners, profess my undying love passionate. This little bookstore features a carefully selected mix of local authors and regionally highlighted books. It's sleek and airy and well lit. You'll also find notecards, postcards, poetry journals and a warm welcoming vibe here. Their logo though, is what really got me. A mermaid reading a book. Hello, adorable. If you fall in love with that logo as hard as I did, there are totes and tees printed with her on them for sale here as well. Sigh. Support this wonderful little place please!

Inside I was reminded of the old Tattered Cover bookstore in Denver CO, lots of nooks where books are shelved. They had an entire section of the store desecrated to Southern writers. I appreciated they labeled sections where they had books by one author (notably John Grisham has several shelves to himself).

The customer service was about average. The coffee shop was busy just about the whole time I was here. Everyone that worked here helpful but slow. The books and magazines are worth stopping by here. Some are hard to find at the big box stores because they don't sell them. One tip I would give is to sign up for their loyalty card. You can save money using the Books a Million card. It costs about $25 a year but you save on everything you buy here.

When I entered a sweet older gentleman approached us and said "Everytime you visit with your child, you get a free book." How awesome is that? I got her first Easter book that day. They have a variety of used books, and also new books, it was all so very affordable. I got 24 books for $23 (one we got for free). They even had the cutest little story time and play area for your little ones. It's a small locally owned bookstore, you can also donate your old books as well. Fyi: Follow their FB, they have story times and activity/craft day during the week, he also said that they have a puppy day that they'll have a dog there for the kids to pet. Also everytime you visit there's a punch card for a free book after your 7th visit. I mean how could you not want to come?!
