Specialties
My goal when seeing any patient, whether they are coming in for low back pain, low energy, digestive problems, hormonal imbalances or anything else, is to correct any problem with as little time and money spent as possible. Another desire is to teach each patient things they can do to better care for their unique bodies. I am a chiropractor that uses a special technique called Applied Kinesiology. In short, this means that I use 'muscle testing' to check out a number of things concerning the body and health to fully correct the problem. For example, if a patient complains of low energy, I would use muscle testing to check the most likely causes (anemia from a B12 deficiency, food sensitivities, under functioning citric acid cylcle, hypothyroidism, exhausted adrenal glands, toxic liver, and so on). If a patient has shoulder pain, I can use muscle testing to check the structural alignment of ligaments and bones. It is this kind of thorough approach that tells me exactly what is going on and exactly how to fix it.
History
Established in 2010.
My career began in Gainesville, where I spent my first year learning a great deal about the healing arts. However, something led me to Saint Augustine and I started my own practice in 2011. In six years, I feel like I have met the best people and am grateful to have a life here.
Meet the Business Owner: Jacob L.
My name is Dr. Jacob Liskowiak, and I entered this field for many reasons. I have encountered many health challenges in my life, and like many, I found that answers were hard to find. I usually stayed away from the medical route, but I saw how confusing that path could be. Still, I had this nagging sense that there were people who really knew how the body operates. I felt there is a logic to the body, and we can work with the body's intelligence to restore balance. I began my pursuit of this knowledge when I obtained a BS in Exercise Science and a minor in nutrition from the Miami University of Ohio. After a few years as a peronal and athletic trainer, I suddenly felt compelled to study chiropractic. I learned a great deal about the body, but I still wasn't satisfied. I studied yoga, Qi Gong, Reiki, meditation and anything else that reinforced my sense that the body can heal with the right care. But when I discovered Applied Kinesiology, I found what I had always wanted.
