He lets the patient actually be the driver of the decision-making process, not taking an attitude of "I know better." My knee replacement was as much of a breeze as a surgery can be - little pain, easy healing, steady progress, back on my way in the expected time with practically no complications. I don't hear that story from people who go to other surgeons... I appreciate his manner - he's no-nonsense, and asks direct questions to get direct answers, so that he can suggest options for care and treatment. He doesn't coddle or use euphemisms, which I appreciate - I hate being treated like I'm stupid! - and he takes seriously the symptoms and information I provide.
