I had a lower facelift and neck lift with Dr. Matt Goldschmidt on April 29, 2025, and almost a year…read morelater I am still dealing with the fallout. After surgery, I developed a seroma and have had severe pain, pressure, and ongoing issues that never should have been brushed off the way they were. I understand no surgery comes with guarantees, but there is a huge difference between a known complication and a doctor who does not meaningfully deal with it when it happens. What has been most disturbing to me is not just the outcome, it's how little accountability there has been. I spent nearly a year trying to handle this privately and reasonably. I asked for help. I asked for resolution. I asked for my records and contract. What did I get? Five photos and a letter basically telling me that he might consider a partial refund only if I removed my review and agreed not to say anything further. That told me everything I needed to know. At that point, it became very clear that Dr. Goldschmidt seemed far more concerned about his reputation and online reviews than about the actual patient sitting in front of him dealing with pain, complications, and a failed result. And yes, I am now looking at revision surgery elsewhere. That is not a small thing. This was not cheap. This was not minor. And this has affected me physically, emotionally, and financially for nearly a full year. Patients deserve to know when a doctor appears more focused on controlling reviews than taking real accountability when something goes wrong. If this is how complications are handled behind the scenes, I think that is deeply concerning, and I do have to wonder how many other patients have been treated this way after the fact. For context, I am including a photo of the written response I received after repeated attempts to resolve this matter. This review reflects my honest experience

Last April, I had a lift and augmentation with Dr. Goldschmidt, due to me not being happy with how they looked, and I am super happy with the results! This is your body, your temple! Why trust it in the hands of a mediocre surgeon?! Best believe, every single time, I went to the office, I was treated with kindness, and the utmost respect. Oh I almost forgot! I have to thank Dr. Goldschmidt and his staff, for not only taking REMARKABLY great care of me, but for also the flowers I woke up from surgery to! You guys are amazing! And I can't wait to see what else Dr. Goldschmidt will fix on me next! Thank you for always being good to me! You've gained a loyal, and LIFELONG patient! Just some really grateful Jen

I went to my scheduled 1 hour appointmenT that I literally waited 6 months to get. I got there 10 minutes early for my 8am and was the first appointment of the day. I didn't get called back until 8:39am! no apologies or explanation from the doctor or staff! I was back out in the lobby by 8:47am and done. I felt so disgusted by the lack of care and concern... total disregard for me as a human being!

I got an opening within 12 hrs of when I saw my GP, so I took it because it's a difficult specialty to get in with! So, I didn't have time to do a thorough research on her, which I do for any other doctor I see. Firstly, she was nearly an hour late. OK, that was annoying, but I understand shit happens. The MA or LPN, whomever took me back and did vitals was very short with me, and wouldn't let me talk without interrupting me and trying to correct me on what symptoms I was describing! When the doc came in, she did apologize for being late. Like I say, things happen, so the apology was nice. But her exam was minimal, and she seemed very dismissive of my pain. She told me that whatever was going on wasn't very severe and I shouldn't really worry about it, but just in case she was going to do some blood tests and xray. The blood tests came back normal (which she even said could happen even with disease states) and the xray showed minor problems. Well, long medical story short, she dismissed me and my pain. When I wrote to ask he what I can do, in the absence of abnormal test results she just told me to make an appointment, we can discuss further. I decided to research a new doc, and will have waited 5 months by the time I see the new doc. Not gonna waste my time or money on someone who didn't seem to care much at all about me.
