So very nice to have such a quality venue on the south side of town. Having been an event planner for many years, I know what to look (or look out for) in a venue. I assisted my friend with her daughter's wedding at Alexander House last weekend. Aaron and Sheena were very flexible and professional. My friends were at ease with the process from the very beginning of the planning, thanks to Aaron's calming demeanor. Everything was delivered as promised...with a smile. The hard-working staff never stopped smiling and were very professional and easy to work with. This is not a cookie cutter, you must do it our way venue. Very refreshing for south of I-285! The facility is very clean and well organized. The grounds are meticulously maintained. The food was very good for a wedding buffet and there was plenty. This beautiful Victorian style house is known to have been deeded to a descendant of Robert E. Lee in 1913 who was also one of the first Mayors of Stockbridge. Following him, one of his son's owned the home who also was one of Stockbridge's Mayors. This house stayed in the Lee family until Mrs. Mildred Lee passed away 1994. Charles and Lynda Dubbs, purchased the home in 1995. The house was in such poor condition when first purchased they immediately began an 18 month restoration of the home. They tried to retain as much of the original Victorian structure that they possibly could. In keeping with that intent, they furnished the house with graceful period antiques, beautiful chandeliers, original artwork, and lavish decorations. A 2,800 Sq. Ft. Ballroom with banquet buffet area was added in 2003.
