I was locked out of my home and called to see if they could help. I was told they were about 30 minutes away and that I would receive a call 10 minutes before they headed my direction. Before receiving any follow up call, I was able to get into my home on my own. I immediately called back as a courtesy to let them know they did not need to come out. At that point, I was told they were five minutes away and that I would still need to pay because they were already "here." This directly contradicted what I had been told earlier. During the same conversation, I was given multiple different timelines, first that they were five minutes away, then that they were ten minutes away, while also being told they were "already here." The conversation quickly became uncomfortable. The person I spoke with raised their voice in frustration and insisted I pay for a service I did not receive. When I pushed back respectfully and explained that I had called before being notified they were en route, he framed a 50 percent charge as a kindness. Wanting to end the tense exchange, I paid. I regret that decision. I feel sick knowing I paid for something I did not need or receive, especially when the situation was caused entirely by poor communication. This experience felt less like customer service and more like pressure. I cannot recommend this company. Clear communication and fairness matter, especially in stressful situations like being locked out of your home, and this experience fell short on both.

In Lansing, you just have to go downtown, to Hack's Key Shop. I lost the key to my motorcycle, stupid me. I looked all over for it, and finally gave up. I took a lock off my bike, went down to Hack's, and half an hour later I had a key (and copies!) that would let me ride again. It cost $20 for the first key, every key thereafter was a reasonable $4. Those are pretty good rates - this isn't the first time I've had to do something like this.
