Absolute Sh*t Show. Made an in-person appointment on 3/31, they advised $149 for ANY return was ending on Saturday, April 4. Booked at appointment for the 4th. Created an account and uploaded literally every possible document on 3/31. Received multiple confirmations, arrived a little early. Waited an hour for the solitary rep to finish with someone else. In her interview, he asked about business mileage, and she basically made up numbers off the top of her head. He never advised her that unless your mileage is WRITTEN, it is typically disallowed. He told a walk-in he was booked til 5pm, she made an appointment for 5pm. Finally got to the desk, and the rep was busy arguing via their internal messaging system to the new District Manager to place a hold on the previous lady's file because she didn't like the huge amount she was going to have to pay the IRS and left to find more documents. In not so many words, he made it seem like the policy from the new DM was to find any reason to disallow the $149 promo. Apparently, the DM actually told him to chase after her and get her to pay something before she left despite them not completing the file. Seems like a call to the DM would be faster, but that's apparently their system. When he finally pulled up my account and saw the documents, he said, "This is going to take several hours, I can't do this now." Nevermind the docs had been there for days; no pre-prep at all. You would think their system would alert them to documents or that someone might start working on the files ahead of time. Nope. He suggested I come back at 6pm. I reminded him that he just told someone he was booked until 5 and made her appointment at 5pm, so there's no way he would have this done by 6. He set the appointment anyway and said he hoped someone else would come into the office and help. I received more text confirmations including one changing the location from the Northtowne office to the Moultrie office. (Hour round-trip wasted.) I arrived at Moultrie just before 6pm and (again) a solitary rep looked puzzled when I said I had an appointment. Apparently, they switched offices and didn't advise her that I was coming, or that my files were uploaded. So, started from zero again. She busily tapped away on their internal messaging service (presumably to complain about being blindsided) until finally pulling up my account. She said she wasn't qualified to handle my file and it needed to transferred to a "T3" in Palatka, but they could do it as a "drop-off so I wouldn't have to come back into the office. Would've been nice to have known that option originally, but ok. Another hour round-trip wasted with gas at $4/gallon. Several days go by, no call, no email, no text. I call on 4/8 to the 800 number, wait 30 minutes to speak to someone, and he explains unless my taxes have already been filed, he has zero information and cannot help. He tried to transfer me to the Moultrie office, but they didn't answer, so he left a voicemail. Finally get a call back on 4/9. The same rep who passed me along to Palatka said that firstly, they couldn't honor the $149 promo because it expired on Saturday. I explained that the delay wasn't my doing, and they should honor the price. She said, well the second issue is that we're all really swamped, and we're not going to have time to do your taxes. I'm sorry, What?! A national tax preparer with 3 offices in St Augustine alone doesn't have time to do ONE tax return? Unreal. Needless to say, if I could negative stars, I absolutely would. By the way, IRS.gov has Free File options, you don't even need to buy tax software anymore, let alone go to a disorganized national tax preparer. Definitely would NOT recommend. read more

Would never recommend this office to anyone! The St Augustine office has had paperwork from us since February. They were missing paperwork and my husband complied with providing the office with the necessary forms and of February , early Msrch. Yesterday on 4/13 my husband was told our taxes would be completed by 3:30 Wednesday 4/15 . Today 4/14 he returned to the office and was told there was additional paperwork missing and they were too busy to complete his taxes and he should go elsewhere. He was also told our paperwork was lost and was never assigned to anyone in the office which is why our taxes were not completed earlier. My husband found the paperwork they needed returned to the office in hope if he quickly obtained the paperwork they would have time to complete our taxes. Mind you we initially turned in paperwork with this office in February. He was told at that visit today thst we are now refusing you service and you leave or we call the police. Upon leaving the office there were 3 police cars and officers. Hubby explained what happened in the office and told them he never yelled or used bad language and the officers told him he needed to leave because they were now refusing him service. My husband is 75 yrs ago. We used Jackson Hewitt a year ago. That office was near The Villages and service was exemplary. Never did we ever think this type of unprofessional service as well behavior would occur at a St Augustine Jackson Hewitt office. read more
