Not a true 1/8 mile but a great place to work on your 60ft. Way too overpriced for the track to be 500ft.

They charge extra on top of pit admission to race, which is more than other tracks so we planned on only going on event night. The intercom in the pits and pit stands does t work so drivers have trouble knowing what's going on. We were there last night and they supposedly had power issues. We spent 9 hours at this track and none of the feature races ran. When it did get cancelled at 1am, they didn't communicate with their drivers. The ones that bring them $$! And then refused to issue refunds or rain checks. Just off our family alone, they stole $150. Will never go back

I base my review of race tracks on parking, concessions, bathroom facilities and visibility of the racing surface. It gets high marks on all 4 of these. Since, I never been here, I had to ask for help from the Event staff on where to sit. They recommended the family grand stands. Anyway, I had no problem parking. I had to pay $1 to park in which they said was a donation to the fire department. So, no problem there. There was no line to park and got to my parking place with no problem. I also had no problem leaving. The concession stand was great with reasonable lines and could easily get my food and drink items quickly. They had reasonable prices and were friendly and took care of me. They do have bathroom facilities where you can wash your hands too. They get busy and I usually saw no lines. Best of all, I could see the whole track from where I sat at. I was able to see the race cars everywhere on the track including right in front of the grand stands. Furthermore, I recommend sitting in the family grand stands where no alcohol is allowed. These are the main grand stands on the right with the most seats as you walk in. The smaller grand stands on the left is for people who want to buy beer and watch the race. History: Jackson Motor Speedway opened in 1992 and is still in operation. It is located in Byram, Mississippi which is only a few miles South of Jackson. I used Interstate 55 to get to the track. I have been to 20 different race tracks in 6 different states. Some of these race tracks were in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee. In summary, I really enjoyed the races this weekend at the race track. If it had not been for the Yelp App, I wouldn't have known it was here nor been able to get here. I would highly recommend this race track to anyone. The parking, concessions, bathrooms and being able to visibly see the race cars go around the whole track were great.

This is my 35th different race track that I have been to in my lifetime. It began about 30 years…read moreago when I visited my first race track in Greenville, Mississippi. That race track was Greenville Speedway. If I had to guess, it was probably 1990 or 1991. I have been wanting to come here for a long time and finally got a chance to this weekend. Anyway, I pull in to this race track for the first time on March 19th, 2021. The first thing I noticed is that there is no visible sign located off the Highway at night. Secondly, I noticed the road leading up to the race track is bumpy and full of pot holes. The concession stand is slow and unorganized. No visible sign stating which is the entrance and which is the exit. Of course, I go in the "outdoor" as I figured it out by watching locals and regulars later. One tip I would give is to go to the concession stand early to avoid long lines. They have 2 or 3 intermissions every race I noticed, and that's when everyone goes to the concession stand. Altogether, I enjoyed going to this race track. It was very entertaining. They didn't have many cautions while I was here. I learned that when you go to a dirt track, cautions make the race longer. The race track is different from other race tracks. It seemed smaller. Not many people were here and the ones here - were not that friendly. I came here for the late models. Tonight, they had a special racing event for the pure streets. So, there were more pure street race cars here than late models. But, it didn't matter. I really enjoyed the races. Hours: This race track is open on Fridays. Gates and grandstands open around 5 pm or so. Hot laps are around 7pm and feature races start around 8pm usually.

They have races on Saturday nights. Anyway, I was able to see the whole race track from where I sat which was at the top of the bleachers. I found no problem about parking or leaving. I just pulled in and parked and ready to go, I just drove on out and left. So, no traffic problems. There can be a line at the concession stands. However, if you go early - there won't be. But, the later you go, a line forms as more and more come to the race track. The food I got here was delicious. I went two times. First, I got nachos and cheese and a Dr. Pepper. They put plenty of melted cheese on my nachos. In fact, they put too much cheese on it. So much, I didn't need all the cheese. I noticed others had too much cheese on theirs and they too- had didn't use all their cheese. Admission was only $12. They do bathroom facilities here with running water. They even had soap so you can wash your hands. There were no lines at the bathrooms that I saw. The races were entertaining. Looks like most race car drivers that come here know what they are doing because they were just a few cautions. The feature races started late about 9 or 10pm. The big race was over a little before 1am. So, I was tired but enjoyed the races and was glad I came.
