Great spot for children 10 and under in my humble opinion. I believe they could've done more on the "museum" aspect though. There is learning involved but it is very basic to me. Some of the stations don't explain how or what you are supposed to do. Other than that I would recommend as a fun little outing with the kids plus it's inexpensive.

Wonderful Visit to this Children's Museum in Jackson MS. My family had a blast for 4 straight hours. We drove up from the Gulf Coast and were so very happy with the fun we had. The New museum had everything two kids could want to include 3 floors of fun, boats, Farm life, Music, Art, Kitchen, Biology, History, and everything else. The on site food available was good. Free parking. Non-expensive admission price. BEST Children's Museum we've been to! Better than New York City, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Chattanooga, OKC, New Jersey and even our own on the MS Gulf Coast.

This is like kid wonderland. There are so many interesting things to do! It's not just fun, it's a great learning experience. The staff are very sweet, interacting, and helpful. There's a little restaurant inside if you get hungry. In my opinion the pizza is the best thing on the menu for lunch time. I will try the salads next time. They looked good. Overall this is a great place to bring your family.

Very cool place for kids,... but adults will adore it too. Hands on exhibits keep this place a viable and much needed attraction.

During an open morning in Jackson, we stumbled upon the museum and decided to explore and it was easily one of the most memorable parts of our trip. We started by being welcomed into the space. This museum intentionally documents the history of the civil rights museum specifically as it pertains to Mississippi. One of the docents shared that she volunteers at the museum because she remembers what it was like growing up in Mississippi as a white child and has committed her allyship to ensuring others can understand what she witnessed with a deep desire for a better future for Mississippi. It was amazing that there were other guests visiting the museum not just from other states like us, but from other countries as well! The true treat of the visit was stumbling upon the center of the museum, where the youngest freedom rider to every be imprisoned was speaking to a group of high school soccer players from Texas. He shared his story and how his activism started at such a young age. The high school students and myself were in awe of just his bravery and hearing what it was truly like to fight for what's right at such a young age. This museum tells an important story that sadly isn't over as the fight for equity and equality is never over. Yet, it's inspiring to know that there are committed individuals ensuring that in the deep South, these stories are documented and told for all those to honor and understand.

Fortunately, we were able to tag along on a tour by the museum director (Mr. Michael Moore). One…read moreword, "Wow". This was an amazing and uplifting experience to learn the stories of the civil rights movement in Jackson Mississippi. Please allow yourself ample time to take in the materia

Let me tell you, this gentleman is a wealth of information about this Hall of Fame. He is very passionate about all of the greats that have had their beginnings in this state. You pay $5, and then the tour starts with a video. In order to be inducted into this hall of fame, you must have been born in this state and gotten your start here. Mike then guided me through the highlights of the museum, it is very well organized. I am not a huge fan of sports, but I love to meet people who are excited about things, and this was a delight.

It is nicely done for a local facility and well worth the five dollar entry fee. There is a well produced introductory video and then the museum collection is thoughtfully broken up into thematic displays. We thought the experience could be enhanced by adding short audio or video clips, or more written word displays, with interesting or compelling stories about Hall of Fame members. For example, they have a section on Dizzy Dean and I recall hearing so amazing and colorful stories about his time in the major leagues and barnstorming during the off-season. A couple of these stories would help people who don't know about Dizzy Dean to get to know him better. Also, many of the Hall's members were involved in some amazing sports moments. It would be great to have short videos highlighting those exciting times.
