This was our second time visiting, and we experienced many of the same issues as our first visit. The table service was poor, with our meals arriving at different times. By the time the rest of our food arrived, the first group had already finished eating. We also had an issue with a dish that included bone marrow. The wait staff came back to confirm that we had ordered the dish with bone marrow, yet when it arrived, there was no bone marrow. This same issue happened during our first visit as well. We advised the wait staff about the problem, but the bone marrow was still never brought to our table. Throughout the meal, no one checked on us to see if we needed anything, including water refills. What made it more frustrating was watching other tables receive their food promptly while we continued waiting. The experience was disappointing, especially because it was my son's birthday and he was really looking forward to having the bone marrow. The food itself is good, but the service needs significant improvement. After having the same experience twice, I'm not sure we'll be returning.

Then 3 years ago I went island hopping in Hawaii, visited a luau and fell even more in love with the hula dance because the meaningful storytelling component was inspiring and beautiful. The dancers were mesmerizing and incredible--fluidly combining ancient and modern dance variations. I have never seen the hula dance like that since. After the luau, I headed to Waikiki market the next day and bought a hula skirt. Been intending to start ever since--but as with everything timing has to be right. I finally made it Today to Halau Na Pua Mai Ka Lani Nuioka--and I am officially in love with hula dance. Tristan and Chris are awesome and welcoming!! I adored that the meaning of the dance movement and Hawaiian words were discussed and proper form was underscored. Both Tristan and Chris were great historians! We will definitely be back.

They have many menu options ranging from preset poke bowls, to make your own, combo meals, and mini meals. Drinks are about $2.50 a piece, and a wide variety of Hawaiian Sun, casual soda. I was tempted to get the mini meal since I don't eat a lot, but I ultimately caved and decided to get the combo meal since I wanted to try the Kailua pork too. The verdict? The Kailua pork was a little too salty for me, it comes mixed with like cabbage or lettuce, and overall very mushy which I didn't mind. However the Chicken Katsu came with a bbq type sauce and everyone thought the sauce was delicious. My fiance ordered the bbq mix which included the bbq chicken, beef, and short ribs and I thought the beef was so yummy. The portion size was big. All the combos come with either 1-2 scoops of rice and macaroni salad. My meal was pretty perfect for 2 whole meals for me. I ate the katsu with my leftover rice for breakfast the next morning! The food comes in takeout containers which makes it very easy for you to take to go if you don't finish. I might have to come back and try the poke next time...

I went there for dinner on a weekday at around 6:30 and by 8pm it was starting to get busy. The food quantity is huge - I had enough to take home and have for two more meals. I ordered the half ribs and half beef - my only con is that it's very sweet, I needed some spice so when I went home I added jalapenos and heated it. They do have siracha tho if you'd like that.

What more can be said about this friendly neighborhood Polyn-Asian restaurant? The food is fair --…read moreroughly on par with your favorite local Chinese takeout spot -- but the food alone isn't really the reason you come here. Walking inside feels like stepping into a themed Disney or Times Square restaurant, just without the inflated prices, and that atmosphere adds a fun calming charm to the experience. You're probably not going to get a "knock your socks off" meal or world-class service and the cocktail menu can feel a little mysterious, filled with drinks you may or may not recognize. Still, no matter what you order, some fruity and alcoholic concoction will appear at your table, and chances are you'll enjoy it even if you're not entirely sure what it is. At the end of the day, it's just a great little spot -- perfect for birthdays, family dinners, kids, or simply a fun night out.

Honestly really cool interior, water falling over the rock walls and tiki huts for booths. Just once you get to the food it was underwhelming. The chicken in the lo mein had no flavor along with the chicken in the soups. Soups 4/10 The appetizer dumplings were good and had a nice grilled flavor with the insides and served with a yummy sauce. Dumplings 8/10 The complimentary wonton chips were nice to snack on while we waited. Chips 9/10 Then the entrees. Once again the chicken in the lo mein was bland and boiled. The pork lo mein was basic and not better than a take out spot. The flambie steak platter was insanely disappointing with what described as a filet mignon truly was a 2 ounce flank steak on top of a salad of over compensating bok choy to account for the lack of meat in a tangy sweet sauce. The other Hawaiian steak platter was also disappointing for other reasons. With this platter there was a whole steak served on a cast iron with bok choy all over, probably still compensating for the lack of steak on the other plate, but no flavor. The sauce this steak was served in had no flavor, the bok choy had no flavor, the other veggies had no flavor and the steak had no flavor. Lo meins 3/10 Steak dishes 2/10 Service 6/10 Food 3/10 Ambiance 8/10 Probably won't return.

In other words, it was all the same stuff you usually get at every breakfast buffet. Then one day we went for dinner and it was basically all the usual steakhouse type items. You had sandwiches, steak, prime rib, chicken etc. But again, the food really wasn't anything special. There are steakhouses that give more flavor and better cooked meals than here. Same goes for the sides, they were all mediocre at best. They all felt like they could be much better because there were flavors missing and the quality of the food just wasn't as good as many other places we've been to. The service overall was fine but nothing super special as it's expected. And the ambiance overall is good because it has that western steakhouse feel and the nice decorations you'd normally see at most steakhouses or western themed restaurants.

The omelet station was great and the staff so accommodating. My favorite was the Belgium waffle, yummy. The service wait staff kept the coffee flowing at an additional fee, good coffee noted. The mimosa was weak, bartender not sympathetic when mentioned at nine dollars. To sum it up, for the price, pleasant and roomy atmosphere to enjoy lingering on a Sunday, and efficient staff, yes I give this a positive rating. Check out the website, it is all encompassing to see if it meets what you are looking for.
