We stopped by Jacks after reading the reviews. It looks like a Jack in the Box but it's not. We came for breakfast and the drive through was super busy so we dined in. Place was clean and the servers were so pleasant, like everyone in Alabama seems to be. We had bacon(perfectly crisp) sausage & scrambled eggs (good) never had grits but they were pretty good, the biscuit and white gravy were excellent! We would come back. At first.... The chicken fingers were the bomb! 2012 or so.... Then this place consistently struggles with customer service and quality of food being served. The prices are higher and the food amounts smaller. My hubby likes the breakfast. They do make great biscuits. When a small town has limited space in good places to eat, this is wasted opportunity. To be fair, Covid did destroy a good amount of work attitude of the lazy population. Or I should say Covid just exposed the problem. But after awhile you don't want to hear excuses any more. We visited Jack's while we were in Red Bay Alabama. We were there for breakfast. The ladies who served us at the counter were incredibly nice. However, the coffee had absolutely no taste, the grits were liquid, the gravy out of a package and my dog wouldn't even eat the scrambled eggs. This tells me they were out of a package too because my dog loves eggs. Don't waste your time here. Go to Belmont to the Ole Country Store or Sparks Inn. read more

My husband and I went there. I had the cheesy bacon chicken wrap but with out the bacon and a shake called the chocolate fudge shake. I have to say I'm not sure what was bad but I have never been that sick. It was miserable. I will never go back to. read more

This Jacks charged me 1.59 for a order of gravy they never put in my to go bag. I should have checked, but tried to contact them by phone to get a refund. Every time I called it rolled over with a busy signal. Also as stated in a previous post the quality of the chicken dinners we ordered was below average. The chicken was dry and the sweet ice teas we ordered tasted old. The biscuit were the best thing on our order. AS for the service the person taking our order at the window sounded angry. My recommendation would be to stop by for breakfast only. We have had good results with their breakfast food. read more

This jacks has some of the laziest employees. The bathrooms are nasty. There's no toilet paper, no paper towels and human feces on the ground. They are always rude to the customers. They fight with the customers. Just for instance, I'll order a large milkshake, half cookies and cream and half strawberry. It pissed them off. They told me they could not do that. I told them every jacks I've ever been to does that she said well the jacks on West Main don't do it. I will never come back to thisjacks till these employees are gone and I know a bunch of other people to that will not come back to this jacks. read more

We are in redbay Alabama and and for the 1st time ever ate at a Jack's. Their number one here is definitely their chicken it's very good. I had the chicken fingers and the bone in both very good. Macaroni and cheese was good too. My husband had the Alabama white sauce burger, That he personally didn't care for. The restaurant itself is a eat in fast food service with tables to eat at.. My biggest complaint is the place looks picked up but is dirty. Not one table was wiped down after somebody else used it, the tile floor really needs a good scrubbing and if you look back in the kitchen it's just plain messy. It's too bad because their food is pretty good if anyone from Jacks is reading this.. Sanitation does not look good here especially during this time of covid. read more

Jack's was surprisingly good! As one of the other reviewers pointed out, there are not a whole lot of options in Red Bay. I am a snob when it comes to coffee, so many times it is bitter and oily at "fast food" type restaurants. The coffee was pretty good - obviously freshly brewed (we were at Jack's during breakfast). The food was good, better than average. We had the deluxe breakfast, with sausage. For about $4.50 the servings were more than ample! The sausage was seasoned nicely, the grits were good (I am usually not a fan, but their's were pretty good). If there was a negative , it was that the gravy was room temp. However, that might have been because there was some confusion with our order and it may have set longer than usual. We could have asked for a warm up, but with so much food we weren't probably going to eat it anyway (although I did taste it and it had good flavor). The employees were pleasant, even had a gal going around in the dining area topping off coffee for those of us drinking it. Another benefit, that we did not partake of since we were having breakfast, they have Blue Bell ice cream!! (Elizabeth Taylor and my husband's go to ice cream brand!) Would I go back? Sure would - and probably will while in Red Bay getting our Tiffin rig serviced. read more

Wow! Excellent lunch from here today. We purchased the Chicken tender snack boxes plenty of tenders n fries for a quick lunch. Contrary to other posts nothing was salty or greasy. Sorry no pics devoured all of it ! Burger was fresh and tasty as well. read more

Good food, fast service. The green beans are to die for! I would just go there for the green beans. This local fast food joint is busy at lunchtime due to the RV manufacturing businesses in town so if you are flexible make your stop after 12:30 for lunch and you won't have to fight the crowds. They serve breakfast too but we didn't get there early enough to try their chicken biscuits. Maybe next time! I enjoyed the chicken finger dinner with fries and green beans ( did I mention I LOVED the green beans?) and a biscuit. Reasonably priced, good, fast food. My husband had a burger and fries. He said it was very good. The drive through seemed to stay busy and they were very efficient at serving the walk in customers. The dining room was clean and well kept which says a lot considering the volume of customers they had served while we were there. Very impressed. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. To start off we sat down to eat and a drop from a leak landed right on my plate. We moved tables and it happened again. I then go to open my mac and cheese container and find barely two spoonfuls of it in there! I didn't want to complain so I ordered a large side to compensate for barely getting any the first time. I waited to eat it with my meal but it got to the point where my food was already cold. I decided to go ahead and finish the rest of my meal, and still no mac and cheese. As I begin to get up and walk towards the door, I FINALLY get handed my order! While I was there, I also noticed a man order a cheeseburger. Once he got it, he realized it had no cheese. It's fast food place. So take that into account. Seems to be one of my father-in-law's favorite places. So decided to give a shot... more than a few times =). Just about every item is a bit on the salty side. Just expect that and you'll know what you are getting into. For breakfast, I really enjoy the biscuits & gravy. For lunch, I usually go with the chicken strips or burgers. As a minority, I was delightfully pleased with the kindness that the staff showed toward me. This was one of the first places I visited during my first trip to Alabama. So I wasn't sure what to expect. But everyone I met was so kind & helpful. It's a tiny city, so it seems like everyone knows each other. I recommend trying their shakes/malts. I was instantly enthralled by the strawberry one. If you need a quick bite, try Jack's. read more

Fast food done right! We had breakfast at Jack's two mornings in a row. While it is fast food, everything was hot, tasty, and priced right. The biscuit and gravy is better than Cracker Barrel. Bacon has a good flavor and was properly cooked. I now want to try Jack's for lunch! read more

This is a fast food chain, not a locally-owned restaurant. That said, the biscuits and sausage gravy were fairly tasty, bacon was crisp, and the scrambled eggs passable. The price was right - two full breakfast meals and coffee for about $12. Reviews are relative, so while I would not eat at a place like this in my hometown, Jack's is one of the best options available in Red Bay. read more

Giving one star because this establishment's A/C works well and it is a cool respite from the summer heat. The food was mediocre at best. At least our burgers were warm. Someone sitting across from us said his chicken was cold which matched the attitude of the employees. When I mentioned the catsup container was empty I got "whaaat?" I repeated the statement but got no acknowledgement much less a "thank you." I realize Red Bay has few choices but after this visit I believe it has one less - at least for us. read more
