LIVES UP TO THE NAME! Buc-ee's has an instant fan in me. The Texas City location is right off the…read moreinterstate, on the way to Houston from Galveston. It's a popular stop for affordable gas, iconic Texan brisket, and cute beaver merch. I appreciated the vast selection of snacks and treats. Between the fudge, tortilla factory, dried meats, and sandwich options I was rolling home! The beaver nuts didn't appeal to me, but they're a popular option! I tried the beaver chips, chicken tenders, and ordered a few different brisket sandwiches. Everything was PHENOMENAL! This is NOT gas station food, it's good ole' fashion Texan cuisine. Oh, and don't forget to grab a drink by the fountain dispenser. They're similar to a big gulp from 7-Eleven but not as diluted. I felt like a child again, I was so happy exploring this store after a long drive. The beaver plushies on the pick-up truck display are adorable. I was a total consumer during my visit. I bought a branded jersey, hat, pressed pennies, a tote, stickers, and magnets! All items had the iconic beaver face on them! If you're looking for wagons, fishing supplies (including bait), cowboy hats, kitchen utensils, and clothing, this store has you covered! It's such a convenient stop, as you can literally buy just about anything here. It's part market, part retail, part rest stop. My experience at the gas pump was easy, I didn't break the bank and parking was accessible. The restrooms are HEAVENLY! Super clean, and each stall has a red/green light to alert you as to which toilets are available. I spotted a staff member stationed in the men's restroom, ready to sanitize. The floor was shiny, not a spot to be seen anywhere. They even had tees and poo-poo spray near the restroom entrances! I had a nice exchange with a cashier girl who helped me get some change for the souvenir penny machines. My other interaction with a different cashier (near the smaller entrance) was a bit awkward. I accidentally left a small box of beaver chips in my cart after paying for the rest of my items and she acted like I was purposefully going to rob the joint. I hadn't even left the building! It was a genuine mistake, she didn't have to be so obnoxious. Overall, I had an A- experience. I'd definitely come back and stuff my face in the parking lot again. Eclectic country environments and zany mascot marketing are guilty pleasures of mine.

Come on...What's not to like?…read more By the time I write this and you read it, another 3 Buc-ee's,in 3 more states will have installed their brand of Gas Station tourism for the masses. I have to coyly admit,I'm a fan! Not just because of the cavernous wonderland that holds everything you need for your automobile tour of the highway. But,the founder attended my alma matter which elicits more than a little pride. This location was located exactly where I needed it,when I needed it. Long Live Buc-ee!

I'll travel far & wide for this gasoline! It is hands down the best gas you can put in your vehicle. The gas lasts so long, I drive fast & that's not an understatement. Haha! If you drive over the speed limit or at the limit, like that thrill & performance of your vehicle. Give this gasoline a try! For $2.59 unleaded & $3.19 for diesel. What else can I say? Speedsters like me & a whole week & a half of this gas lasting in my vehicle, A TACOMA at that! It is surely WORTH IT! The bathrooms are clean & updated! Thank you Shell for putting y'all bathrooms inside the store.. for a long time if anyone of y'all can remember Shells bathrooms have ALWAYS been outside & not very pleasant (if you know you know). That's a plus! Now, all of the pumps have this uniformed Ai person promoting this fountain drink for $1 & hotdogs for $5, so it may sound like a robot movie. Hahaha, that's the best way I can put it! This is now & forever my go-to gas station! The clerk is laid back & really didn't give me a hard time. Come here, you won't be disappointed!

I know what flat soda tastes like and I also know what it sounds like when you open the container. Usually soda that's flat like that means that it's old merchandise. SUPER RUDE. CASHIER JUST STOOD THERE AND GIGGLED

The parking lot feels like 5 o'clock traffic on 610, packed with the same people who apparently believe they're the only ones on the road. Unfortunately, that behavior continues once they get inside. Folks stop dead in the middle of aisles, park carts diagonally across entire lanes, and stare into the distance like they're solving international diplomacy instead of choosing between a 40-pack of granola bars and a barrel of cashews. Spatial awareness goes here to die. To be fair, the employees here are consistently polite, helpful, and somehow manage to maintain their sanity while directing human gridlock for eight hours straight. The store itself is also impressively clean, especially considering it regularly looks like the entire Gulf Coast showed up at once to buy mayonnaise by the gallon. And honestly, it's a fine store. If you're ever in desperate need of an 8-pound can of tuna, a case of Bavarian sauerkraut, or enough paper towels to survive a minor economic collapse, this is your paradise. The samples alone can replace lunch if you're patient and willing to circle the aisles like a vulture.
