If you don't feel like reading this whole thing - in summary - this may be a new owner and she should not be dealing directly with customers. She treated us very cruelly and I would advise everyone to just stay away from this place.
I had traveled through Killorglin back in 2015 and always talked about how memorable one of Jack's sandwiches was. When I went back to Ireland in September (2021), I knew I had to get back there. My friend and I arrived for lunch and had a couple okay sandwiches. We decided to give it another try the next day as we were staying in the area and their baked goods looked pretty good. We arrived when they opened in the morning and were excited to order some goodies. When my friend asked which items were made that morning, the woman behind the counter began to berate my friend and also directed her attention towards me. Going on about how horrible it is to ask a question like that and even told my friend "she didn't have a brain." She told us she was the owner and went on and on until we had to just walk out. It was shocking! We were actually shaken by the verbal attacks that just continued on and on while her employees just watched awkwardly. Sure we can empathize with someone that works hard, early mornings, but my friend was very kind in the way she had asked, not realizing that it would offend anyone. Message to owner - If you hate the people who are going out of their way to visit your bakery and don't know how to interact with them in a humane fashion, why do you have a business? Maybe go back to baking things for yourself and leave the business operations to someone more suitable? read more
