Turns out I probably need a New machine instead of a repair. That is based on the age of the machine and leak issue. Steve spent nearly 20 Minutes on the phone with me helping me troubleshoot and diagnose the issue. I have not experienced many appliance repair folks who will spend that amount of time helping someone- knowing that they might not even need his services. After paying $53 for the assessment , 6 days went by with no updates, I texted the shop. I received a response apologizing that they had been busy, and that someone would call me the next day. I received the call, and the customer service person told me the vacuum head was irreparable, and that they could sell me me a replacement head with new filters for $350. I told her that this was too much, and that I would pick it up later that day. When I picked it up, I had to wait 10 minutes in the front of the store while the employee hunted for my machine in the back. I asked her what had failed in the head, and She told me that the head was "shot" , and asked if I was interested in buying a new machine. I told her no and left. After getting home, I examined the roller head, and the access screw covers on both sides had not been touched. No one opened the head to evaluate it! I researched a replacement head online, and found a fully refurbished unit for $110, I ordered the new head, a filter kit for $16, and now have a fully functioning Shark Apex Duoclean for $125. Don't take your vacuum here for repairs, they are not interested or are too busy to provide decent service. However, They would be happy to sell you a new high end vacuum !
