I left feeling like I was ready for a cameo in a Taylor Swift music video. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was treated with warmth, professionalism, and a whole lot of glam. Sydney did my makeup and absolutely nailed it, flawless skin, radiant glow, and the kind of eye sparkle that makes you want to take a thousand selfies. She made me feel like the best version of myself and was so thoughtful with product choices and color matching. She was also a patient teacher. Then came Danielle, who gave me the shampoo and scalp massage dreams are made of, followed by a gorgeous blowout and soft curls that actually are holding up (a miracle in Indiana humidity!). I felt like a pop star in a Pantene commercial. Special shout-out to owner Mary Brammer, whose leadership and vision have clearly created a space that is both welcoming and high-end. Danielle was kind, professional,and took the time to determine my hair type, what I was looking for in a new cut and styling preferences. Despite my rather vague description she got me exactly what I wanted, with a fantastic shampoo and styling to boot. The salon itself was welcoming, with styling products available without the typical used-car salesman tactics I've seen in past salons. Upon meeting her for the first time, I could tell Karissa listened to me and gave me a haircut that I was looking for. I appreciated that she let me just jump right into "business" once I got there, letting me show her a multitude of pictures--no pressure to small talk before I showed her pictures, etc. I did, however, find her easy to talk to once we got to the shampooing/cutting of my hair. I feel like I got a $50 haircut, although women's cuts here are only $25. Definitely a great price for the area! I am giving the studio a 4 star, however, as the studio's parking lot is kind of difficult to get in and out of. Also, the building is just poorly placed--it's on a curve alongside a major road, that I would argue is on the edge of a ghetto. The building is older and could be better maintained. If just giving a rating based on Karissa, I would give 5 stars.
