I'm hanging on to the hope that my 4 stars will not have to be updated as the scales of bar justice can only tip downward hence forth. Perhaps I have a false sense of self - but I'm a freakin great customer - I spend hundreds of dollars a month on eating, drinking and making Merry at the midcoast Maine bars - y'all business owners better take notice of me and respect the badge, my writing power and my posse - cause I'll turn you out if I must. And when beady eyes behind the bar set upon me, they're not saying"welcome back valued customer" they're saying "it's him again" the concentric circles, the common center must not be broken with new faces and new money - Be the region between the two concentric circles - I think it's called annulus, be that, not an assulus. The folks at the bar are quite the opposite, they're friendly and engaging- one guy was dancing to live music, caulking around the AC while drinking drafts and discussing Him Morrison with me as I sat alone in a dark corner. This is what Irish bars are - just gotta inform the barmaid- only one, the other is quite nice - and the big guy - I'm betting a shit of Jamison that he's the owner- always running around the back, cooking up great meals - try his Steak and Cheese, the twelve inch pizza which beady eye called "fourteen" - duh - is $9.00 and big guys got a heavy topping hand, smothering that pie with the pepperoni that does that high heat trigger shaped twist - like a tulip pedal holding the little droplets of oil inside.

The bartender said we could order food even though it was really slow and the band had stopped playing. We ordered cheese steaks sandwiches. We asked what came with the sandwiches and we were told tater tots. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. We had to wait about 5 minutes for the ketchup and there were no tater tots. We got a bag of chips and were told they were out of the tater tots and French fries. No respectable Irish bar would not be able to serve fries or some form of potato with a meal. The bar had about 10 people in the bar and they were all pretty drunk. It is not a fun pub but a place with some sad drunks.

Crock of onion soup is made with Beal broth and was super delicious. My wife had the Waldorf salad and she loved it - she said the dressing needed something, probably salt. I had the fried chicken dinner with garlic mashed and roasted carrots. They fry a whole breast from a small chicken, delish!, black pepper gravy on the side and the mashed potatoes were scrumptious. We stop here a few times a year and it never disappoints Garyd

After visiting the gardens, we weren't sure we wanted to drive 30 minutes the other way for dinner, but we did and we were very happy about it! Everything was outstanding from the drinks and appetizers to dinner and dessert. They say their clam chowder is award-winning. Two in our party had the clam chowder and agreed that it was the best chowder they've ever had. These two order chowder wherever they go. They also had the calamari which they said was excellent as well. The scallops appetizer was GF and was unbelievable. I have a gluten allergy so I had the haddock without breadcrumbs. It was very, very good. I did not get sick, so they get five stars for that. The service was excellent. The vibe was relaxed and friendly. We enjoyed our visit immensely.

The Pub is inside the main building of an Inn. Parking was a bit confusing. We didn't think to call ahead so could not get a table with a view but inside was charmingly dark and cozy. The staff were all very good. I think our waiter was Rinaldo. He was very friendly even as the place filled up. I got an Aperol Spritz that was delicious. I had a lobster roll here as they offer it warm with butter and not with mayo. You actually had the choice of cold with mayo or the correct way (warm with butter). It was $19 which was lower than other spot's market price and while it was maybe smaller than some, it was the perfect size for me. It really was well done. The roll was warm, buttery & toasted to have enough crisp. The lobster was cooked to perfection. My dinner companion got muscles in broth and was also a big fan. I only wish I had room for dessert because I overhead the magic words..... bread pudding. Will definitely go back here. Thank you for the great meal!

Service was a tad slow, but we managed. I opted for some lobster bisque, crabcakes, and the Lawnmere flatbread. The soup was pretty good. There were large chunks of lobster in the soup. The garnish was a nice addition. The crab cakes were ok. The lacked a little flavor for me. The corn salsa was pretty good! The Lawnmere seemed like a good idea on the menu, but oddly it lacked flavor. I had high hopes for this flatbread. I feel like we missed a mark here. The crust was great. My key lime pie was delicious. The coconut really added to the dish. My son devoured his pub burger and had no complaints. My husband said his calamari and fish tacos were ok. The heirloom tomato salad was the best. The arugula has a nice taste to it along with the layer of ricotta cheese under it all. The flavors really blended well with this dish. The bathroom was 10/10 for me they had a theme and ran with it and I love it. The lobster themed wallpaper really made it overall we had a nice lunch. Nothing spectacular. Maybe dinner is the meal to have here. We went at 2pm for a late lunch early dinner.

Parking on the street nearby was easy enough and thankfully had no wait for a table. The space is small yet inviting with lots of decorative owls all around as well. The staff were all friendly and our server was very attentive and described the specials expertly. They offered beers, wines, signature cocktails, as well as a few mocktails. Also appeared to have a full bar so should you have a preferred drink I am sure they'll make it. I enjoyed their Ramona Park cocktail that had a touch of spice, while my wife got their Follow You Down mocktail. Drink prices appeared to be quite standard. Food wise my wife got their Not Your Average BLT and I got their Good Ol' Chicken Basket. The BLT was phenomenal with little tweaks/additions to it that make it a new favorite BLT! The chicken was very tasty, yet extremely thin so a few bites had no meat and just breading. Both came with fries and those were tasty and seasoned well! They could have been a touch more crispy though. Overall we both enjoyed our meals a lot and would love to return! Both food and drinks were brought to us in a quick time! I also thought in general prices were reasonable. This is a spot worth checking out for sure! Friendly staff with well made drinks and food.
