Science experiment. We're going to test this to see what's going on.

My husband peeled what seems to be plastic that was wrapped around the egg in his sausage croissant. It wasn't wrapped all over, but just a "corner" of the egg. Unfortunately, he already broke some of it off, chewed and swallowed a piece. The next bite he couldn't even chew through it with his molars. That's what started to raise a red flash and he spit it out. Then he proceeded to peel the rest of the plastic off of the egg. The sandwich itself was overall lukewarm. They had misheard his order so they had to make him the sandwich rather quickly.

Grilled Breakfast Sandwich

Been craving Jack in the Box yesterday, so my family and I went to get some for breakfast and dinner. Whenever we go to a Jack in the Box, I always get either a chicken sandwich or the Grilled Breakfast Sandwich. The latter has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember. Ironically we've hardly ever been to this location, even though it's literally a 2-minute drive away from where we live. But after going here twice in one day (8:00am and 10:30pm), I can't think of any reason to rate this place any lower than 4 stars. In the morning we each ordered a Grilled Breakfast Sandwich. No matter how hard we tried to replicate this simple sandwich at home, it just doesn't compare to Jack in the Box. Customer service here was great, staff were fast and friendly, and all the tables were empty. But when we all took a bite of our sandwiches, we couldn't help but notice that it wasn't as good as we remembered it. It was kind of cold and chewy, especially on the edges. It was good, but it could have been better for sure. As for the dining area...yes, it does appear a little unkempt and not as clean as you'd expect, but I'm sure that's a work in progress. We came back later that night to try the $4.99 Jack's Spicy Chicken Club combo (because with fries and a drink included, it's a good deal!) and I honestly loved it! Sure, the chicken breast was kind of hard and overcooked, and the whole sandwich was a bit smaller than I expected it to be, but it had the right level of spiciness and actually tasted really great! I added 2 of their tacos to my order for only 99 cents, and even though it wasn't like your typical taco (they use a different kind of taco shell; it's kind of hard and stuck together), it actually does taste good with their Taco sauce! At least, that was my opinion. The rest of my family didn't seem to agree. But for the price it was of course worth it! There was a long line at the drive-thru last night at around 10:30pm, both because the dining area was closed and because their Late Night Munchie Meals are served after 10pm, but that didn't stop us. It only took about a 15-minute wait and it gave us time to decide what to order. The staff were still nice though, despite being busy and apparently short-staffed, and you could tell they were working as fast and efficient as they could. I'm sure this location has the potential to become better, but it's really not that bad. Still a great place to grab a quick bite! I'm hoping future visits won't change my rating of this place, but in case I do, I'll be sure to give updates!

The service was great--everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. The menu is pretty extensive, especially when it comes to tacos, so there are plenty of options to choose from. I tried the asada, carnitas, birria, and adobada tacos. All were decent, with the birria being my favorite. The other meats weren't bad by any means, but they were a bit on the drier side compared to some other taco spots I've been to. The rice and beans were pretty standard--exactly what you'd expect, nothing particularly standout. One thing I really liked, though, was the self-serve salsa bar. It's always a plus being able to customize your flavors. One thing to note is that you do need to bus your own table, but considering the price and portion sizes, it feels fair and worth it. Overall, a solid spot for a casual meal. I'll definitely be exploring more of this area of Renton--there seem to be a ton of authentic Mexican restaurants nearby. We went late at night, so options were a bit limited at the time, but this was a good find.

I knew going in, this was either going to be great or garbage and unfortunately it was the latter. For a place that has been in business for a decade (which I didn't know ahead of time) to only have 60 reviews, it's clear traffic is low here. Also, some of these 5 star reviews are sketchy. I didn't trust reviews from people with less than 5 reviews, or people that aren't local with low review counts. Do you really want me to believe you flew into Seattle, stumbled on this place and then had the best meal of your life? First was the price. I had a burrito and soda and it was $22. At $17 the burrito alone was just as much as a combo meal from a full service restaurant. Based on the price, thought I would be working with a monster, but the burrito was no bigger than Chipotle burrito and not nearly as good. They used refried instead of whole beans and added watered down sour cream which really impacted the flavor. Service was friendly, but that is the only positive. Prices were unreasonable. Flavor was inexcusable and portion was regrettable. I ate less than half and had to force myself to eat that much. After spending so much cash, I felt obligated to force it down, until I realized I was punishing myself.

But just as I was convincing her to give it a moment the staff came out from the back with orders, saw us, and we were quickly seated by the window. The space has been converted and feels that way, like the fingerprints of the previous tenant has not been erased. The menu is extensive with all the typical dishes we see in Mexican restaurants with very reasonable costs. They offer a few alcoholic drinks including margaritas, which I found to be splendid and perfectly balanced. The food also was tasty. I ate the enchiladas especial which seemed like fairly typical enchiladas and I mean that in the best of ways. The service also was great. Our waitress checked in on us often, was super polite and friendly, and was prompt with our bill. All in all a wonderful lunch!

I had to get up to get my tortillas from the buffet isle. Waitress never came back to check on us after bringing our food. I had to get up to ask for my tab and pay at the counter.
