Jack in the Box is one of those places that's fine when you're in a hurry, but it's never really become a favorite of mine. The menu has plenty of options, so it's easy to find something that sounds good, but the execution just hasn't been there. The biggest disappointment is the fries. I honestly can't remember the last time I got them hot and fresh they're almost always cold by the time I open the bag. The burgers and other items are okay, but I'd describe them as mediocre at best. Nothing has ever been bad enough to swear the place off, but nothing has ever made me excited to come back either. If you're looking for a quick bite and convenience is your priority, it'll get the job done. We were in Reno after a concert with our kids, and having such a great night, we decided to stop for milkshakes. It was late--around 11:30PM on a Friday. With closing time posted as 1AM, I assumed shakes would still be available. We ordered three Oreo milkshakes, nothing more. At the pickup window I watched a young girl pour something from a pitcher, sprinkle in Oreo powder, pour some more, mix it up, and hand them over. I mentioned to my husband that it looked weird; he guessed maybe they'd just cleaned the machine. So we didn't say anything. One sip and I instantly grabbed them from the kids. It was lukewarm, thick cream mixed with Oreo powder--not ice cream, not a milkshake. We drove back through the drive‑thru and told her what it tasted like. She said the shake machine wasn't working. Fine, but why didn't she tell us when we placed the order? Instead she quietly served us warm Oreo‑flavored cream and waited for us to complain--at nearly $19. That ruined our otherwise perfect night. My kid was up sick all night after just a few sips. I don't expect gourmet quality at fast‑food places, but that was utterly unacceptable. I've placed several pickup orders here. The only reason I continue to do so is because it's the nearest location to my house. I haven't gone inside so I can't talk about how clean or organized it is from the inside. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because some of the workers there are rude, and the pickup orders usually tend to have some sort of issue. If it's not the ingredients I customized being incorrect, it's that something from the order is missing. This store lacks accountability and customer service. On Sunday 4/6 I ordered DoorDash from this location. The cup arrived with the sticker over the lid to show that the driver had not tempered with it. I went to drink and nothing came out of straw. I open the lid and in shock see a bag. I started pulling it out but it was to big and the ice tea would have gotten all over. I drove to the store to show them to only be treated like I was lying. So I got an email from Jack-in-the-Box letting me know that the ultimate cheeseburger was half price. Monday is really big day for us as the kids have afterschool sports and then civil air patrol. I decided to buy some burgers for dinner. I opened the app and ordered 12 of the HUGE burgers @ 2 per child and 1 for me and my wife. I chose this location as it was closest to the pool the kids were at. Now a nice feature is that there is a button that pops up asking Jack-in-theBox to start cooking. It explains that they want you to have the order fresh, so you choose when they start it. It also said it would take 7 to 8 minutes to prepare. I figured since it was 12 burgers that it would take much more time so high I had them start it right away. We were approximately 10 minutes away as well as the kids were not finished working out. It actually took us 25 minutes to get to Jack-in-the-Box. My son went into grab the burgers and after about five minutes came out and said they still were not done. I went in side to find out what was the issue. I asked for the manager. She came up and I told her that it was 30 minutes for the order and asked why they were not done. In a fairly snippy, non-apologetic reply she said the order came in when they were's shift change. They were actually six workers, they were orders out the drive-thru window, one after another. Again I mentioned that it was 30 minutes and that it shouldn't take 30 minutes to make 12 burgers. The manager just walked away. I stood there and watch them put two burgers in each bag, they put the bag in the french fry warmer area. I stood there for about five more minutes and the manager came out and asked them to give us the burgers. I am completely miffed why they did not hand me the burgers before she came back. They were done, sitting in the heater. Maybe she was a little passive aggressive that I was unhappy that it took 40 minutes for 12 burgers. So I guess don't do large orders for a large family with the app and expect to have good service? If you don't get good service, do not politely ask why, as this may extend your wait time. 12 Burgers should not be a burden on a fast food chain. On the bright side, the burgers were quite good. The kids all said so. However they were rushed, and the cheese was not melted on any of the burgers. That didn't really affect the flavor though. read more

i went in around 9:45 but as I went in I was greeted by the hispanic ladies in the front but they asked if I needed help I said in English "yeah just looking" but as i was looking, I heard one of a women tell another that I looked ugly in Spanish. They guessed I didn't understand but I did. I felt uncomfortable and disrespected by the behavior of the staff, and I believe no customer should experience this. I would appreciate it if the management could address this issue to ensure a more welcoming environment for all customers. Okay so I hardly eat at fast food and if I do, I never order burgers (except in n out) because they're always disappointing. I was in a hurry to get lunch and stopped at the drive thru of jack in the box. I haven't been to jack in the box in a long long time, and wasn't expecting much. However they blew me away! Although there was a long busy line, it went incredibly quick. Once at the window, the workers were super friendly, even for being busy and probably stressed. My burger was crazy awesome for being only $3. Bun was fluffy, perfect proportion sizes of mayo lettuce cheese and tomato. I would totally be back to have another. Ok, I know this is just fast food but when you are paying 16 dollars for chicken strips and 13 dollars for a chicken sandwich it's only natural to expect a bit more. We frequent this place quite a bit since it's one of the only late night spots open. The guy running the window is always super exasperated and put out, like it's annoying we are there ordering food. The sodas taste like diet, every time. The food is mediocre at best and we always have at least one item missing. All that being said, will I go back for the chocolate overload cake? Again, this is a fast food place. I don't understand the complaints people give because I've never had any issues. And you know what? Being polite to the workers goes a long way. I've gotten lazy over the years and so this Jack in the Box is open the latest for my nite cravings when I get them. I'm kind of surprised that the closest JIB near me closes at 6pm on Sundays! I order the tacos ( yes, I love these), Breakfast Jack's ( a favorite of mine and my family for YEARS and probably pretty nutritious too as I order extra ham and egg on it) and once in a while through DoorDash too, chicken strips or a chicken sandwich. Never disappointed. And some people complain it might be cold on arrival through delivery. Well Keystone is pretty far from me. If you're too lazy to heat things up for a minute in the microwave, don't complain about it being cold. Shit gets cold especially fast food in a half hour or more. I'm just happy to be enjoying my favorites from them and I can do it late. Thank God for DoorDash. I'm too lazy to drive all the way to Keystone anyways. :P And I have, as I said, NEVER had any issues with an order going 'wrong' or things missing when I place an order. And I have placed MANY. Ordered 10 orders of two tacos which all arrived cold and an ultimate cheeseburger and I paid for extra cheese on it. What I got, was three tiny burnt patties on a dry bun with zero cheese. I would give this store 0 stars if I could. The guy working the drive thru window was very nice, but I have never been so disrespected by a manager anywhere in my life. I ordered a doordash pickup order and they gave it to the wrong car at the window, one without the confirmation number. When I got to the window the manager was extremely rude and yelling at me saying there was nothing they could do and essentially called me stupid saying I didn't understand how doordash worked. She would not give me her name and was not wearing a name tag, but she was very hostile and made me go through the drive thru three times before eventually letting me order and giving me my food, which they made me pay for a second time. Dude. This is Jack in the Box and I don't expect immaculate service. As matter of fact, if I drive off from the drive-thru and not a single item is amiss then I call that excellent service LOL! Over 15 times I have ordered via mobile app then pickup through drive-thru and only twice did they miss something from my order. And not a big deal because one of them was pancake syrup... which we have at home. Overall, this is the closest JITB in our apartment and I will keep coming here because their Jumbo Breakfast Platter with Bacon and iced coffee are delicious!!! This is the closest Jack in the Box to my work so I come here once in a while when I'm craving fast food. On my most recent trips (3x within the past couples of weeks), I've ordered the Chicken club salad with grilled chicken. Each time I've gotten a salad without bacon. What is a club salad without bacon?? So ... on my last trip, I made sure to check for bacon and of course, there was none. I pointed this out and the lady took back my salad to add back. Look at the ball of bacon in the salad and notice the wilted lettuce. I was disgusted. The salad was nasty. The only reason I'm giving this location 2 stars instead of 1 is because I haven't had any issues with the burgers I've ordered before. But I won't be ordering a salad from this location again - I'm still trying to get the gross taste out of my mouth from the last one. read more

Only came here because I was nearby and needed something quick to eat. I would recommend avoiding this location though because it smells like BO and your food will seemingly take forever, especially by fast food standards. I was here with a couple co-workers and they both ordered burgers while I ordered a crispy chicken club salad. Their burgers arrived at our table at the same time but my salad was nowhere to be seen. It wasn't until they were about halfway through their meals when mine was ready. How does 2 burgers and fries get done that much faster than a salad, that should've been already sitting in the fridge, is my question. We stopped for food and supplies in Reno on our way to Burning Man, and decided to get a final bite to eat before the second leg of our drive. I really wanted a veggie burger, but since Jack In The Box doesn't have this on the menu, I asked for their monster taco. I'm always happy to settle for a taco, even when I'm craving something else. The man working suggested a couple other "healthy" menu choices and salads, but I ordered two of the over-sized tacos instead. Over-sized, and under-cooked. I had extra lettuce on mine, but unfortunately the cheese wasn't even completely warm on the inside. The food wasn't great, but I liked the friendly guy working at the counter. Interestingly, this location doesn't carry the ghost pepper hot sauce that they have at the Walnut Creek, CA location. Just the regular taco sauce packets, which is in no way a hot sauce. If this app would allow to give a restaurant negative stars this would be the place I would choose to give them too. As many chances as my husband and I give this establishment they always seem to disappoint. Had placed a mobile order in February picked it up when I got home I noticed they had completely missed an order of large fries. Tried calling the restaurant and they never answered. So I went back had to go thru the drive thru again as the dining area was not open at all. I informed the manager Susana about the missing item. In a rude tone she told me that I was basically lying cause she had packed them in there herself. When in fact there where not there. Rudely told me to wait upfront. Had to wait over 5 mins for the fries because she was more worried about her drive thru line then her upset customer. When the fries did finally come out she didn't even take them to me herself she sent another worker. When I asked who I can ask for as the restaurant general manager so I can talk to them he basically pretended to not know what I was talking about. Now fast forward to today 4/15 we ordered jack in the box thru door dash we get our order and it's not only wrong but cold. Never received our 2 orders of popcorn chicken instead got nuggets. Fries were cold and stale. Once again I tried calling the store and kept getting forwarded to voicemail time and time again. Overall just bad experiences at this location no matter how many times we give them a chance. This is extremely sad that such a highly recognized establishment allows their employees to do this. I worked fast food for 5 years. Had the privilege and honor to run 3 stores myself. And never in a million years would I allow myself or my employees to do this nor would I allow them to accuse a paying customer who's spending their hard earned money to be called a liar by my employees or myself over a missing item. I'm pretty loyal to Taco Bell but my roommates and I figured we would switch it up for a change. My roommates and I had just finished a night at a comedy show where we had been drinking a little and wanted to get some quick food before we went home (we're grandmas, so this was around 8:45pm). Now I know that Jack in the box isn't like some 5 star high end quality food, but when you go through a fast food drive thru, the ONE thing you want out of the whole experience is to get your food FAST. We ordered around 8:45pm, and when we got to the window, we waited about 5 full minutes before the guy came out and took our card to pay. We're still waiting there for our food (our order was pretty standard by the way: 3 orders of curly fries, a burger, chicken strips. Nothing complicated.) 15 minutes later, we still don't have our food. The guy says they're "swamped" and only have 3 people working, and asks us if we can pull around to the front of the restaurant and he'll bring our food out to us. That just sounded weird to me but of course we do it because we don't know any better and we really thought that by listening to this employee that we would get our food like, at a decent time. We're waiting outside parked in front of this freaking establishment for about 30 minutes, it's about 9:30pm. My friend walks in and stands in front of the counter to see what's up. There's NOT that many people inside (like maybe 4 people waiting for their food). Also, I understand if you're understaffed and "swamped." But doesn't it make sense to give the people food who ordered it first??? Like why would you keep making other people's orders if there's clearly people who have already paid for their food and still haven't gotten it? Like if you're swamped, just stop taking orders at the drive thru for a second and make someone's food. They tried to give us a free cheesecake slice at around 9:40 when they finally started packing our food together. I ended up asking the employee if it was okay to get a full refund, because this was unreasonable to wait 45 minutes to get food and have to bug the employees over and over to not forget that we were still waiting. The manager came out and thankfully refunded me on my card (I haven't actually gotten it yet but she said it would take a couple days). We pulled up to the window and had her read our order back to ensure that she got everything we asked for. She gave our sodas and they were flat, both Coke and Sprite. We told her that they were flat and that they needed to fix it. We asked for the manager in which this extremely rude and cocky woman came up and said that they couldn't do anything because he machine wasn't saying that there needed to be a change even though we were explaining to her that both flavors were flat. But, this morning I went through, and this is only my 2nd "Yelp" review in 4 years, but I just had to point out the exceptional service of a person named "Chris". I forgot to ask for curly fries when I ordered at the speaker. I also forgot to ask for my milkshake without the toppings as well. I ALSO paid with a $100 bill... When I realized my mistakes, it was AFTER I'd ordered at the speaker, and I dreaded having to go to the window to fix my mistakes. But, Chris was so kind about it and I REALLY appreciated it. He didn't make me feel uncomfortable or "stupid" or inconvenienced. I think THAT is what good customer service is about. I ordered 3 bacon double sourdough patty melts for my work crew. When we got them to the job site and went to eat we were immediately shocked! The BACON double PATTY MELT had no bacon and no onions. Key ingredients in their recipe. This restaurant used to have a stable and friendly crew. The crew is different but friendly. And I thank them for working to help us who are working as well , eat. But come on!! No bacon or onions on the bacon double patty melt? Soo for giggles I went back again and ordered the same thing 3 days later. SAME STUPID PROBLEM!!!! Sorry Jack!!! I've discovered something to buy when I want a quickie drive thru food. It's the 99 cent breakfast jack. It isn't greasy, it's cheap, and it's fairly wholesome. This JITB is typical in most regards where cleanliness is concerned. It looks fine. At this particulair JITB, many of the drive-thru employees don't speak English, so you can not ask any questions. And this is my neighborhood branch, so, oh well. I'm not likely to drive far out of my way for a 99 cent item. They now have a frequent customer card, but I gave up on it after trying to use it twice and finding the employee, who didn't speak English, had rung my order up wrong (not on the card) which meant I'd have to wait for the manager to come over and re-ring it. 1.
