I have to say I do love me some Jack, but this was just bad food. The food was dry, not really cooked well, but over cooked or older. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but quality of food was average and luke warm. I am still going to go when I cruise by, but not making an effort to eat there on the regular as I would usually do. Stopping at this Jack in the Box has become a tradition. We love to visit Paso Robles and found this Jacks on our way there a few years back. It is conveniently located off the 101, has plenty of parking, has clean restrooms, and most importantly it has Jack in the Box tacos. It is so much a part of our routine that I even saved the address in my Waze app. Most people only post a Yelp review from a negative experience at a fast food mega chain. I believe it is important to provide props occasionally to these mega chains when they are doing something right or in this case "checking all the boxes". Jack In The Box is our favorite fast food chain, as I've probably mentioned in the past. The wide variety of options they offer is appealing, plus most of what they make is decent, if not actually tasty and good. With that as a base statement, we pop into various ones if we're on the road to different destinations. Recently, we were heading out to Malibu and hit the drive-thru to get breakfast items. I really appreciate that they will make egg white-only breakfast sandwiches, versus whole egg. No drama, no fuss, just "Yes, we can make that for you." Hooray! I don't think there's an up-charge, either. They'll also substitute out different beverages if you aren't in the mood for coffee or orange juice. The flexibility is appreciated. We have been in to the dining room at different times. It's not very large, but I think they tend to do more drive-thru business, anyway. I ordered Sriracha curly fry burger munchie meal. This is supposed to be curly fries most of them are broken pieces n tasted/look old. Kinda disappointed because all the fries were hard to chew. Like, would you eat this yourself? ( to the person or whoever was packing this order) when I order food to go, I trust that i will get some what decent fresh good food. Call me crazy but we love the tacos here. No they don't taste like real tacos but there's something addicting to these deep fried, previously frozen, not likely real meat, crunch fest. Whoever was working today (Latina woman mid 40s) served my food at the drive through without wearing a mask. As a cancer survivor who is in chemo treatment and highly immunocompromised I was extremely disappointed. This was the second time I've seen her maskless.
