Jake was eager to make this a memorable day and was devoted in capturing my vision and more.. He was professional, artistic, creative, responsive, reasonable, he was even willing to purchase a bottle of champagne for me to have an immediate celebration on the SB beach, you name it, Jake was there to make it happen! I live up in the SF Bay Area, and when seeking photographers I did the usual Google search, and when looking on Yelp found the ability to mass message a lot of photographers. So to say the least I did my research... With numerous calls, texts, emails, speaking with Jake over the phone I by far and beyond had a great impression, and again, he was eager to assist in the creative process and be my covert mission photographer.. and he nailed it! There was a lot of coordinating that needed to happen in driving down from the Bay Area, discrete text messages, needing him to scope out the photo location/scenery, even sharing my location on my phone. But honestly I could've done it without Jake, and now we have a gallery of beautiful pictures that my fiancé and I, as well as all of my family and friends are able to enjoy, ensuring that memorable and beautiful day will always be captured. It all started when I sent a mass message request for quotes from various photographers around the Napa area. I had planned to do a surprise proposal for my now fiance and the responses I received were unhelpful and dry. Many responses were received such as "500 flat rate" or "not available". Well, Chris responded with a very thorough and inquiring message. He sent many many suggestions of places to propose at, what the area is like, what the staff is like ... man I can't name the countless details he has discussed with me. Point being, he went ABOVE AND BEYOND what nobody else would. I had a few places in mind to propose at, but these suggestions Christophe made were fantastic. I'm talking vast mountain views and intimate settings. Open vineyards as far as the eye can see where no one is around but just you and that special person. He has done us a 100/10 service in helping plan and set up the surprise engagement. Christophe is special to me in the way that he has made this whole process a comfortable and exciting one. I was very nervous throughout the whole process and due to some miscommunication, I was devastated but Chris cleared everything up for me and the other parties involved, and from there I knew he was a man with a good heart that only wants the best for his clients. In preparation of the surprise engagement, he gave very very thorough and specific details. Like, there's no way you can go wrong!! It was so comforting knowing step by step what I should do and how to help my fiance get the best shots without compromising the surprise in any way. In the end, my fiance was so happy about the whole engagement that we couldn't stop talking about Chris and the venue the whole ride back to our hotel. We interviewed a half dozen wedding photographers, and after a whirlwind experience I can confidently say that J & D are the most communicative and easy to work with. They have a can-do attitude and bring a low key sense of humor and enthusiasm to their projects. Everybody got along easily with them. Their equipment they use gave them a lot of options for getting great shots, they knew when to take advantage of good lighting, and they were SO kind about the few time they asked us to pose in the moment--a quick, "hey look over here!". Those quick and easy moments all paid off ... now that we have the shots we can see why they went for it. They included engagement photos in their package, and that shoot was a super fun adventure, everybody was in a good mood, so of course we got great photos that we'll have forever. I can't emphasize enough how many of the OTHER photographer candidates we interviewed came to their projects with an attitude like, 'this is how WE do things', or asking intrusive personal questions, or making us come down to their office for a sales pitch... Where to begin with praise for Jaime and Dennis? They photographed our wedding this past June in…read moreBig Sur and we could not have found photographers with more warmth, heart, patience, flexibility, and, above all things, the most beautiful results. Like many other reviewers, when looking for a photographer, we wanted an approach that was more journalistic, but still had an editorial bent. In other words, we didn't want a ton of posed photos, but instead wanted moments captured in a beautiful, subtle, and elegant way. I came across a photo that Jaime took of a row of grandparents laughing, and knew almost right then and there that I would want to work with them. I loved the process of talking and even negotiating with Jaime and Dennis. From the get go, they were interested in who we are, our lives, and what we wanted out of our photographs. I got the sense that they don't take cookie-cutter approaches to wedding photography, and love that philosophy. They both worked with us to come up with a package that fit our budget and made sense for everyone, always being extremely responsive and professional. On our wedding weekend, Dennis and Jaime were phenomenal. They blended in seamlessly with our guests and vendors, would get into any position for great photos (at some point I was scared Dennis was going to fall off a cliff), and cared enough in the flow of the day to not take us away from the party for too long, yet long enough so that we got beautiful shots. Beyond that, Jaime actually was extraordinary in helping with little things, like when the train of my dress got dirty from walking on the street - she had all sorts of ideas on how we could get the marks out, and went out of her way to do so. When we got the images a mere 2 weeks later (!!), I was blown away. The images were so special and captured spontaneous moments not just of us but also of our guests. There are so many photos I want to frame and two months later, I still go through them every week or so because of how beautiful they are. In sum, all I can really say to people considering Viera Photographics is: Hire Jaime and Dennis now, before their schedules get booked up! You won't be sorry!
