We had an AMAZING experience with Ed. Long story short, back in November 2022, I was having issues trying to book a photographer. A friend from high school DM'd me a few photos of from his wedding and told me to reach out to Ed. Immediately, I was drawn to his work and reached out. After about an hour conversation with Ed, I knew our vibes were a perfect fit! WE NEEDED ED TO BE OUR PHOTOGRAPHER! I don't think I've ever signed a contract so fast in my life. I raved to my fiancé (husband now) about how much we needed him and got his approval. We locked Ed in within 24 hours. The process with Ed was so smooth. Anytime I had questions, he got back to me with answers. Any suggestions he gave me, I went with them! For example, he suggested my solo shots before my first look. He had mentioned that first looks tend to be emotional and that I may cry. He was right! Fast forward to the afternoon of our wedding day, July 28th at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga. We didn't have detail shots (rings, getting dressed, etc) since it really isn't our thing but he is good at them! I've seen his work with other couples. The entire thing just flew by. Solos, first look, ceremony, family photos, wedding party photos, cocktail hour, grand entrance, first dance, speeches, dinner, table photos, sunset photos, cake, games, night shoot, dessert, and last dance. Ed was literally by our side the entire way and I don't think we could have asked for anyone else. It's like we had a BEST FRIEND with us the whole ride! Ed is great with everyone! You know how sometimes we have those wedding guests that are just too much? He handled those guests so well. He just has a way with people... incredibly likeable! A lot of our guests bring up Ed until this day. We even have engaged couples asking for his contact information and we happily shared! In general, I've always felt awkward taking photos and Ed was great at making me comfortable and there was just so much laughter. He knew exactly how to capture US in every photo. He is also so good at his craft! The night shoot was on a whim! Ed said he had a vision and we let him do his thing! The next morning, he sent us some teaser pics and.... i was speechless! Those night shots were AMAZING! I want to blow up and hang every single one on my wall! We are already talking about hiring Ed again for our 10 year anniversary! THIS is how much we LOVE ED! Ed had done several of my friends' wedding photography in the past and it was just serendipitous that he came full circle to do mine. He is the best after all! My Fiance contacted Ed Pingol to capture our proposal. My fiance said Ed was so responsive and easy to work with in planning the whole surprise with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars for months. I am all about capturing every moment and love candid shots; Ed captured all that plus more! After the proposal, Ed took pictures of us around the lake and different areas of the winery. Ed was our photographer for our wedding and engagement photos. Not only did we love his photos, we loved how he made us feel natural. My husband is really shy, but he was able to make him comfortable and natural in our photos. He also recommended beautiful private areas to take photos so that we could be comfortable. Ed traveled from the bay to LA for my wedding. The week of my wedding I found out there was going to be a storm on the grape vine and literally everywhere. I had so much anxiety but Ed reassured me that he will be there. It gave me so relief. 10 hours of driving didn't stop him. This review is well OVERDUE! My apologies to Ed, I never meant to let it go this long. We met Ed back in late 2015 & on a whim, I emailed him to see if he was available for our 10 year vow renewal in May 2016. In my head, I was ready for disappointment because I know he's booked out for at least the next year & would definitely be booked right in the middle of wedding season. Low & behold, he was available! My heart sang & I was super ecstatic to know we were going to have the best photographer for our event. Ed is super fun to be around & he really knows how to get everyone to give their natural smile. Fast forward to 2022 -- We have since seen Ed every year for our annual holiday/family pictures. We even saw him for our daughter's 8th grade graduation pictures after he heard the school wasn't doing them (COVID times). I can't believe it's been 6 years! She searched far and wide for a wedding photographer that met our vision for the wedding. Mr. Pingol was that guy. I'm sure there's plenty of photographers out there with a similar talent level at this price range. What sets Ed apart is his personability. He helps you feel at ease from the very start. This translates into a photo session that moves along much more naturally. Almost as if you and a friend were taking selfies. During our engagement photos, it was raining and yet he still managed to pull off some great shots. Also since this was my first time meeting him, I wasn't sure how to go about being in front of the camera. He has a great eye and knows how to get you into the right pose to create the perfect shot. When it came time for the wedding day photos, Ed was there along with his assistant photog. Ed's personality must be infectious because his buddy was just as personable as Ed is. Hanging out with him felt like he was just another member of the wedding party, and not a vendor at all. That I'm sure helped ease the wedding day jitters and ensure the photos came out looking as best as possible. After seeing the finished product, I can say that they are nothing short of spectacular. When was Yelp started? Probably after our wedding. I have gray hairs now. Probably from my two young kids. This review is overdue from eons ago, when EP was still in its infancy. But I bet his skills are even better today. In fact, I know so. We still look at his pics from recent weddings and his use of light is amazing. We even give him partial credit for our starting our own fledging wedding design business. I taught myself photography, and while I got decently good at it, doing wedding was and is super stressful. A testament to EP and his team for continuing to do awesome work, even under stressful situations. This is what I tell clients. EP does cost a pretty penny. But personally, photography is the one item that shouldn't be skimped for a wedding. We've looked at our pictures many times, but I can count on one hand (2 fingers actually), where we actually sat down and watched our video. So skimp on the video but not the pics. The photos Ed took of my daughter, who's a dancer, are first rate. He simply has an eye for great angles and lighting. On top of that, he's just fun. He is not only incredibly experienced and professional, but he is also a true artist. Our wedding was only on Saturday (3/26), and by Monday (3/28), he had already sent us a ton of sneak peak pictures (I honestly wasn't expecting these for weeks! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ED PINGOL PHOTOGRAPHY. Ed provided an excellent photo shoot for my family, parents and brothers at the Palace of Fine Arts. Despite scheduling a 1hr session, Ed never rushed us or made us feel pressed for time. He was very patient and kind to all of us, even though my father has health issues that limit his mobility. What I appreciated most was his ability to connect with the entire family (especially my elderly Filipino parents) and make everyone feel comfortable throughout the photo shoot, as if we have known him our entire lives -- he maintained laughter and smiles the entire time. I hate having to give a bad review, but i think not receiving ones full set of photos as stated, almost A YEAR AFTER still, calls for a bad review. I have asked repeatedly through email and facebook. I either got no response or a response stating they'll check and get back to me. As a photographer, he's awesome. Very patient and kind. But a good photographer does me no good if I don't receive the product. I hope I'm just unlucky in timing. Wow - Ed & Jeff take incredibly awesome pictures. These guys are true professionals and their quality work speaks for itself. I recently spent all last Friday w/ them, while they went around w/ us all around SF for my buddy's wedding. They are willing to travel anywhere in the world for their clients. First started at City Hall, then Legion of Honor, followed by the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park, and wrapped up the day at Baker Beach. During the whole time, Ed explained his artistic thought process and why he chose certain angles and shots. Ed and Jeff were never shy to share their work to show the results. They also explained the reasoning for why certain lighting was best for certain shots, and what worked best for others. I was taking pictures w/ my point-and-shoot Canon 870IS, and they had no problems w/ me doing this. Super chill and fun to kick it w/ these guys during the day, never a dull moment. Ed got everyone involved w/ the photos, and he made sure no one was uncomfortable. All the shots were simply amazing. Ed and Jeff are truly artists. These guys only take meaningful photographs, so you won't find them taking photographs in clubs or bars. I met Ed at my friend's wedding, which I was a bridesmaid at. Just wanted to comment on how cool and professional Ed and his team are. He's really good at staying upbeat, drawing on your happy places to get the best pics and even demonstrating what he wanted (cutesy poses haha). I don't think he got everyone's name but that was ok - it was a lot of people. He's super professional. And he even threw together a mini slideshow to show the bridal and groomsman party at the reception. Even though he usually charges an extra $1500 for this option. All because he really liked the couple and the party. All the pictures haven't come back yet but what he showed us was really awesome. Tell me why ...oh why...were you booked over a year before my wedding date!!! Booo! :( I searched over 200 photographers websites for our future wedding photographer and ed pingol came in the top 5. He is more on the pricier side of photographers, but you only get married once, so you have to choose a good photographer! I really love his pictures and lighting. I love how his pictures can also look like art. My fiance and I have scheduled an engagement session and aftershoot session for him to take pictures. I love how he does post processing on his pictures as well. I keep asking him from time to time if our date has freed up yet. :) If it does, I would surely book him as well. When Ronald and I got engaged first thing I searched for is to see if he was available for our wedding day, luckily he was! So scheduled a consultation right away with Monica scheduled us promptly and was very helpful with all the questions we had in business aspect of it. During the consultation, we didn't know what to expect, ( we were actually a little nervous) Ed made us feel welcomed, very pleasant, funny and real down to earth! After the consultation, Ron and I knew no matter what we are going to have to hire him so we did and was very grateful and honored to have him photograph our engagement and wedding day! On our engagement session, he showed up early, scoped the area and of course time to photograph! He took over the session, posed us together, made us laughed, and got us to comfortably posed for the camera.
