Arjay is literally amazing! My husband and I were thrilled and kept showing off our photos from the engagement session to wedding highlights to our family and friends as soon as we got them. We booked Arjay in July 2023 for our wedding this August 3, 2024 for a 12-hour package. When searching for our wedding photographer, we prioritized 1) a photographer who was able to provide us posing guidance for not only us, but for our families/friends in the photos for the formal sessions, 2) timeless, but authentic emotions from our photos, and 3) someone who is familiar/open to capturing key moments within the Vietnamese tea ceremony! Arjay ticked off all of the boxes. Choosing a wedding photographer is a HUGE decision/investment not only financially, but emotionally. For me, personally, I've heard so many critiques from my family members about how certain family photos should turn or should've turned out based on my cousins' weddings, etc. like it was nerve wracking trying to find someone whose style matched our vision and someone my family wouldn't complain about! However, I think the best compliments from my parents/family was 1) my dad said he "looked like he had hair" because most professional photos from previous family weddings emphasized my dad's sparse hair on top LOL, 2) my mom made our family photo her lock screen, and 3) my extended family said there was actually enough time to take photos and the photography team (aka Arjay and his second shooter Cesar) were patient with the large family and wrestling all the kids together! I had been following Arjay on instagram for some time before even getting engaged. Once we started the process of looking for wedding vendors, I knew I wanted to work with Arjay. His work speaks for itself, but I can vouch for his professionalism and passion for his craft. When the pandemic hit, our wedding plans were in limbo. We ended up postponing the main event and just planned an intimate backyard wedding. Every vendor was rescheduled, including Arjay. Being a bit of a photography enthusiast myself, I was pretty bummed as I was looking forward to getting some dope pictures of our happiest moments shot by a pro, especially one as skilled as Arjay. We really enjoyed working with him and getting to know him from the engagement shoot included in our package. Little did I know that my then-wife-to-be had planned a last-minute surprise for Arjay to shoot our wedding day. She actually had Arjay hide in a box for 20 minutes in 90 degree weather to pop out and surprise me at the front door. The man hid in a freakin' cardboard box for 20 minutes to surprise me! If that doesn't speak to his enthusiasm for his work, I don't know what will. As far as the wedding day was concerned, Arjay was a consummate professional. We had only booked him for a short amount of time and he arrived pretty close to go-time. Though I was truly delighted by him showing up to shoot for us, I totally didn't account for photography in our schedule. However, Arjay remained calm and collected, grasped the situation immediately and directed everyone as needed in order to get all the shots he needed in the time he had. Somehow, during all that, he managed to have tons of fun with everyone, cracked jokes, and had a really great time! Our entire wedding court loved him. In the end, we were able to start the ceremony on time and get plenty of awesome shots. He managed to capture all the highlights of the day: every smile, laugh, cry, and detail was accounted for. When I showed the shots to my family members, they were very impressed with the quality of the photos. Can you believe that's my freakin' backyard? Arjay is one of the best photographers I've ever worked with. We planned our whole wedding in just 3 months, and Arjay's positive demeanor and relaxed style really helped facilitate the whole process. He did our engagement shoot, which turned out really wonderful! For our wedding, he brought on an additional photographer, Thien. They captured everything we wanted and more. The one thing I noticed was that I didn't even notice them - which I think is amazing because they were able to get all those candid, genuinely happy shots. There were so many photos that I don't even remember taking, all so lovely and real. Another awesome thing was that Arjay was able to give me a bunch of ideas; I didn't know what kind of pictures to take with my bridesmaids and he was like, "robes, champagne and flutes for a toast shot," etc. I didn't have to think too much, just went with the flow and did what he said. We were working with very limited time following the ceremony, because the sun was due to set about half an hour after "I do." It was super fast paced and all a blur with my emotions running so high, but they KILLED IT. Gorgeous, gorgeous photos that captured the happiest moment of our lived. His attitude is so easygoing and pleasant, he's relatable and genuine and gentle and 100% we're going back to him for any future shoots. He was so patient with me, too! I had a wonderful experience working with Arjay for my wedding and engagement photos. From the moment we had our initial meeting onto my big day, Arjay was fun, professional, and easy to work with! My husband is very awkward in front of the camera and hardly smiles in photos, but Arjay worked his magic and made him feel at ease. We joked around during our engagement photo session, and he was able to capture beautiful and natural photos of us. During our wedding, Arjay was flexible with the many different locations I wanted to shoot at, and he was extremely helpful in directing us throughout the day, made it very fun, and ultimately captured some of the best photos that me and my husband have since we started dating.
