I usually don't do (much) reviews, but wanted to for this place for sure. Had fixed what I thought was wrong for my check engine light (replaced one of the relays) but it was still on after the fact. My registration / smog was due as well. I had asked on social media via people I know / trust and this place is right down the block and the person who recommended I really trust. Brought it in for the issue mentioned above. Had to drop it off and was told the price and that it would be an hour. They called back (I believe I was working with Chris?) and said they figured it out pretty easily / quickly and would only charge me for a half hour. I guess there's another area (that I didn't realize) that also has the relays and one just needed to be set properly. He also let me drive around the following day until my check engine light turned off and was checking to make sure I would pass my smog before actually getting the smog test. They certainly didn't have to do that but I for sure will be going back here when I need to! read more

Theirs is an industry that often falls under the greatest scrutiny behind the dishonesty of others but not them. I have had occasions where I was advised one thing by the dealer close to my house only to find that when we called Kenny - the replacement part was unnecessary and he took care of a repair at a fraction of the cost, or on one occasion with my mom's car, made an adjustment and sent her in her way with a blessing and a smile. I have been a customer here for a few years with my 1996 Pathfinder and always had great work done and a very reasonable price, considering how old my car was. I sold that one and now I drive a 2015 Ford Focus. It recently failed a smog test and was making a horrible noise with a vibration and bad idle. I called and made an appointment for the next morning and they had it ready the same afternoon before 3 pm. They had to fix 4 different problems and it only came to $700, which I felt was more than fair. It drives so smoothly that I cant believe it's the same car! I feel like I have a brand new car. I am always happy with their service and this is my second vehicle I've had serviced with them. I highly recommend this establishment if you want someone you can trust. read more

Good old Eddie, Jack's brother and successor... Last Friday when I called him; it was just under $500 to replace the water pump. I had to take it to Sun Auto earlier because it was overheating and, after negotiatins, they quoted over $700 for the water pump. So, I called Eddie, hoping he had changed his ways Today, Monday took it in and reminded him of his phone quote. , Later,he called and said it would be about $1300. I asked how that could be. Eddie said it needed new belts and a new radiator. I told him the belts were replaced about a year ago and to forget about replacing the radiator (as Sun Auto didn't mention a bad radiator) Well, he said the belts had gotten coolant on them. I told him the belts would stay on. The price we finally settled on was $636, a 30% increase from his quote on Friday. For that, Sun, after I called them back, had quoted $700 and never mentioned the radiator. I should have left it there and I would have had it back on Saturday. Definitely finding someone other than Jack's. read more

was referred to them by a good friend and used them in the past. Took a car in today needed a power steering pump and high pressure hoes. They quoted parts refurbished pump 305 high pressure hose 179. When checking parts AutoZone had a new pump for 179 and the hose for 69. When we decided not to get the work done they charged a $37 estimate fee. This was never mentioned when calling to make an appointment or dropping off the vehicle. Be careful read more

We took the car in to be fixed, it was having an overheating problem...this was 3-4 weeks ago. Thursday night, the car overheated worse than it did before we took it in. The car has been there since Thursday night/Friday morning, and they either haven't touched it yet and are lying, or have NO idea what is wrong with the car. This one car is the only way that TWO people have to get to work. Can you offer a loaner or SOMETHING if you're going to take that long just diagnosing the issue? We've never had problems with them in the past, ever...but this is ridiculous. ************************************** EDIT/UPDATE 7/23 (day after this review was posted) My fella got a call as I was on my way home that the car was fixed. They did not charge us for any of the repairs/diagnostics, as it was something that they should have caught the first time. I received an apology when I picked the car up. The people at Jack & Sons are amazing. They were the friendliest, most honest, and knowledgeable mechanics I have ever seen. Not only did they quickly find what was wrong with our brakes, they showed us and explained it in terms we could understand. We brought our vehicle in about 45 min before the shop closed for the weekend. Did I mention that this is the Friday before school starts back up? Even though they had our van lifted up and disassembled, Jack & Sons put it all back together and got us patched up so that we would have the use of our van over the weekend. Monday, we brought the van back for the needed repairs and the guys there treated us like family. They were waiting with a smile, took the keys and told us not to worry.
