He also suggested taking Zyrtec for 2 weeks, suggesting it might be because of allergies(?), which I did and there was no improvement at all. I still have the lumps to this day. I

The topicals she prescribes as well as her OTC recommendations keep it calm for a good while afterwards. Dr. Higgins' also has the best bedside manner I've experienced with a physician. After a procedure involving my care resulted in surgery being performed on the wrong location on my head, I returned to the office wanting to understand how this happened and what could have been done to prevent it. Instead of compassion, I experienced an incredibly confrontational interaction with Jennifer. She came into the room visibly upset and defensive, argued with me, and repeatedly focused on distancing herself from any responsibility. I made it clear multiple times that the surgeon who actually performed the procedure had already taken responsibility. My concern was how the process broke down so badly that I ended up having surgery in the wrong location. Most disturbing was being told that the words I was using were "red flags" and that I was not a "safe patient" while I was trying to advocate for myself after what I had just experienced. The office manager showed virtually no empathy afterward and made an already horrible situation even more upsetting. I have never felt so dismissed or poorly treated by a medical practice. A patient dealing with the aftermath of a serious error deserves compassion, professionalism, and a willingness to listen--not hostility for asking how it happened.

I went today as a new patient to Advanced Dermatology and Skin Surgery for my annual skin check up and feel so blessed and lucky to have found such a caring, warm, and professional dermatology office. From the front desk staff that welcomed me, to the medical assistants assisting Dr.Zivony, to the staff that greeted me in the hallways, to the staff that checked me out, I was so impressed by their attentiveness, their eye contact, their clear delivery of medical questions and information, and their genuine care for me and my health. Dr. Zivony has such a sincere, professional, and calming chair-side manner. I appreciated his listening to my concerns about a certain mole that I had on my back and giving me clear information about the different type of moles in a way I could really understand. I felt so at ease and well informed. I felt confident that he looked at all of my many moles carefully and thoroughly which gave me great comfort and confidence in him as my new dermatologist. I ended up needing a procedure and again so appreciated the time and care he took to explain exactly what he was going to do and asked if I had any questions. His knowledge and love for his work came through in his care for me. The office space is beautiful: The colors are relaxing, it is clean and well organized, the staff are all very friendly and greet you when you see them, and it doubles as an art museum and dermatology office:) After my appointment I found myself meandering the halls and admiring all of the amazing photos taken by Dr. Zivony's father-in-law. The photos in the hallways and in the clinical rooms helped support the overall experience of putting me at ease, feelings relaxed and cared for. It was the most friendly, warm, positive medical office I have been in. I look forward to my next visit and feel relieved and excited to have found Dr. Zivony and a dermatology office that I can entrust the health of my skin to with confidence.

But he IS good! Almost always easy to get in @ Mtn Radiance. Just been in Asheville for almost a couple years, but never had a booking issue with Mtn. R. - even a few weeks before a major Holiday we seem to get in with easy scheduling. Dr. Z is fast (which we like), knows where to put the Botox and we're definitely giv'n him some stars *****! Botox/Injectables are the only things we've had from him so far, so that's all we can comment on, but we've read the reviews about hair removal and other offerings and won't hesitate when it's time for that. When you relocate from coast to (the other) coast, certain things you gotta know the location of right away (or actually, BEFORE you consider relocation :)... 1. Your favorite local watering hole, Coffee house (gotta love ODD'S on Haywood!), 2. Best and most progressive (and affordable) dentist (cosmetic & general - Dr. Bernier is the best in West Asheville & on Merrimon Ave. in North Ash too!), 3. Best Vietnamese dive (that's hard to get in at lunch on a Weds at 2:00) - ain't found it yet but we won't stop till we do ;(, and most importantly for us, rainbow flag carrying middle aged fellas...., 4. The best Botox place in town! That's Mtn. Radiance and "Dr. Z", no doubt. We are happy, very satisfied and highly recommend the place, and the man-doc and his quick-fix painless injectables. Yay!! Gotta love the quick, affordable and definitely essential Botox especially with his convenient and discreet in and out location! (If you're from West Coast, makes you wanna have a Lo-Carb Burger?) - Happy to recommend the Place & the Doc! Asheville is filled with little "West Coast-like Surprises". You just gotta look for them in all the nook and crannies, but Asheville is leaning brand-progressive and in spite of the Pandemic, we are finding our way around this little boutique, Appalachian town, with leading-edge angles, ideas, services and essentials. It's a "Southern 2020" for us and we are loving Asheville, N.C. West coast fellas can survive happily here, after all!
