We definitely recommend Bruce and his team…read more We were searching for a tile contractor for more than a year, because (1) our bathtub wall from 1935 used non-standard size tiles and no one could source it, and (2) because most contractors said our shower stall needs a full gutting, which we were not ready for. We love our old house and wanted to preserve its charm as much as we could. Bruce was knowledgeable, respectful of our house, offered us multiple options so we are comfortable with the work. Bruce was the only one who found the tile that works. Raul took the plan to perfection. The tile work and grout repair work were seamless. He made sure that everything was leak-free and looked great. Even his demolition was quiet -- I had a remote meeting in the room across the hall and the demo noise did not interfere. He also cleaned up after their work very well. The work site was completely cleaned out. Thank you Bruce and Raul. We will come to you for any future tile work for sure.

We hired Marco from Hardwood Flooring to refinish two bedroom floors and the stairway in our 1910…read moreArts and Crafts home. He came twice to the house, spoke with my husband and I and assured us that the work could be done while we were away for a one week vacation. He promised that the bedroom floors would match the hallway color and gloss and that the house would be ready for painting and installation of a carpet runner upon our return. He gave us a bid and, while not the lowest bid we received, we decided to go with him as he was recommended by a friend. About mid way through our vacation, I texted Marco to inquire how the job was coming. Marco exclaimed that they forgot to do the steps, but assured me that they would be done when we returned in three days. Upon our return we found the company van parked on our curbside, which was muddy and full of deep tire tracks. Inside the house we found that the bedroom floors did not match the hallway gloss, a patch needed to be done in one room and the wood was a different grain and color ( looks horrible!), a new doorway saddle was installed which also did not match in color and the work on the stairs was substandard - they didn't clean out the caulk and stained right over the lumpy bumpy mess. Our painter spent considerable time cleaning the corners out and restraining the wood under that caulk before painting. On top of all of that, his employees had removed the tape we had placed over the doors to our master bed and bath. Someone had deficated in the toilet of our marble bath, tried to unplug the toilet with the toilet brush and had splashed feces all over the bathroom. Marco came to the house, was argumentative and rude - denying any responsibility for anything. He lied about telling us that the color and gloss of the floors would match and his employees lied about having soiled our bathroom. Wish we had not hired this company. Lesson learned - be wary who you trust in your home. Worst home renovation experience ever!

I used this company (Marco) after my usual floor guy was unavailable and I deeply regret it. After…read morethe job was "done", I found that his sloppy workers did excessive damage to my newly painted walls and ceilings, in addition to missing several areas that were not done. In addition, he applied wrong poly finish from what we agreed to use. While I fully understood there would be some paint damage as I have been through this process before, the damage done was excessive and purely due to the laziness of his workers. Instead of apologizing, Marco got nasty me and said it is what it is. He may seem like a nice guy at first, but don't be fooled.

The estimate for painting three rooms upstairs in our house was very detailed, seemed fair priced, and he was friendly and easy to work with and was great at answering our follow-up questions before starting our project. We were able to book the project on the timeline we were looking for, but we were disappointed that the pre-project meeting never happened, as the proposal had said it would. This meant that the crew leader had some outstanding questions for us on the day they started the project, and though easily resolved, would have been nice to discuss beforehand. Where we were disappointed was at the very end when the crew had packed everything up and was ready to head out, we were handed a "report card" of their work to score how they did on various aspects of the job. While we were happy to fill out the document, the walls were still wet with paint when we were asked to score and it was a bit awkward to have the crew leader waiting in the house for us to fill out the sheet. I was hoping we could have time to walk through the area once the paint was dry and take a close look at everything together (my husband and I but he was keeping our two young kids happily distracted at the time), but were told we couldn't mail it in or send it in at another time and had to get done now. It felt rushed and uncomfortable since the crew was waiting on us for them to complete their day, and I didn't look at everything as closely as I would have liked with the work being wet. The next day we went upstairs (where our work was done) to take a closer look and we ended up finding two areas that were missed for painting and some small stray paint splatter on the floor and windows that I missed before. Had I seen this when filling out their report card I would have changed their score on Quality from an A rating to a B+ for them. Juan and his team were punctual, polite, and efficient at getting the work done but if I had a suggestion for improvement, it would be to let the homeowners complete your report card on THEIR time, once everything is totally finished (and dry), as it makes for a very rushed experience at the end.

Somehow Jeff continues to find high quality people to work for him. No matter when we think the project is finished, Jeff and his guys continue to ask "is there anything else you need or want us to do?" He is probably not the cheapest guy on the block, but the quality of his work is worth his very competitive prices. While we got quotes and met a number of contractors and construction companies, Carlos-Waypoint home improvement was most professional of all from the inception--providing a clear explanation of services based on the scope, transparent in dealings and meeting the timelines. Carlos is mindful of customer time and an astute professional who doesn't exaggerate and then reduces the price quote. It is apparent that Carlos has significant years of experience in remodeling the bathrooms, tile work, replacing or putting vanities or replacing lighting and faucets. He could easily draw a rough design for our 4 bathrooms, assisted in suggesting the right material for remodeling without focusing much on his own interest of increasing scope of work. Carlos and his team did a phenomenal job with lighting, tile work, putting the vanities and paint. During the work, there was leakage in one of the bathroom and being a licensed water restoration expert, Carlos was easily able to spot the problem and took appropriate steps fixing the problem making us comfortable as compared to some of the other organizations who like to panic the customer first and adopt unfair means. I would highly recommend Carlos- waypoint home improvement to anyone who is looking for skilled services , honest dealings and getting the work completed within timelines and agreed budget.
