I contacted Francesco about doing painting and carpentry in my apartment. His professionalism and…read moreexcitement about his work was immediately evident. I knew he was going to be the contractor I chose because, when I told him I was looking for something Rustic Tuscan, he immediately said, Well there are three ways of achieving that effect---sponge technique, sandbrushing technique, and Venetian plaster. He listed the relative costs as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each. Next time we met (maybe two or three days later), he showed up with large samples of each technique with a couple different color options and variations. I liked that Francesco was always on time and made it a point to be helpful, professional, and polite during every interaction. Things continued to run smoothly as insurance certificates were provided and work began. Any time there was an unexpected issue---such as a pipe in a surprising place that would affect the placement of a mirror cabinet---Francesco would call to let me know and we would meet. He was very self-sufficient and completed the work at a good pace. Francesco applied Venetian plaster---one shade of yellow in the living room and a different shade of yellow in the bedroom, hallway, and foyer. He painted the bathroom and kitchen with semi-gloss celery green paint. In the bathroom, he repaired a water-damaged ceiling, took out an old and ailing mirror, rebuilt some of the wall as necessary, and installed a new beautiful mirror/medicine cabinet and light fixture. I told him before the job started that I wanted those Venetian plaster walls to look like a work of art. Francesco met and exceeded those high expectations. I believe Francesco is already in high demand and foresee him being in only higher demand in the very near future. We are probably catching what will soon be a very renowned interior painter/craftsman early in his career.

Francesco and his team transformed our apartment into something that exceeded our expectations. They worked through a blizzard, freezing rain and sub-zero temperatures and still gave us daily updates AND completed the job on time, including immaculate clean up. BRAVO. Francesco has an artist's eye for detail and perfection. He's also incredibly patient as we went through several color changes, one of them at literally the last minute-- and it didn't seem to phase him. He was completely professional throughout, and keeps a sense of humor and calmness which really helps when you're moving. We really appreciate Francesco's honesty. We wanted something "different" in the bathroom and had purchased wallpaper. Francesco explained the reasons he thought the paper was a bad idea, but wasn't critical. After researching the matter we discovered Francesco was totally right on. The paper would have been problematic down the line. Best of all, he came up with the perfect solution - a beautiful glaze! It covers the entire room including the ceiling and looks like designer wallpaper. The details are amazing! (see photo) . Needless to say, we can't wait to bring him back for our next project. Did I mention it was a great experience!

The old door, which I think was the original one from the 1960s, was in awful shape; it didn't close cleanly, it didn't lock properly, and the insulation around the perimeter was severely lacking. On the appointed day, NY Renovate got a team down to us first thing in the AM. They ripped out our door toot sweet and put in the new one along with some great sidelights in just a few hours. They also installed all the lock and bell hardware at no extra cost. Once again we were extremely happy with the job NY Renovate did. Wholeheartedly recommended for any home improvement project.

We had a couple of people coming to offer us some quotes and advice. Poli came in and was instantly the only one we were going to start this adventure with. He was honest. Not pushy. Understood our needs and dreams and tried to make them fit in our budget which is probably not the usual large budgets he is dealing with. Yet - he offered us a 5 star service and we are so happy after already a few weeks of us living in the house while he renovates the first floor. The work flow is fast. The team is clean and discreet. I can already see the end and I must say I already want them back for the next project. I don't think many people offer such a level of seriousness and high ethics. I am sure their business will make many more happy home owners :) I will post some pictures once we are all done !

He opened the wall between our kitchen and living room - and what a perfectionist! He matched the opening to the architecture of the remaining house - customized the molding, saddle and fine trim to exactly replicate those openings that were already in existence. This is perfection! Never seen anyone so passionate, diligent and clean. Everyday after he finished, he made sure the house was back in working order - not a speck of dust anywhere. HIGHLY recommend him for any renovation project. If he is available to work for you, you are fortunate indeed!!

Anthony took the time to guide us through every aspect of our project, be it coming to the store with us to pick materials, giving his point of view when solicited, and helping us understand the pros and cons of the selections we were making. He did his best to keep the areas clean as much as possible. I love my new bathroom. Anthony did a great job and when I look at it now, I realize that it looks better than I had imagined! It is built very precisely and the tile work is perfect. The project would have been a 5 star experience had the timing been more what we had discussed and expected vs. wrapping it up 7 to 9 days passed schedule. Anthony did his best to make it up to us and was always very profesional about things. I would work with Anthony again and would recommend him to my family and friends. I have hired BH Charter Oak for services such as interior painting, carpentry, wood flooring, tile work, plumbing and electricity as well as exterior work. At all times, the work was done with utmost attention to detail (in fact, I don't know of any other company who cleans up so well day after day to ensure that even during workdays the house is clean for the owners). I have mostly worked with Harry who leads the operation, and he has always been respectful, courteous and nothing short of trustworthy. He has also provided us at all times with fair prices and frankly the most value for our money from the various other contractors we have come into contact with during the years living in Greenwich CT. In short, I would say this company is one of the best in the Fairfield area and one would be challenged to find better results. I do not write many reviews but felt compelled to do so in this case.
