From the spicy starters to the sumptuous mains, it doesn't matter if you taste ventures more towards the creamy korma, the marvellous marsala or the sumptuously strong rogan josh, there's something for everyone here. The accompaniments are equally delicious and the drinks are served to perfection (the sour fizz is an effervescent delight). With plenty of room downstairs in the Bollywood and a wonderful atmosphere courtesy of the wall screens showing off the best of Indi-pop and bhangra tunes, Hasan's isn't the best Indian restaurant in the vicinity - it's one of the best in the city.

They don't have a booze license, but they almost encourage you to bring your own, or, as the place is surrounded by pubs and bars, you can always nip out and bring some back from any of the nearby places. The chicken korma I had was delicious, and my (much more adventurous) friend was singing the praises of the liver starter dish for the rest of the night, so it must have been something special. Moghul's don't just play it safe - they offer less traditionally stereotypical dishes such as fish and the aforementioned liver, and for this they must be praised. But most of the praise must be reserved for the prices - scandalously low for such fine cooking.

Strangely everyone i know whose been to Moghul went on the advice of someone else. Its odd that…read moresuch a small place in such an out of the way area should gather such a reputation. Still i think its well earned. First off remember to bring your own alcohol if you want it. Moghul don't have the licence but will happily chill and dispense anything you bring. Being right next door to a relaxed pub also makes it easy to sort out drinks if you've forgotten your own (though you may get dragged into Kareoke for your trouble!) Moghul started well, the Lassi (yoghurt based smoothie) was really well made and the various chutney's and sauces served with the starter were really nice. All the starters were impressively sized as were the nan that accompanied the main. We had some debate on the food. I'm a little easy to please and reckon mine was really nice. Very standard affair but well made and just about spicy enough for me. The foody to my right was a little concerned about the origin of his meat. I guess when you buy duck and don't recognise the taste you.... (cry fowl?) sorry. But despite reservations over the taste everyone did enjoy the food. Its a little small and on a day like we've been having recently, incredibly hot inside. But the staff were attentive (if a little dopey at times, 1 glass for the jug of water amongst 4 was funny as was the cutlery count to start with). I think for the price and given the lack of serious contenders in Horsforth that Moghul could almost warrent 4 stars, thrown into the mix in leeds it might not fair so well but for what we wanted it fit the bill perfectly.

The price list does vary favourably for takeaway against eat in and you also benefit from free poppadums & pickles! Service has always been good & knowledgable staff are always on hand to give advice and recommendations. A very good selection of meat & veggie options across starters and mains to keep everyone happy. I haven't tried the desserts due to eyes bigger than my stomach on the prior courses. Definately worth a visit!

There aren't any windows in that bit, you know, and it's not entirely condusive to a pleasant dining experience. Another couple arrived after our starters had arrived and were seated in the same bit but had the common sense to ask for a different table - we didn't think of that... The food, though, was superb. It's not a lavish menu in terms of the quantity of dishes, but it's got a straightforward selection of genuinely delicious dishes. No greasy poppadoms and chewy naans here, thanks very much. Reasonably priced and good service means it's a good choice for a curry in LS7, just make sure you get a good table.

Fingers crossed it's temporary, since they were my absolute fave, but there have been a few things not-so-right of late! I will say, however, they're still the only place I know of who do butter chicken, which is delish. Firstly, the time before last there was a weird unidentifiable item in my butter chicken. I couldn't be sure, but it seemed the texture of fish - maybe crab or lobster? It didn't affect the rest of the dish, which I devoured, but I didn't enjoy that. Then I ordered raita to go with some other bits, which was really just not very nice. And lastly, a few days ago I attempted butter chicken again and the sauce was a lot more watery than usual. Not terribly thin, but much less creamy. Sad times! Despite this, I think one last chance is in order. I did love them so much before, after all. Or maybe I need to actually try a different menu item for once, and branch out...

They offer free delivery and accept cash only payments. They quote 45 minutes for delivery, but normally our delivery comes in about 30. I think the delivery time depends on how far you live from them though and I think i live on the edge of their 5 mile delivery radius. The food always tastes like its been cooked fresh and it always arrives piping hot. We've tried their Nan Kebabs. They have both kinds of kebabs if you prefer your kebab in a pita bread. Their nan bread by the way is awesome. I recommend the Chicken Tika Nan kebab. It's enough food for two people and is very nice. It's full of succulent chicken and veg. I cant eat a whole one - but it does hold up to reheating. It wasn't greasy the next day. We also order the meal deal for two which has their huge samosas. To be fair there is enough food in this meal deal for four people. We always have leftovers for lunch or dinner the next day. Overall the food is excellent and the price is right. Their service is also friendly and prompt. They offer a 10% discount to students & nursing homes when requested. They also have a 10% off on collections over £20 - but this excludes meal deals and set meals. Free delivery in a 5 mile radius to LS7 2PW

It sits on the busy Kirkstall Road opposite the Cardigan Fields complex, and is usually almost full, especially on weekend evenings (best to book if this is your preferred time of visit). Its popularity is due to the fact that it presents hugely tasty traditional Indian and Pakistani cuisine in unpretentious surroundings (true, it could do with a bit of a refurb but it works for me). The meals are very reasonably priced to say that it is clearly cooked by highly talented and experienced Indian chefs, and service is very fast and as polite as it should be. I decided to bite the bullet and went for a chicken madras, which is more spice that I can usually handle, but it went down a treat, especially when washed down with the bottled Indian beer. The naan breads were glorious too. This place really is a cut above most of the rest. I'm a big fan.

Straddling the gap between upmarket restaurant and simple curry house, Sheesh Mahal has all the comfort and service of a fancy restaurant with none of the pretensions, and the food is of a comparable quality to restaurants that where you'd happily pay twice the price. I have visited here on a number of occasions, and over time tried pretty much every vegetarian option on the menu, and each time have found the food, service and atmosphere faultless. A few people I know have complained to me that the décor is a bit dated, and it certainly won't win any prizes for interior design, but if you're capable of ignoring a bit of peeling wallpaper you'll be rewarded with one of the best - and best value - Indian restaurants in town.
