The Book & Bean

The Book & Bean

Such an adorable little shop!…read more We stopped by while visiting my brother up in Blackshear. We're from South Florida, but we're always trying to explore local coffee shops - and we're so glad we tried out The Book & Bean! It's a cozy little shop with countless books to read. It has a nice setup, and although they told us they're still trying to get things organized, it had all the space necessary to sit down, enjoy a nice meal and a nice book. Surprised to see it had a drive-thru - so convenient for the locals!! Hard to come by a great coffee shop where you can either dine-in or use the drive-thru. That's amazing. The staff was so very friendly and helpful. They were on top of every little detail and assisted us with any questions we may have had. We've been to a lot of coffee shops where they just could not get a latte right - but The Book & Bean got it RIGHT! We all ordered different lattes and they were delicious, steamed to the perfect temperature, and they were the perfect level of sweetness. We have our own coffee business down here in Broward, and we are just so glad when we come across perfect like coffee shops like this one. If I lived here, I'd come walking every day, lol. We also all ordered breakfast sandwiches and the donuts, and they were so yummy! We left full and satisfied. Thank you to The Book & Bean for providing us with a great breakfast and a great time. We can't wait to come back the next time we visit the adorable town of Blackshear!

I am always happy to see a Starbucks Kiosk in a supermarket. After shopping here at Krogers I was…read morehappy to grab a cup of coffee for myself and my friend. The staff here, like all the other Starbucks, was very friendly and greeted me very cordially. Very politely, asked me to wait one minute then took my order. This kiosk area was larger than usual and there was plenty of space in the area for seating but obviously due to current events, things have changed. My order is always simple "Vente Pike, no room for milk." With a smile (I can see through mask,) " she took both my order and my friends. A minute later, we had our coffee and were out the door. I definitely like the idea of these Kiosks. I feel that they are very strategically placed and make it easy to grab a great cup of coffee in many places that would otherwise not be able to have coffee available to the public. The staffers are always pleasant and easy to work with. Kudos to Starbucks on their focus of the customer experience.

This Waycross location in Kroger refuses to acknowledge that a Starbucks Iced Coffee is supposed to…read morecome with "brewed coffee, ice." - ONLY. I've confirmed it on Starbucks.com... and on the Starbucks app... both of which show an image with no milk and a list of ingredients (again: "brewed coffee, ice.") that does not include milk... with a total of 5 calories... which is clearly not enough to include milk. I would try to order my way around their stubborn mistake, but there is no way to request "no milk" in an Iced Coffee on the app, because milk is not an ingredient. It makes sense that you can't remove something that isn't included. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try, or what I show them, the baristas (plural) REFUSE to acknowledge they simply learned the recipe wrong. I have gone out of my way to be very polite, but the baristas are low-key arrogant (despite being wrong) and behave as if wanting what I actually ordered is somehow a burden that they will do their best to work around. This never happens at the Starbucks drive through right down the street, but sometimes I have to go to Kroger anyway, and it would be nice if I could get my order right without the attitude.

Purrfect Tea - Cute Decor

Purrfect Tea in Waycross, GA is a local boba, wings, wraps, salads, and waffles spot…read more Im on a roadtrip and stopped by as I have been craving boba for my drive. It's my first time in the area! As a Korean-American, I enjoy freshly-brewed boba. Pretty high standards for boba, yet I'm always open-minded to try different Boba spots. I ordered an Assam black milk with tapioca. I geniunely really liked the Black tea. I love Assam Black Tea and I can tell they use high quality Assam leaves. I recognize that maintaining good chewy boba is challenging as I once operated a Boba cart, but the boba here was literally not edible. I came at 1:30pmish and it tasted either not even cooked or way toooo stale. I couldn't even chew it. :(. Sadness! Hopefully, it was a one time not the best batch. I hope that they can try to improve their boba by either getting a different boba supplier or maintaining the chewiness of the boba, and it would be amazing! It pains me to leave a review with a 2 rating, especially as the first review... but there are definitely ways this shop can improve! The owner shared with me that this is a start up space in a small city, so they are trying their best to expand and scale the business. There isn't much furniture, but it is actively in the works! It has a cute wall decor and a small area for games, which tells me that the shop is community focused. The associate that helped me was friendly and kind. I'm not sure if he was the owner or not, but I hope that he will continue to move forward and add things to improve the atmosphere of the spot. This location has a lot of potential! Maybe a bigger sign for the building (it was easy to miss), some nice couches/seating area, maybe like commercial sized trash cans. There needs to be more commercial level supplies/equipment. I believe these are all in the works for the business! I'm not trying to be challenging, rather realistic bcs I believe this space has lots of potential! There are lots of things that can be improved and I think it needs to be added in order for it to be a space that customers feel comfy and want to return! The Assam black tea was good, which is why it is getting a 2/5 star for me. I have a heart for entrepreneurs, so let's take this to the next level bcs it has potential! I'm wishing them the best!

They have home brewed tea, and use almond milk rather than the powders you'll find at a chain. I was skeptical at first, but the matcha is good and I would come back to try the food for sure. The service was great, he was super nice and gave me recommendations on what the favorites were, it's a small store and truck day, so options were limited but still had a good variety.
