Then they hold checks sent in as payments so they can turn over to collection agency, which is really their own organization. When I complained because they didn't cash my $5 check for over 2 months, instead assessed penalty to bring balance up to $36 then turned me over to collection. I complained about impact on my credit rating and the "collection agency" said they wouldn't report it but would just garnish my wages! Now I just got new billing for my husband who passed over 12 years ago. Someone should sue them for harrassment, and definitely they need to be investigated. My wife and I had used this H&R store a few times for our personal taxes, with moderate results, but it turns out that business taxes are another game altogether. It was time consuming, and I don't fault the guy that worked with me; he tried as best he could to get through all the paperwork, forms, and on and on.
