IF THIS WAS MY GYM I WOULD PICKETT EVERYDAY…read more Whenever I travel, I look for a 24 Hour Fitness. I also look for two simple things: safety and cleanliness. Shouldn't be too much to ask, right? I was visiting from out of town and needed to get my weights in. Ya'll know squats and deadlifts are on a schedule. What I didn't know was that I should've packed a hazmat suit along with my gym shoes. I mean, I pay for a membership--not an archaeological dig site. I came in on a Sunday around 2 PM. The nice stuff (because I'm fair): Plenty of squat platforms (a pleasant surprise) Greeted at the door both in and out (hi and bye matter) Tons of parking Right off the freeway--easy in, easy out The surrounding area feels safe NOW, LET'S TALK REALITY: This place is filthy. I'm almost certain it's never been cleaned. Ever. Equipment is dilapidated, saggy plyometric boxes and somehow, even the weight plates are destroyed. Didn't know that was possible? Me neither--until I came here. It honestly feels like this is the retirement home for all of 24 Hour Fitness's old equipment. If you've ever wondered where gym gear goes to die, look no further. CLEANLINESS: nonexistent. MAINTENANCE: not a priority. WOULD I RETURN? You know it's bad when you think the hotel gym is better than the actual gym. "Bring back Covid cleanliness guidelines."

The Stationary bikes need urgent maintenance. They shake way too much during exercise, the resistance levels aren't consistent on some of the bikes, the seat back is broken on one of the bikes, one of the bikes is missing a foot strap for over 2 months without replacement. Also, the towel and cleaner bottles were empty at 3 stations while the staff were on their cell phones up front for the last 4 days. This was around 9:30 P.M. This is unacceptable because members need to clean and sanitize equipment for our workouts. Management! Please address this matter with the staff.

I am not a typical gym person but wanted to work out with a personal trainer who could address the concerns and goals that I have. He does just that and more. He is not the typical trainer; he knows anatomy and can help with specific goals. He is well read and takes into consideration eating habits, ancestral eating patterns, etc. His place is in a convenient location - near Bishop Arts on the side street, near the corner of Jefferson Blvd (also near the Bishop Arts Theater). As a woman, I had concerns about working out with a male trainer, alone in his studio -- he is non-creepy and very respectful. I wouldn't hesitate to send my friend, my mother, or my daughter in for a workout session with him. His place is well lit, very clean, and organized. He is dependable and the kind of entrepreneur who you want to help succeed by sending him referrals. His pricing is very reasonable and worth including this in your spending plan. You will see results fast and feel better about your body knowing that you are working with a Professional. I have several friends who also go to him and have great things to say about him. We highly recommend Jonathan.

Each class is 30 minutes in length with a focus on both strength and cardio training. The fast paced 30-minute format is divided between 6 stations with 6 rounds at each station in 30- second intervals- with 10-second breaks in between rounds. You will break a sweat- but you will gain muscle as well as endurance. I started to have more energy within days of keeping up with the routine. Classes at Edge are small by design- 15 people max, ensuring that everyone receives individual personal training- with a focus on correct form. William, the owner and one of the instructors has a masters degree in kinesiology-so he always pays attention to the participants, making adjustments as needed to make sure that no one gets hurt- and that you get the most out of your workout. In addition to the top of the line equipment and the constantly changing workouts, my favorite aspect of Edge is the people. The trainers are so nice and so encouraging and super well versed on all things fitness. The other members are equally awesome and super motivating. Edge is it's own little community so if you live in or around Oak Cliff, give Edge a try. The first class is always free and I guarantee that you will want to come back again and again

You will be hooked like I am now. This is a unique fitness class - no, a great group of friends. The equipment is not what you see in a gym which makes the workouts interesting. HIIT at its max - a lot of rotation so you never lose interest and if struggling with one exercise, you move on and do your best at the next one. The trainers are probably the best part as they create a great energy in the room. All physical levels. If you are new to Dallas, if you want to better yourself, if you want to help a local business - this is it. Again, try their free class, nothing to lose but a little bit of weight.

There is plenty of parking space and I feel safe outside. I like how the manager, Eric, regularly walks around the gym and inspects every piece of equipment and makes sure every area is clean and in order. I love the new massage chairs! Making the machines always disposable which is fantastic because it eliminates the need to wait for anyone to finish their sets, etc. The staff is another aspect I enjoy. However, I think they are understaffed because I essentially see the same person every time I visit. Every time you enter, he makes an effort to acknowledge you, so after a while, you just become used to his acknowledgement nod and start to look forward to it. In contrast to other locations where I observe the personnel doing nothing, he also appears like a kind guy overall and does walk around occasionally to clean things. Despite all of this, the remodeling that has been ongoing for a while is the reasoning for the semi-low rating. When I initially saw it, it was honestly funny because a person was simply wandering around with a wheelbarrow of dirt; it seemed so random. Of course, after I learned that they were renovating, it made perfect sense. In any case, they have temporarily sealed off some areas of the gym until they fix it. Which, in all honesty, isn't a big concern, but I will add that one of the areas is the stretch area. I'm not sure what it is, but most days it simply has this nasty lingering smell that is unpleasant, so I rarely stretch there any more. The men's restroom is just another thing that has been divided off, which is unpleasant. You should be prepared to smell a horrendous odor when entering and leaving the gym because they rented out porta potties for us to use outside (they are right at the door). Sometimes it's so bad that I have to hold my breath until I clear out from the area. It doesn't really bother me to use it, but the fact that anyone can access them and that there are now many diseases running around makes it completely unhygienic. Also the fact that they simply moved the women's restroom to the men's and kept forcing us outside after the men's restroom renovation was finished also struck me as amusing. I genuinely believe this to be a case of double standards, as I recognize that women probably need the restroom more than men do, but I believe it could have been handled differently so that both parties could have had a restroom. For instance, they might have just sectioned it off, left some portions free, and accommodated as the repairs progressed instead of closing the entire restroom for the males. Anyway, these are just my opinions about what is happening at the moment at the gym; don't get me wrong, it's an amazing facility. It's a very inexpensive membership, and it's essentially a low-end gym, but if you're looking for straightforward routines and something affordable, this club can be a nice choice for you.
