Orangetheory Fitness Cedar Hill - Let's see what the hype is all about!

I've been working out here for a couple years now. I am a certified Yoga Instructor and Trainer,…read moreand still work in the fitness industry to this day. Yes, I can get a cheaper membership somewhere else, and yes I know how to design a program that is safe and will meet my goals. But I won't do that because the value I get from each workout is worth $$$$ to me. I've gone from a post COVID L/XL to a M even as a Female at age 50+. I love the new Tread50 format, especially after not being able to run for the last 20+ years due to injury. With the constant and positive encouragement from the coaches I power walked my way back to running. If running isn't for you the Strength50 is super too. But the OTF 2g and 3g classes are fire and will give you a solid base to get fitter and stronger. Newbie tip: showing up 30 minutes early for a first time class is something you should definitely do! Use that time to get to know your coach, the equipment, and fill them in on any limitations or injuries you might have. I know you might be shy but it's so helpful for your workout, and you'll be much more confident when class begins. And if you see me sweating along to the music at the station next to you just know I'm totally cheering you on! High five! Full disclosure: I read the negative reviews before posting this and I'm just going to say sit down with whoever is signing you up so you can ask questions. The terms they have are straightforward and pretty typical for any gym you enroll at.

As someone traveling from out of town who normally would have taken an Uber, this caught me off guard, and I was surprised an exception wasn't made when it was clear I was getting dropped off. No matter, policy is policy, the team was very friendly about it and the whole experience. The coach was pretty good, very friendly, encouraging, but didn't really assist with form, which is one of the things I pay for with OTF. Otherwise, I found the whole team to be friendly and welcoming, and even chatted with a few members, this studio had a very good vibe. Due to a large gap between morning classes 5:00, 6:15 and then 8:45, I'm not sure if I'd return (7:30 is my sweet spot) but I certainly comfortably recommend this location.

The outdoor workout area is awesome too, especially when you want fresh air and a change of scenery. One of my favorite things is how fun and creative the space is. They even have a decorated photo booth-style workout area, which makes it easy (and super fun) to snap progress pics or just get a little motivation boost. And the classes? So much energy! The dance class in particular is an absolute blast--it doesn't even feel like working out because you're having so much fun. Between the facilities, the vibe, and the variety, EOS makes it easy to actually look forward to going to the gym.

Let's dive right in: For starters all the cardio machines (treadmill, elliptical, etc) had screens that had everything you could think of & things you wouldn't have. The screens had IG, Netflix, Games, Tv, other fitness apps, & MORE! Let's just say, you would never get bored doing cardio. They had a theater inside & they switch the movies weekly. This time they had Crazy Rich Asians playing. They had a plethora of studios, personal trainers, the BEST equipment, sauna , steam room & even this place called the backyard. It was another semi enclosed workout out room outdoors! It was really cool! I recommend this gym. Its very spacious, it was super clean & honestly they thought about everything when they made this gym!

Perhaps those things could be overlooked, for the boutique quality Snap offers and the convenience to Tom Thumb. What cannot be overlooked is the manager of this location. He suffers from a bizarre combination of illusions of grandiose, wielding his "power" over would-be exercisers with giddiness; and an outright disrespectful spirit. Do yourself--mind, body and soul a favor and invest in a different workout facility!

Never in my life have I been so insulted or repulsed by people in the gym as I have the owner (?) of the W Wheatland Snap Fitness location. This man and his wife are both noticeably overweight, she sits at the back of the gym playing on her laptop while drinking soda from a giant plastic BigGulp jug and snacking, and he sits at his desk eating junk food. He spends his time interrupting people to tell them they're doing their workouts wrong while proclaiming to be NASSM certified. Hey, that's cool, is that why you're so in shape? Because last time a checked, NASSM didn't stand for National Association of Slovenly Slacker Managers. Get real!! If my husband ran a gym, my ass would not be getting fat behind a computer. Don't broadcast your certifications, or run a gym for that matter, if you don't take care if yourself. Shoving donuts in your face and telling people they're doing something wrong is not the right message you wanna send to your clients. Pathetic. Also, he's a pompous dick.
