We had the honor of trusting Jason for both our engagement proposal (1 year ago) & again for our wedding this past weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer -- he truly is legendary. He is incredibly hardworking, professional, and understood our vision. He takes initiative and had clear communication leading up to both of our events. At the Japanese Friendship Garden, he took full control of the scenery, lighting, and even casted wizardry on the skies to create absolutely stunning images. His eye for detail was amazing--from the beautiful shadow silhouettes to perfectly timed candid moments. He coached us patiently and perfectly throughout the session and knew exactly how to pose and position us to capture each shot beautifully. He didn't just take photos--he created art and brought our vision to life. We are so grateful for his talent and dedication. My bride and I highly recommend him for any photography event -- but especially engagements/weddings! Thank you so much Jason, we can now gaze back at all of the beautiful forever moments from our wedding, and relive them whenever we like. read more

Jason Perryman was the very first vendor my husband and I booked, well over a year in advance of our wedding. We found Jason's work on Wedding Wire and then browsed his portfolio on his website and Instagram. We met up for coffee to get more info and were really liked his calm, reassuring personality. His prices were within our budget and very reasonable. Jason's eye for light was the biggest draw for me - you gotta love those golden hour pics! In November of 2019 we booked an engagement session with Jason and we couldn't have been more impressed. When our original plans of shooting at a park fell through, Jason suggested the LA Arboretum instead. We spent a few hours there with him and it was a really fun, laid back time. He made us laugh and kept it comfortable. We were so thrilled when we got the pictures back; we knew we'd made the right choice for our wedding photographer. Fast-forward almost a year to 2020. Covid19 hit and we weren't sure if we were going to be able to hold our small, 30 person wedding. We decide to scale it down to a micro-wedding with just family - 11 people total. Jason was super flexible and encouraging. It was particularly important to us to capture the day with photos to share with our family and friends who wouldn't be there / couldn't make it. Jason showed up on time, was professional and engaging, worked well with our other vendors, and took some stunning pictures. We liked working with him so much we recommended him to our friends for a maternity shoot! We would not hesitate to reach out to him in the future and would recommend him to anyone looking for a great wedding photographer. read more

Choosing Jason as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our special day. From the very beginning, his excellent communication skills stood out. He made sure to keep us informed every step of the way, which really helped ease any pre-wedding jitters. Jason's professionalism was exceptional. He conducted himself with the utmost grace and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. His friendly and approachable demeanor helped us relax and genuinely enjoy the experience. One of the things we appreciated most about Jason was his ability to capture the best moments without being intrusive. He had a remarkable skill for blending into the background, allowing us and our guests to remain fully present in the moment. It was such a relief not to be constantly aware of the camera, yet he managed to capture all the meaningful moments beautifully. Our wedding day was already incredibly special, but Jason's artistry and talent added an extra touch of magic. The photos he captured were nothing short of breathtaking. Every time we look at them, we're transported back to that day in vivid detail. We highly recommend Jason for any photography needs, especially for weddings. His professionalism, communication, and ability to make the moment even more special are truly outstanding. Trusting Jason to capture our wedding day was an excellent decision, and we couldn't be happier with the memories he has provided us. read more

Jason has taken our wedding photos and our holiday/ family photos and each time, his photos take our breath away. He has an incredible eye for light and moments -- capturing our memories in such a brilliant, whimsical way. Our wedding was a long day of activities (rock climbing, archery, ropes wall, etc.), followed by the normal stuff (getting ready, ceremony, dinner, and dancing). Jason and his team didn't miss a beat over ten hours, all the different environments, and all the different lighting. For our family photos, our sweet little daughter is also not-so-sweet, putting Jason's skills (once again) to the test. Fear not! He was able to capture perfect moments between her meltdowns. We are so grateful to have found Jason -- he is the best!! read more

My Wife and I Had our Wedding September 23, 2023 and we were stressing about finding a photographer, as time was winding down I turned to yelp to see my options. As I was scrolling I came across J Perryman Photography, clicked the profile and the pictures that I saw were really impressive. I contacted him and the response time was great, we set up a phone interview to discuss what shots we wanted and how we felt the most comfortable. I respect someone who takes the time and effort to get to know their client. The day of the wedding arrived and he was there ready even before we arrived to mass. He took control of the situation and knew exactly how to guide us so that every shot was damn near perfect. We received all our images very quickly considering the editing that had to go into every photo. My Wife and I were very happy with all of the images and now we might even have to print all of them out lol Thank you once again Jason, I will recommend you to anyone who needs an awesome photographer! read more

Jason was great to work with. Super patient with family members, and gave us the individual time we needed to capture our wedding day. Strongly recommended! read more

Jason Perryman was an excellent wedding photographer. He has truly mastered photography as an art form and will capture your wedding day perfectly: catching special moments, memorializing every detail of the day and crafting breath-taking photos you will cherish forever. There are only pros when it comes to J. Perryman Photography. Responsive to all emails, quality service, and great value! Also, I highly recommend hiring the 2nd photographer (his wife). They are super cute together and extremely professional and friendly. Besides, two is better than one! Final advice, don't tell him exactly what you want or try directing him. Let him work his magic! I promise he will make you look good and the photos will say it all at the end of the day. Look at his work. His website previews are mesmerizing. read more

As soon as I saw my future brother in law's engagement photos from Jason, I KNEW I had to use him for our wedding too. We met with him and put down a deposit on the spot! He was the first vendor I booked (a year and a half before my wedding) and it was the best and easiest choice I have made on vendors so far. He responds to emails and texts SO fast. He is always wanting to make sure you're happy. His packages are reasonably priced (unlike so many high demand photographers that make you feel you'll never be able to afford STUNNING photos). His quality matches that of any high end photographer I've found online with $5k plus wedding packages. He is an artist with natural light! Creative and knows just where to go to get that perfect shot. We had our engagement shoot in Temecula a couple weeks ago and I am literally swimming in the most amazing pictures I've ever taken. I cannot decide what to use for the wedding, I love them all so much! He's the best. Book him now. I almost hesitate even posting because I feel like he's going to get so big that I won't be able to book him for anything in the future! But he deserves that and more. Don't let him get booked on your date. You'll be so happy. I already know who I am calling for any professional photos I ever need!! Thank you, Jason! read more

I was looking for a photographer for my Jan 1st 2014 wedding, and was not having much luck. Every photographer out there was obscenely expensive! My sister found J. Perryman on Yelp, and I took the plunge. He was GREAT! My package included engagement photography, wedding photography, a photo booth, and a beautiful wedding album! Plus, I got all the rights to my images on a USB drive. All in my budget!!!!! J. Perryman was very accommodating to my location requests, and always showed up promptly. My photos turned out amazing, and deadlines were always met as promised. I have recommended him to everyone I know. I had an absolutely great experience. And it was all due to the good Yelp reviews. You will not be disappointed! read more

Awesome!!!!!! We hired Jason for our wedding and engagement shoot. So professional and nice to say the least. He was by far our favorite vendor. His package was reasonably priced yet the service he provided was top dollar. Hire him and you will never be sorry. I never like taking photos but he made the task so easy and engaging. His wife Christina was so sweet and caring. They both went out of their way to make us feel special. If I can only give ten stars, I would. Jason and Christina, Thank you so much for everything. Working with you guys was fun and pleasing. Joshua and I feel truly blessed.... you made our day extra special. read more

Jason was seriously the BEST wedding photographer a Bride and Groom could ever dream of! His packages were affordable and totally worth every penny! He drove all the way to Big Bear to take our gorgeous engagement photos. It was winter and absolutely freezing and he never complained once. We had two different outfit changes. He never rushed us. He was so patient and so kind. The pictures came out absolutely stunning. On our wedding day, Jason took the most amazing photos I have ever seen. Every moment was perfectly captured in time. I cry just looking at some of the photos (They are that beautiful). Jason was by far our favorite vendor. So easy going, so professional and he provided us with photos that will always bring us back to the happiest day of our lives. read more

We worked with Jason for our wedding on 12/19/19 and he made it so much fun to capture the day. He was great with making sure we got the shots we wanted, remembered all of these, and still came up with more content ideas we'd like also. He made us feel comfortable and have fun all the while. We would recommend him 10/10! read more

Jason was amazing as our photographer. We loved his creative and sometimes avant garde style that makes his pictures so unique. He was so calm and accommodating that he made both our engagement session and wedding day so much easier. He gave us a lot of advice and tips for getting our best pictures and always went above what was asked of him. He was also honest about strategy which was refreshing and allowed us to make last minute changes on our wedding day for better photography. His packaging is also a great value for the results, we can't wait to get the rest of our photos for our big day! read more

Jason Perryman is truly talented and the absolute BEST! His professionalism, communication, friendliness, and efficiency are all just icing on the cake! My husband and I met with Jason via a virtual consultation in fall of 2019 and were very impressed. Our engagement photo session was a success and we couldn't wait to see more pictures. We ended up having to postpone our wedding twice and he was so flexible! On the day of our wedding he arrived to the venue early to scope out the place. He gave great directions to our bridal party and family members, and worked really well with our videographer. We were blown away by the few shots he showed us the day after. Then once we saw all of the photos on our private website, we couldn't believe how absolutely stunning the pictures were! After all the craziness of wedding planning, we're so grateful to have such beautiful pictures to remember our special day. I can't wait for my sister to get engaged so we can book Jason again! read more

I wanted to update my review now that our wedding has passed. What can I say about Jason and his lovely assistant/wife Christina... they were absolutely amazing on the day! They worked so fluidly together to capture the special moments on the most important day of our lives to date. My guests were so amazed at how they just "appeared" out of nowhere throughout the reception and were there to snap photos of important moments. Jason worked so well with my other vendors and kept the schedule of the day flowing just right. Though I have only seen 1 photo (sneak peek) from the day, and it is absolutely awestruckingly amazing.. now I'm not sure if that's a real word but I used it anyway because I'm telling you... it looks like it came straight out of a magazine! He is extremely talented in how he directs the poses, how he uses nature as his props and how amazing his eye is for the perfect shot! I'm so excited to see the rest of the photos from our big day and I would absolutely recommend Jason (and I have!) to everyone who will listen. I also cant wait to find another occasion to work with him and hopefully with the wonderful Christina as well again. Thank you Jason!!!! read more

Awesome awesome awesome. From the first day we contacted him, he was fantastic about letting us know next-steps - we've never been married before. :) We booked an engagement shoot and wedding shoot with him. He traveled from L.A. to San Diego for both shoots. And not only that, but even arrived early to scout out shooting locations without us having to be there. From the first second of the shoot, and with all the equipment he brought, it was very clear: this guy knows what he's doing. He wasn't afraid to get down on the ground or climb a tree to get a shot, and we ended up with shadows and cool stuff I've never even seen before. The engagement pictures came out awesome. Love, love, love them. (Delivered a bit earlier than he quoted.) So much so, that come wedding day, every guest asked us if Jason was the same guy who shot our engagement, hoping he was. During the wedding: totally awesome. Got every shot from our shot list plus a few more, had original ideas, and did it all FAST, so we could get back to the party. If mom lined up the cousins for a shot, there he was. He was unobtrusive during the whole thing, taking his shots like a ninja. Only one problem with that: during the course of this whole thing, we've started to really like Jason, and we actually wanted to hang out with him more at our wedding. So we made him jump in a picture with us. Woo! Use this guy before Vanity Fair snags him up, and we can't have him at all. ;) read more

My husband and I planned our entire wedding in 35 days (so it was a bit hectic) and Jason was completely calm and cool. We were married on New Years Eve and not only was he available and willing to work with our tight schedule but he was also extremely professional and provided above and beyond what I could have ever dreamed of! My wedding pictures look wonderful and I know that we will be using him for our family photos in the future. Without a doubt I would recommend Jason (and his wife Christina) without any reservations. I am so glad I found Jason Perryman. We recently did our engagement photos with him and love our photos! We have so many favorites but we picked one to use for our save-the-dates, and have received so many compliments on our photos. Jason is an honest business man, who offers reasonable prices that people can actually afford. Unbeatable price!! Amazing talent. Two of my girlfriends just got engaged and I absolutely recommended Jason's services to them. We also hired Jason to shoot our wedding in September. I can't wait!! read more

I had come across Jason's website on Craig's List. I know, I know, Craig's List!? Yes I'm very suprised about that too! So mind you when I was perusing thru SO MANY websites of wedding photographers and getting quotes for 5,000$+ I was more hesitant to contact Jason because his prices were really inexpensive. After contacting Jason via email, he replied back that the reason why his prices were less expensive in comparison to most wedding photographers was because he wanted to build clientel versus charging an arm and a leg for services. I really loved his honesty as well as loved his swift replies. We decided to meet and when my bridesmaids and I met him, he was so calm and so down to earth and never tried to upsell me on anything that I knew I had to have him as our photographer.. Plus, my husband is a shy/dont like attention-kinda guy so I thought Jason would be perfect. Like I said earlier, I didnt want to do typical eshoot locations like the golf courses, Balboa park or the beach so when I suggested Salk Institute and Geisel Library to him, it was a relief that he was so open to suggestions. We ended up taking our eshoot there and we had the best time of our life. He even got my husband to laugh and smile! At the day of the wedding, he arrived on time with his wife, Christina, who we also fell inlove with. They were both ninjas- doing their own thing, snapping away without getting in anybody's way while we were all getting ready. They really made everyone in our entourage feel at ease with themselves and we al had so much fun taking photos. Thank you so much Jason and Christina for all you've done. They did not give me any stress whatsoever during the whole process of meeting/speaking on the phone/emailing/ photographing our eshoot & wedding. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jason Perryman- he is an amazing photographer. But then again, it's just my opinion.. read more

Jason recently photographed my wedding and I have to say, it was a perfect experience from beginning to end. He is reasonably priced and communicates very effectively. On top of that, of course - the end product is perfect. He made me feel at ease, was fun to be around and was very organized. As a bride, you don't want to worry about your vendors and with Jason - you definitely don't have to. I would highly recommend his photography for your special day, or any moments you want professionally photographed. Wonderful experience from beginning to end! read more

Working with Jason for our wedding and engagement photos was a dream! My wife and I instantly felt comfortable with him when we met for the first time, and didn't even have to think twice about who we wanted as our photographer. I was originally skeptical about an engagement shoot, but it came with our photography package and he suggested it might be good for us to do in order to get us ready for when we're taking our wedding photos [all day]. We had a large bridal party with many different personalities, in addition to our eclectic families. Jason was calm, but firm, and there was plenty of room for us to be silly and to be ourselves during our shoots and the wedding. read more

We hired Jason for our wedding photos and he was amazing from beginning to end. He customized his photo packages to fit what we were looking for. In our first consultation, we knew that we was "the one" by the way he was comfortable talking about the couples he has worked with in the past and the vision he captured for each event. My husband and I are the type of couple that are always behind the scene and I have a scar on my face that has made me stand offish from photos but Jason really made us feel so comfortable that we didn't even know the camera was there and he got some amazing photos. I appreciate the efforts he took to making sure we had great photos because we will never be able to have that moment again. Jason was even in the middle of the street at night getting the perfect picture as cars were driving by. As soon as the wedding was done, people were already asking for Jason's contact information. I look forward to planning other events just so that I can book Jason... There should be another word for AMAZING.. read more

Jason is the best!! If you want to feel at ease that your photos will be beautiful, hire Jason! We found Jason while doing our vendor research on-line and I am so happy we stumbled across his page and reviews. The quality of his photos is undeniable and he has a special vision that is hard to find. We of course wanted posed photos, but we also wanted a little something extra. Jason is not afraid to try different photo techniques to get those truly unique and special shots. Jason was extremely flexible and responsive, which is important when planning such a big life event! He was always reachable by phone, text and e-mail. He worked with us when planning our engagement shoot so that we could catch the wisteria in bloom. Let me tell you, the photos are absolutely beautiful!! Jason was great on the wedding day! He was flexible when taking pictures of the gals and the guys, adjusting the time as necessary. We lost daylight pretty quickly after our ceremony, but Jason was prepared with his equipment and I am sure he got the shots we were hoping for. We can't wait to see our photos! ***REVIEW ON SERVICES ONLY*** I'm getting married this month and was able to book him 2.5 weeks prior by complete luck! He's been contacting me and checking in on me for the past almost 2 months now. He never once tried to pressure me into a package or into putting down a deposit. He stated the truth and allowed me to make the calls myself. Obviously, if I don't put down a deposit then someone else can book him. Pretty simple. Love that he has not once pressured me at all. He has some great packages put together and he was able to customize one for us to fit in our budget. I met with him and he was very professional and nice. He is completely organized and seems to know what he's doing. Before I mentioned what I had wanted in a photographer, he went ahead and told me what he would like to do and.. BOOM! It was exactly what I wanted. Also, he is quick to respond to all emails, calls and texts. Probably the fastest replier out of all the vendors I have. LOVE this about him! Super excited to work with him. I think my fiance was the one who foudn him in the first place. Most likely through Craigslist.
