I loved my dental hygienist, Debbie, because she explained everything to me that she was doing. I am currently pregnant & she was so patient with me when I needed water & did not push X-rays on me. She even told me to check with my baby doctor to ensure it was okay for me to get a new filling before scheduling the next appointment. I've been to so many medical places that don't give you those options or encourage you to talk to your other providers first. I also had Dr. Drake as my dentist and he was very thorough and kind. The first time he entered the stall with the intent of pulling a tooth, luckily I stopped him before he completed the task. The second time he started the visit by reprimanding me for not getting 8 cavities filled at my last visit, again he had mixed up my chart with another patient. The last straw was when at a visit I told him I had been waking up in the morning with a tense jaw and was afraid that I had developed night time grinding and asked for recommendations on how to manage it. He rolled his eyes and said, "just stop". Not exactly the most helpful suggestion for managing an involuntary activity when you're asleep. I switched dentists and discovered that I have a misalignment contributing to night time bruxism which was treated with a bite guard and adjustment.

I started having…read moreinfections in a couple of the implants after a couple of years and I had been going regularly for check ups, but the office said he was no longer there. They did not offer to see me so I was left with these reoccurring infections and didn't know where to go for help. So I would ask my general Practitioner to write me prescriptions for antibiotics any time I had a flare up. After two years I finally found his new practice and made an appointment to see him. He never offered any explanation as to why 2 of the implants were having problems but did a treatment plan at the cost of $43,000. I declined because I felt like he had dropped the ball during his absence and was very Leary of him doing anymore work on me.

Unsure?? I went in for a consultation, sent the office my recent X-rays and panoramic x ray. I had…read moreto explain to them that it was two different dentists that had referred me to oral surgery, and I needed a consultation because the prior dentists had disagreed on which teeth to remove. And, if I needed multiple teeth removed, I wanted sedation. Dr. Strull Sr. looked at my X-rays and did an oral exam and told me not to be too quick to remove the teeth suggested that they could be, and I quote, "Drilled and filled." He said he didn't see the decay. I left that visit believing I only needed 1 broken wisdom tooth removed, so I didn't opt for sedation. I went for an appointment today, the 23rd, to have it removed. While there, the surgeon- I'm not sure if it was Strull Jr or another- told me I needed the other teeth removed. He said 4 in all! That is even more teeth than before! I told them if that is the case, I'd rather wait and have them all removed under sedation. Now, I'm unsure what to believe or think. If the older Strull is making these kinds of mistakes, maybe it is time to retire?! He is a very kind, funny man, but patients need correct information. That is what a consultation is for. I'm so confused and unsure what to do because it is now a question of trust. Do I get a second opinion? But there aren't many oral surgeons in the area close by. If I do need these teeth removed, that is fine; I'm just upset that I got a consultation that gave me misleading information.

Went to a consultation and met the Senior Dr. Strull and the the office staff. Honestly felt like…read moremy wife and I were with family. Very friendly and saved me thousands I thought I was going to lose all my bottom teeth. Then today I met with Dr. Strull the Jr. to have a tooth extraction, He was very gentle and the way he did it was by far the best experience I've had in a dentist office. I'm now going back to have a full upper denture made I finally found a dentist I trust and the quote I received was way less then the others. And he is an oral surgeon. They get 5 stars from me!
