I had been here a few times during my visits from California to my friend here in Tryon. The nail tech was cold and hostile towards me for NO apparent reason. My friend next to me got a very nice person who immediately offered her coffee, tea or water; then proceeded to turn on and adjust her chair massager. My tech would not look at me, offered me nothing and when I asked if the chair massage worked, he pointed to the remote on the side of my chair. During the pedi he jabbed me and nearly drew blood! I got a mediocre massage of my legs and not my feet. Worse pedi experience I've ever had in my life !!!! The icing on cake was his leaving me and going to another client to do her mani. I had to ask my friend tech "who is going to do my mani ?" They found another guy to do it. Thankfully he was very nice and treated me well. I was going to ask for someone else anyway and glad I didn't have to. Wish I had asked to speak to management but I didn't feel like ruining my day, my visit or the Christmas season. Doubt that when I'm visiting again that I will return. One BAD apple can definitely spoil it for a business.

She does a beautiful French mani/ pedi that lasts me a good 3-4 weeks and looks great the entire time. She doesn't use a lot of power tools on me because I only like hand filing. She seals my nail tips so they don't chip or peel. Highly recommend Julie! I'm sad that she's moving out of our area and I'll be searching for a new nail tech. There was no cleaning around the nails -- the tech just used his own nail to scrape the contour a bit. I chose a light color for my toes and a different shade for my hands. I accidentally smudged one nail, and the tech kindly fixed it. The main issue, however, was how rude and loud the owner (I believe) was when I mentioned that the lighter polish felt too thick, especially after three coats. He proceeded telling me off -- quite loudly, so everyone in the salon were privy to his tirade -- that my nails were "too thick" and that "all light colors are thicker." I've had my nails done many times in my life before and have never been told that my nails were too thick or that lighter colors are always thicker. This experience made the whole visit uncomfortable. Definitely not a relaxing or welcoming one.
