This is a fantastic butchers in Pudsey. I came in here to get some braising steak for a stew I was…read moremaking in the evening, whilst out in Pudsey with my Mum, and was again really impressed with the standard of meat. The shop was buzzing when I went in, though I was served within a few minutes so I had time to take a look before deciding. All four of the guys in there were working hard, making sausages, weighing meats and refreshing the stock. The meat was really reasonable, around £3 ish for a huge bag, which was meant to feed three in one meal. Unless I'm stingy with my portions, I actually found that it lasted for two stews feeding five people in total! So, for around three quid this was a complete bargain. The meat itself was utterly delicious - simply 2 hours in the stew and it literally melted in the mouth. It was fabulous and not in the least bit tough! All in all I highly recommend.

I selected the cut that caught my eye, and when I got it to the kitchen I was not disappointed! Well cut and not very fatty at all, I commend them on their skill! The prices were good, worthy competitors with nearby supermarkets. Service with a smile is always a bonus, and the lads in this butchers were very kind and friendly!

Victoria Shopping Centre young street…read morebradford bd8 9tp 01274 498 218 opens; mon - fri 8am to 9pm/sat 8am to 10pm/sun 10am - 4pm This is also my local supermarket and has been since the moment it first opened - ive shopped in the old morrisons and then the revamped one on the same site. As this is the only supermarket near to me i dont really have much choice but i love the supermarket anyway and dont think id shop anywhere else. This has everything i need under one roof and the store is clean and tidy and spacious with lots of choice. The prices arent the cheapest on some but then i do like brand makes - they do offer a value own brand if you want them offering a very good choice. They have a salad bar (with sneeze bar but still dont trust them) or you can go get lots of fresh salad items and make your own. They usually always have a good stock of fresh food which is updated constantly through the day. The staff are lovely and will go see if they have anything you request if it isnt out. The deli/meat counter is good and they offer a good choice for you. The chicken and pies counter is also a good buy with various meal deals to be had - the chicken is quite dear but they do a budget full size chicken which is gorgeous. They make fresh cream cakes/buns/pastries, etc and bread onsite which is lovely. They also have a butcher who will cut a piece of meat for you how you want or a fishmonger who does the same. All in all it is everything you could wish for under one roof at reasonable prices. The cafe is a bit slack in the service and the prices are a bit steep and admittedly the food isnt the best but you cant have everything. The queues are horrendous as there is only one till to pay for everything. They also have secure trolley bays incase you want to leave your trolley while you go somewhere else. Inside the store there is also a travel agents, bank, chemist, bagshop, cardshop and dry cleaners. The toilets could do with being checked more often and there is usually one or more out of order - there is sometimes a big queue for them.

Although the cafe isn't brilliant the supermarket alone more than makes up for it. A fairly large…read moresupermarket stocking plenty of special offers. If you don't mind sticking things in the freezer till you need them then can I suggest you go half an hour before close as they reduce all the fresh breads etc to silly prices. :)
