I called for a roof inspection and they came out the same day. After it was determined that we had extensive damage to the roof for hail, and we made arrangements through our insurance company, we decided to go with J Ferg. On the day of install, they arrived at 0700 and stay until 9 pm. The crew worked hard and it was over 100 degrees... it took exactly one week from the call to do the job until it was completed. I hired JFerg for a new roof on my modest home in Austin after a hail storm 5 yrs ago. I was going from a shingle roof to a metal roof. I was promised some things in the contract before the but found once the started. They were trying to pull back and charge me certain extras that we had agreed would be included in the price. None of the workers that showed up were local or English speaking. So communication was very difficult. I had issues after was installed, and it was very apparent at that time that this company really didn't know a whole lot about metal . I explained to them that water was not rolling off my back patio in the proper manner and was cupping underneath the ceiling of my covered patio creating water damage as time went on. They couldn't offer me an educated explanation as to why that was happening nor could they give me a decent remedy for fixing the problem. After a lot of wasted time. Coming down to Austin from Lubbock (their home base) after a hail storm should have been a red flag especially when they didn't have a local crew. My personal opinion is that maybe they grew too fast and lost the roots of the business which would be customer service as well as learning how to manage money. I'm not terribly surprised that unfortunately they're in the position. They are now. Good news is I found a wonderful local company. That is very educated in metal roofing. I had the six months ago and they have given 100% plus in customer service and meeting all of my needs... We had J ferg guys come to our door after the big hail storm in June to talk about repairing my husbands (very obviously damaged) truck parked out front and asked if we had had our roof repaired or inspected yet. We decided to give them our business on vehicle repairs and our roof and gutters that needed replacing. The roofing aspect of things was a nightmare from the time we "scheduled" the work. I use that term loosely because They took forever to get us scheduled (I had to call them repeatedly) and they kept using the reasoning that they were more busy than usual because of the storm. Well, then don't come to peoples doors asking for their business if you are spread too thin! This company has ZERO communication!! We had specified repeatedly that we wanted to keep our old gutters that they were taking off for my father in law to use and they made notes and assured us that the gutters would be taken down and left on our porch. The gutters were ripped off in pieces and completely destroyed and thrown in the yard. The Vice President assured me (after months of me trying to get the problem resolved) that they would be putting new gutters on for my father in law at no charge because of the countless issues they caused us. This was in JUNE, it is now October and all my father in law has gotten is a phone call each month saying they will "be out next week" and no one shows up. The gutter guy we had the displeasure of dealing with for our home, did not do the job right and was completely rude. The gutters leak and were not done the way we asked despite more "notes" made to ensure it would be. I made the VP aware of this....but still no repairs have been made or scheduled. This is just a sample of what we went through, there are too many to list. Do not use J Ferg for roofing. I will never recommend them to anyone. Use AAMCO for gutters. They are great!! read more

By FAR the BEST customer service and extremely prompt work!! I called to have my roof looked at because I saw a couple shingles lifted, and Mason came first thing the next morning! It was 35* and he went up on my roof to inspect it. I was so happy with his honesty and showing me pics of what was wrong. The next day I called him to ask if he could look at some exposed nails that the home inspector found that day. He told me the job was already done! I didn't even know they had come and fixed my roof! He sent me pics so I can give the home inspector and is sending me an invoice!! This is a business that is dedicated to EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Every employee that we ran across before, during & after their work was polite & dedicated to better than average service. It took two days to replace my roof. The first night they cleaned up, squared the remaining parts & covered up the trailer. We drove around & could tell a J Ferg crew without a sign because of the clean work area. They even have a cleaning crew that follows up to clean any stains from your driveway. I was contacted by several different employees several times during the roof replacement to make sure I was happy with their work. J Ferg replaced my roof just over a year ago. I discovered a leak at the transition between the house roof and the patio roof. I called their warranty department 3 times before a service man was sent out. I was told the leak was caused by a build up of leaves in a crevice. He swept the leaves off, and left them scattered in the back yard. The next week it rained and I still had the leak. I called the warranty department and they told me that they cannot come out and sweep the leaves off my roof every time it rains. I called the person I dealt with when I purchased the roof. He advised me that he had left J Ferg, along with some other employees, and started their own business. I told him my situation. He came out and worked over 3 hours repairing the leak. They replaced my roof after a hail storm in 2019. First, the day after their workers arrived I had two guns stolen from my truck and one from my wife's car. However, had no proof of who took it. Second, after my insurance company paid them over $10K they still wanted an additional $2700 for the roof. This is a small house. After negotiating with the field rep he finally did away with the bill and text me that I did not owe any more money on the roof. Then several weeks letter I received a letter from a law office that had taken a collection action against me for the bill. I contacted the field rep immediately and he again said he would take care of it. Then next day he told me I had to a pay it in full. read more

They are lucky they are getting any stars. The work was amazing! The service from everyone outside of the construction crew was ridiculous. We were over-charged, and was told we would receive a refund. Three weeks later, we are still waiting on that refund. We live 120 miles from the main office. I don't think that the mail takes 3 weeks. I should have gotten the contact information for the roofing crew, so I could just call them directly next time. It won't be JFerg. read more

they took over two months to finish my roof, they flooded my house twice and I got carpet tech to come and clean up the water and save our furniture and carpet. they had to tear out some of the walls and part of the ceilings in the back of the house (four rooms) and then redo all the ceilings and walls. we lived in a hotel for nearly two weeks. I would have to call the rep out of Amarillo every time, because the Wolfforth office would not answer my calls. it was the worst company I have every done business with.
