Botched chimney flashing repair…read more I hired Monroy to replace my chimney flashing that was leaking inside the house and causing water damage to the wall in an upstairs bedroom and my living room below. The job also included caulking the J-channel that ran up and down the entire chimney. Jeff charged $2950 for the job and had a man named Carlos come do the work. Carlos missed caulking a section of the J-channel which is leaking into the house now. After another day of rain the original flashing leak is still leaking so I consider this a complete failure. I had already had the inside wall tore open so I can clearly see the leaks. Jeff has stopped returning my calls and texts so he has no intention of making this right. If they don't get it right the first time you're screwed.

This was verified by the inspector. Instead of replacing the roof, HHI refused to do anything about it blaming it on faulty shingles. A worker from HHI even came back out to the house and agreed that the shingles on the one side needed replaced. The owner, however, refused to fix the problem. I would strongly suggest not using HHI for any roofing needs.

Even the man in FL who uncrated it commented about the beauty of the crates! He even asked if I would mind if he took the wood that was used to build the crates (with the thought of reusing it the next time he was called to make a crate for a customer who is moving something delicate). I thought that was the ultimate compliment to Shawn: that another woodworker recognized the workmanship that went into building the crates. Our back deck had been a disaster since we moved into our house. It was a previous homeowner DIY…read moreproject that was used with incorrect materials, and because of this it was causing the deck to sag in multiple locations. It also did not have any steps for access to the backyard. We spent a year and a half contacting contractor after contractor, no one wanted to help us get our deck up to par. Not one person that came out to look at the deck would give us an estimate on what it would take to fix the deck. Some told us they would only give us pricing for a new deck, others just ghosted us all together. Enter Mark Skerlec. Mark listened to our needs and then gave us a variety of options that could rectify the issues with the deck. After making our final decisions Mark quickly scheduled a date to begin his work. He was clean, he was quick, and he did incredible work. Our deck no longer sags. It no longer bounces when you walk on it. I also finally have direct access to the backyard. The most amazing part is Mark was able to take the time to match up the parts he used with the current design of the deck. Looking at it you would never know that it was once a monstrous atrocity. It is one complete, beautiful unit. It looks great. And I couldn't be any happier. Next time I need work done, interior or exterior, there won't even be multiple calls. Mark Skerlec is the only contractor I will use.
