If I could give this business ZERO stars, I would. Hired Sawyer Brothers Concrete in the Fall of…read more2019 to do a foundation. After many delays one of the brothers showed you up with his 83 year old father in tow. He said I had five (5) minutes to sign the contract and make a downpayment since the concrete truck was already on its way (they had not even set the forms yet). OK... I signed the contract and went to get him a check. When I came back, I noticed that the footing for the fireplace was a separate pour from the rest of the building, even though it was shown as a contiguous (monolithic) pour. When I pointed this out to Ryan Sawyer he said it was OK, no need for it to be monolithic. I asked him to please set the forms as the plans called for and went walked away. Came back a few minutes later, and the forms were still not the way the plans showed. Asked Ryan again to follow the plans and he had a yelling fit. Obviously his customer service skills are about zero. Begrudgingly he cut his forms to give me what I wanted while having anger outbursts and yelling at me "that he will never do another job for me". Long story short - do not hire these people unless you are ready for some drama and disrespect. The quality of the work is not too bad, but of course they cut corners wherever they can (i.e. there was no rebar or wire mesh in any of my footings).

I contacted Mike Campbell, Jr. on Sept 11, 2020, after a friend referred him. (Formerly of South…read moreThomaston, ME, now located in the Windsor, ME area). I know other members of his family and thought very highly of them so I was pleased to find he may be able to do the several carpentry jobs I needed done. His family is honest and hard working. He came over immediately to look the jobs over. He kicked a few of the pieces of siding to see if they were rotting and they fell off my home, exposing plain and untreated wood. I figured he'd be fixing them anyway so I didn't say anything. Then he kicked and pulled off another large piece of trim, now exposing about a foot of flashing under my sliding glass door. This concerned me. He said he'd get back to me in 2-3 days with an estimate and a time frame. He didn't. I contacted him on Oct. 6, 2020 and asked when I'd hear from him. On Oct. 11, 2020 he thanked me for giving him this extra time as he was busy and said he'd get back to me within the week. HE DIDN'T. On Oct 26, 2020 I told him it's now too late to do the outside work I needed done, including painting and fixing a ramp. I also told him I was disappointed that he never followed through and not to contact me again. However, within minutes he contacted me and claimed that when I posted on FB that I was having trouble with contractors getting back to me after the initial contact, or showing up so see the projects or getting estimates to me, it made him "nervous" and told me "bye". I have ALL of the texts to prove everything written here. I have no way to evaluate his work. He never did any for me, only some damage, and I never saw pictures of any work he did. He still posts his name and number on bulletin boards advertising for work. Now that you're aware of my concerns you can be more prepared with your expectations of estimates, materials, contracts and the time frame. Hire him at your own risk.
