Yes, it's in a Mall, and that's just not the best way to start things off...but, let's say...it's Tuesday night...your partner is working late or at a townhall meeting...so you show up to the Keystone Art Cinema a little early, and there's J Crew...an oasis amongst a barren mall -- a mall that's empty ain't so bad is it?
J Crew is not your older brother's J Crew. 10 years ago...it seemed like Ralph Lauren's Outlet in Cape Cod...then, somewhere along the way...they became a place that says, "hmmmm...if we could do it all over again, let's take 1960 and give it a good name in fashion."
J Crew has wised up. And, they've grown. It's a bit like a mini-department store. The biggest shift is they've brought in brands that they love...Levi's, Jack Purcells, Ray-Bans, Timex.
They're looking to brand themselves, "Timeless," via other brands...yeah that'd be a stretch if they're styles weren't timeless. As a guy...I want to buy clothes that last a lifetime, and that don't look like clothes I'd wear when I was 16.
The service is attentive, and interested.
The prices...still steep. But say..you buy one thing here once...let the purchase be your carrying card to go in here whenever you want and wander...they have so many options it's a bit cavernous..and there's therapy to standing in front of a giant wall of denim.
How else will we ever find out about wing-tips and bow ties with denim unless we really consider them in person? This place allows that browsing.

They will ask for your email. It's all over from there...if you give it. You'll get catalogues and emails every week. Most of the people just seemlessly gave it to them, which I was really surprised and impressed by. Just know those cashier workers are sly in their line of questioning! read more
