I shop at this location often, they always have new product and have the best selection of any j crew store or outlet in minneapolis. Sales people are so personable and know a lot about the product. Ehhhhh I am a huge J. Crew fan but this location is bad news! 1. Every time I've been in, it's a MESS! They're constantly restocking and have boxes everywhere and make no effort to get them out of your way to you have to tiptoe around the store trying to get past boxes. 2. The salespeople aren't the friendliest. I noticed they had a better sale online than advertised in store and I got a bit of attitude about them honoring the sale online. Either honor it or don't but please don't be rude about it. I also haven't been asked how things are going in the fitting room or if they can get me another size. Last time I went in, one associate was on hold on the phone and completely ignored me, no quick "one minute" or anything, then another associate came up to the register and ignored me for ~2 minutes before begrudgingly asking how she could help. I was dressed head to to in their clothing and definitely looked the part of someone who was planning to spend my $ there. 3. Their layout sucks. There is so much wasted space in the front of the store then everything else is just crammed in the back. Their shoe and accessory section is in the middle of the store and takes up SO much space. A bonus is that their mens section is a decent size for J. Crew standards. Mens is normally tutee in the back and includes 4 racks but this store has a decent amount of space. read more

What is going on here? I was so happy to see that this store was "saved" after initially being slated to close. Did they lose that staff? Sure seems like it. I was not once acknowledged until I had a stack of clothes sitting on a display while I was looking for my size. Yeah, no offer to help with that either. Did I look too old? Was it because I had Sunday hair? I was very clearly a customer. My bag, shoes and sweater were all J Crew. Then I got the "cashmere isn't included in the sale. Unless you're a card member" line. As a person who regularly purchases mid price point suits, the Ludlow collection proved to be an excellent value. In the last several years long time J. Crew fans have complained about a decline in quality, yet I don't see it. The suits are trendy and fit me very well after alteration. Yet for such a big ticket item it is strange to me that there is hardly ever anybody in the store that can help size a suit, or is knowledgeable about mens fashion (particularly in business wear). The first time I tried to get sized In this store I was recommended a suit far to large. My tailor kindly told me the size I needed and J crew was happy to exchange. Still, I have yet to receive meaningful answers about the quality and fit of their suits when I ask associates. It is simply not a priority to include training on the suit section in this store. For an investment that costs over 800 after tailoring I feel like J crew is ignoring an important customer base. Old reddit threads used to rave about J. Crew. Now everybody is recommending suit supply, which has a similar price. The difference is that suit supply is knowledgeable on their products and know how to get a well put together outfit that fits each individual. Now I know enough to get what I need from the store, but those who are new to higher quality suiting will likely receive little help. Overall I love the product, but hope that changes are made in the retail side. read more

If I could buy the entire catalog of any brand, it would hands down be J. Crew. The wedding section is too much for me to handle sometimes. Holy moly gorgeous. For realzies, this is my favorite J. Crew in the area, especially due to the fact my favorite associate Anthony Chow works there (please stop and read, meow: http://www.mspmag.com/style/stylemakers/citizenstyle/170336.asp). Anthony is wonderful, and always finds some great options for me and the mumsy to try on. Other than Anthony, this location is superb, due to the selection of merchandise. The J. Crew on grand is a favorite of mine as well, but I more often make it to this location, as it is more convenient. Tip to the college students and teachers: You get 15% off all non-sale purchases! Sometimes, they will even give you it on sale if you're lucky. Also, this location will sell out of new merch REALLY fast, so don't hesitate to buy and then return if you realize it's not for you. read more

This J.Crew is my favorite location, but it is nice nonetheless. The employees are very helpful, honest (especially when telling you how something looks), and seem to enjoy their jobs (which is refreshing). The men's section is pretty decent in size and they tend to keep everything stocked well (their clearance section is incredibly small if that's something you look forward to). I would recommend this store over a lot of the others, but it isn't perfect. read more

Can I just say SNOBBY? Yesterday, I went into the changing room and there was no line. There was a door wide open with no personal belongings in it, and only a pair of pj's hanging on the rack (looked like they had been tried on). So, I went in and began trying my things on. Two minutes later, a worker in her 20's is knocking on the door telling me I took someone's dressing room and needed to find a different one. I asked if I could finish (as I only needed a minute or two more), and she told me no, it's already being used. My jaw dropped. She then proceeded to apologize to the other customer in front of me, and didn't even help me find another open dressing room. She was super snobby and rude. Worst customer service I have ever experience. My hubby and I got a good laugh as we were paying and saw that the location is closing. Us spending our money gives you your job, honey. read more

I spend a lot of money at J Crew, and yet she has made me feel like I am not good enough for that store - even though I am wearing JCrew head to toe.
