I was reluctant to try The Grimm Trim due to the negative reviews I saw online. However, despite the bad reviews, I decided to give the shop a try because I work very close to the establishment and I read somewhere they were under new management. The one thing that you will notice immediately upon walking in the doorway is the stench of cigarette smoke. I didn't actually see anyone smoking but the the shop did reek of smoke. That is really my only gripe. The gentleman who cut my hair (Cindy was out on the day I visited) did a great job on my cut. He did exactly what I asked. My advice to the owners would be to clean up the shop and ban the smoking. Barbershops should feel clean (sanitary) and this one did not. However, I will likely visit this establishment again; unless I can find a cleaner alternative that is nearby.

When I plan on a trip I adjust my haircutting schedule to make sure I get it cut before travelling, because I hate the idea of somebody I have never seen before cutting my hair. This is by far the worst haircut experience I have ever had…read more I went to get a haircut and showed the stylist there 3 different versions of the style I wanted (Front facing and Layered on top) and told her a 0 to 1 fade on the side. The fade was so poorly blended that after trying to have her correct it one time I just said it was good out of fear that she would mess it up more. When she started cutting my top she cut off a lot, but I trusted her to give me the style I wanted. After I realized she was trying to swoop my hair to the side I voiced my concern and re showed her the pictures and why I was concerned it would not look the way I wanted. She said I was right and said that she didn't realize what I wanted and basically said that I should just wait for my hair to grow. If my hair wasn't bleached that would be OK but now I have to wait till my hair grows all the way out again so I can cut off the bleached part and re bleach. (Which will take at least 5 months). Please don't ever risk getting your hair cut here unless you are ok with wanting to buzz it off after. (Which she told me a lot of people did after she cut their hair.) If you want a good haircut see Amber at Henni's Hairshop. She is my usual stylist and I am so regretful I didn't see her today due to her being on vacation.

I had come in thinking it would be very straight forward but because I'm not a stylist I put confidence in them and tried to trust the process. All I wanted was for the roots to match the rest of my hair. I would just like a refund as it was 170$ in all at the end of the day and it's worse than when I went in.
