I have an old home and I had to repair some bathroom tiles in my master bathroom. The great thing is that he was a good and was very respectful of me and my wife. He listened to wife's concerns and made everything work. He was very neat and did a solid job. He was so efficient with his time I hired him on the spot for a second job to replace an out door light in my drive way. He also works with his son and I thought that was great. I definitely recommend him.

I'm very upset. The main job was to re-grout & seal grout lines in our upstairs shower that had…read morestarted leaking. He also was here to fix a faucet handle in the downstairs bathroom and look at a shower temp control upstairs (same place the grout was being redone). He showed up on time, and I left him to his work. The downstairs handle was loosened up (it was getting hard to turn). The grout... he said he was all done pretty quickly. The lines did appear to have been siliconed, and he'd used a power tool to clean them out. Fine. It was a messy job, but he said the silicone he'd gotten on the tiles would come right off. Not really. It took a razor blade, but fine. The price for the grout and the downstairs handle was $350. He was here less than an hour. Now, the temp control. I told him I thought it's just a cartridge that gets replaced to fix the leak. He said no, he had to get into the wall, cut pipes, etc. He might be able to come in from behind and not tear up our tiles, but I should get needed parts, and he'd charge $1,100 for labor. Plus, he'd be tearing up a wall (and maybe shelves, depending upon exactly where he was going to cut the wall), and I'd have to get all of that repaired. Fortunately, my spouse is smarter about this stuff than I am and didn't like the sound of any of this. So we looked around for a licensed plumber. It's not easy to find a good one, but fortunately we did. The plumber came in, checked it out, and told us to get a replacement cartridge for the temperature control. He said, no, of course he didn't need to tear up the wall--why would anyone do that? You just take the cartridge out and put in a new one, just as I thought. The plumber cost $175, and the job was done. A licensed plumber... just $175 versus the $1,100 and torn up walls I was quoted. Then the plumber commented on the grout. "Did you do this?" I said no, we hired someone. "You PAID for that?" He wasn't saying that just because it was a sloppy job, which had bothered me. He said, "there's a bunch of mold that wasn't taken out. I can see it sticking out all over the edges of that silicone. You have to pull all of that out and redo it." So that's what we've been doing today. We went to buy a grout removal tool, mold treatment, and the rest of what we needed. What should have been done! So we're re-doing the job we paid twice the plumber's bill to have done. And as we remove silicone, we can see that all of the grout hasn't even been replaced. It looks like he used his power tool, took out some grout and them siliconed over the whole thing. Not quality work at all. I'll attach some photos of this work we paid for. UPDATE: I see that he has left a comment, not apologizing and instead denying what he did. There's no mistake here. This is the right business, the work was poorly done, and he was trying to hit me for unnecessary work at a steep price. Steer clear.

Unfortunately this came to a startling halt. When we made the decision on our colors it was made very clear that we wanted Dunn Edwards. This was very well known and samples for provided to us in the large block samples. Since things are pretty busy out there, Robin asked if we would not mind giving those back once work began as they may need them for other customers at some point. We didn't think anything of it and so we offered to give those back. Looking back we really wish we had never done that. You'll find out why. We went through the process of getting our colors approved. Colors requested were approved through HOA to be Dunn Edwards. We set the date for our paint to get done. We were super excited as this was a big purchase for us on our home that we plan to stay in to retire in. We've never done a big purchase like this on a home that we have owned since we got married. So as you can expect this is pretty exciting for us. So starts the process, and make it busy doing the patchwork and getting prepared to put the paint on. We were never informed of any need to substitute to an alternate brand, in other words to color match. Two of the four colors are not terrible, but not 100%.The other two are completely wrong. We tried to address this, but had no resolve. They made the choice to proceed with color matching outside of the brand chosen, and won't take responsibility for the fact that they didn't come close to matching at all. Yet, they want payment in full. They never cleared the alternative brand with us, and just tried to pull a fast one on us, hoping we wouldn't notice. Well, we noticed. Sherwin Williams doesn't equal Dunn Edwards. Not even close. Such a shame.

If many of you have followed my posts, I am always supporting wonderful contractors, housecleaners…read moreand local businesses. However, unfortunately, I hired a contractor by the name of Ryan Bartreau with Percision maintenance LLC (480) 332-0688. His bid was $900 more than the other two bids that I had, but I decided to hire him because he was a registered contractor and I figured he would do excellent work; you get what you pay for.... or so I thought. Fast forward, I hired him to refinish my cabinets from the original black to a cotton ball white. During the first day he was here, I stopped him on several occasions to point out that the black was seeping through the white coat that he was painting. I very tenderly and respectfully asked him if the cabinets perhaps needed more primer? He assured me that it would take 7 to 10 days to cure and that I would be very happy with the finished project. On Sunday he came to reinstall the doors that he had taken home and finished. He was at my home for about eight hours. Again, before he left, I mentioned that on several spots there was chipping, paint seeping through and that it did not look "finished". He became very angry and said to give it the 7 to 10 days and that I would be satisfied with the end result. Today is day nine and the cabinets look the same. I called him to discuss my concerns and several hours later he returned my call by screaming and yelling telling me that the job was "completed and he would not come back." And he hung up. I have filed a complaint with the ROC. I want to be sure that none of my neighbors encounter this issue. I paid him over $3000 for the project and I am heartbroken that I have cabinets that are unfinished. He claims that he cannot do anything more. The pictures I'm providing are photos of the black that has seeped through my white and grey freshly painted cabinets. My cleaning girl also spent over an hour picking up paint that had spilled on different surfaces within my home. On Sunday he brought a 15-year-old "helper" to help and now I'm questioning the ethics and legality on that. I've had over 15 contractors comment on my editorial I did for my neighborhood which claim that he did not sand and prep the cabinets correctly. I'll be working this out with the ROC, BBB and small claims court.
