Right away, Zach took the time to walk me through each item on the quote and explained that some of the repairs weren't even necessary at this time. The way he broke everything down made complete sense and it quickly became clear that the other shop may have been trying to charge me for work that didn't actually need to be done yet. It's rare to find a mechanic who is that honest and transparent. You can tell Zach genuinely cares about helping customers and doing the job the right way, not just making a quick dollar. That kind of integrity really stands out. I highly recommend bringing your vehicle to Turnpike Garage. They work on all makes and models and clearly have the experience and knowledge to do the job right. If you're looking for an honest shop you can trust, this is definitely the place to go.

My husband and I had been having a few minor problems with our old 2002 Honda Accord for a while…read morebut, when we went to trade it in, the dealer would only give us $1,000 because the "check engine light" was on. Seriously? Well, we thought it might be the transmission because we had been experiencing some "slipping", so we tried to find one of those big-name places to take a look for us. The Aamco that showed up here on Yelp was not where the address said it was (of course) so we looked again and found Mistech in a Google search. I called to make sure they were actually there and told the gentleman on the phone what had happened. I asked if he had time to take a look and do a diagnostic. He said sure, bring it around 1:00. We showed up and the worker (Jay, I think) came over and plugged his computer into the car. A code came up that said it was the O2 sensor. Now, I had brought this car to "my guy" about three times in regards to the problem with the slipping and the light and he kept telling me it was damp wires. -__- Not only did Jay tell us what it was, he showed us the codes and then proceeded to tell us we could probably fix it ourselves. When I asked how much for the diagnostic, he said, "Nothing." We went to an Advanced Auto Parts store and got the part for $75. My husband replaced it in about five minutes and the light went off and the car suddenly runs like it did when I first got it. Mistech was honest, friendly, and helpful (said we could call later and come back if need be) all for nothing for people who didn't even live in the area! If we EVER have a real problem with our transmission, we will CERTAINLY go back!!!

He…read morealways provides me with a very good estimate of what the repair will cost me before the work and has serviced it on a last minute basis a few times. When I was looking for "new" old car, I brought the one I picked by his shop and he inspected it, put it up on the lift and checked everything out before he gave it a thumbs up. I had called beforehand to ask if I could stop by and he said "Yes, I want to make sure you get a good car. I'll look at it free." There was a light that went on on the dashboard, I brought the car to him and left it there for a few hours. Later when I came back he told me what sensor was causing the light to go on. He said he checked that sensor's part and it was fine, looked over the whole area, to be sure. He said, "I think the sensor is busted, but the part is fine. I could replace the part, but there's nothing wrong with it. Even with a brand new part, the sensor is probably going to continue to make the dashboard light go on." So, he could have just replaced the part, told me the sensor problematic and charged me for the service. But instead, he charged me nothing. Told me to bring the car by to have the computer read the car to make sure that was the only sensor that was misbehaving. Larry cares about his customers, their cars, and their pocketbooks. Anything he has fixed on my car has stayed fixed. When he changes my oil he looks over everything for me. He's a great guy and it's rare to find someone who cares so much about their work and their customers.
