Wish there were more stars to give this place because it was that good!…read more In a strip mall, unassuming and quaint but truly has some of the best Halal food I've eaten. They have kiosks to order but the staff was happy to see us and take our orders. The price points were decent and the portion size was great considering the price. Also if you're there, get the hot sauce. It is incredibly spicy but so so good!

They were parked outside the Market office (next to the guy hawking boxes after boxes of miscellaneous things ranging from bras to peelers). Their menu was fairly limited - they had the tawook pita or the beef pita - both $5ish. I got the tawook pita - extra spicy (obviously). It was chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, cooked on a grill. Then they build the pita with lettuce, tomato, onions (tossed in tangy sumac), garlic sauce and a 'spicy' sauce. After rolling the pita, they put it on the grill to put some grill marks on the outside. I couldn't believe how good it was. So, I did all the Yelpers a favour (yeah, right.) and went back yesterday. They were in the same-ish location and were giving away samples. Most people declined (who says no to free meat?!) but not me. I tried the beef and it was good - mildly spiced and flavourful. While I was waiting, a lady wanted the beef pita but without the pita. They obliged and made her a salad of sorts without the bread. I ordered 2 tawook pitas and chatted with the 2 guys manning the grill. They mentioned they were Iraqi and just started the food cart 3 weeks ago. They hope to open a brick and mortar location eventually. My boyfriend was very lucky as I actually let him have one of the tawook pitas and he loved it as well. He described it as "flavourful and garlicky". I hope they will eventually add to their menu and open a restaurant - we could use a good Middle Eastern place in Rochester!

They serve classic all beef, grilled, hot dogs with any of the following items kosher New York City sauerkraut, freshly grilled onions and peppers, spicy pepper relish, onions, classic pickle relish, Nancy's mustard, and of course ketchup and yellow mustard. They even have veal dogs, Italian pork sausages, and chicken spiedies (grilled chicken cubes in a hotdog bun -- spiedies are an upstate NY invention). I have tried all of these options and they are all fantastic, but I am a purest and love the kosher all beef dog with grilled peppers and a touch of sauerkraut the best. You can also purchase frito-lay bags of chips and bottled/canned drinks. He uses local wieners ...tee hee....from Hofmann's franks based out of Syracuse New York. Lou notes that he thinks that "central New Yorkers prefer the grilled flavor to the classic New York city steamed or boiled hot dogs." This is why he switched to a gas powered grill in 2001. I can't agree more, I love the grill. Lou is super friendly, and he'll chat with you as he prepares your dogs. Its $2 per hot dog. One dog is a great snack, 2 dogs or 1 chicken spiedie is a great meal. I never "plan" to eat here as the hours are dependent on the wether, I usually see them while walking around the commons and can't resist.

I'm surprised there aren't more reviews. The food is fantastic. The prices ($3 for sausage with…read morepeppers and onions?!?!) are incredible, and Lou is an extremely nice guy.

I absolutely adore that on nice weather days they turn around their whole operation and allow people to wait and be served completely outside. The line moves crazy quick, so don't be discouraged if you see the line is long on your next market trip. I have been to the Park Ave location numerous times, and usually opt for black coffee for our market visits from Javas instead. I am so glad we made the choice to grab chais! I went with an iced chai, vanilla almond milk, half sweet with a shot of espresso...quite the long order. The barista accidentally forgot the shot and then they (incredibly kindly, after I brought it to their attention) added two shots in for my caffeinated pleasure! I was READY for anything :) I just love this business and think that kindness is built in to every single interaction. There are so many options to switch up your chai order, from milk to sweetness to espresso to flavors...the combos are endless. Highly recommend enjoying a chai during your next trip to the market!
