1 Star rating too high. But rating required. BEWARE!!!! Caution!! Referred by atty. Told BEST…read morein area! I have only lived here 3 years. So, I am unable to judge nor comment on his professional physical surveying abilities. But hiring this fellow turned into a nightmare!! Finished survey and told my witness and I that survey would be forthcoming that week. Multiple days passed. Worried it was lost in regular mail. So I sent nice email asking for update. Came down to this: he stated that receipt he sent in mail is proof and all that was needed for court. 1 1/10 hour = $$$$$$. Instructed "ME" to print out Deschutes County plot/map from Deschutes-Dial and to sketch encroachment findings myself. What??? Apologized if I misunderstood, but his "stamped" survey necessary. So he demanded more money. I felt at a disadvantage, but agreed. Also, atty advised me to do so. Left check on front door, DeJarnatt cashed 2nd check same day. Paid in full. Upon receiving 2nd email with attachment, I had a few questions about his mechanical sketch. Emailed him just a few questions. he replied that should I have any questions contact my atty. Later in day, asked neighbor if he/she witnessed anyone on my property. Following day received follow-up email with a 4" mechanical sketching indicating problem area. However, map now veers away from stakes and previous verbal findings!!! Only saving grace is photos taken during first visit by witness. Includes stake positions, flags, photos by third party witness. Luckily, photos and flags proved substantial, intentional property encroachment via unauthorized fencing. ALSO, during his discussions he got personal about politics and religion. Totally inappropriate interaction but I did/nor said nothing. Bottom line, be forwarned. It felt like pulling teeth to get completed documentation. I still have NEVER received a survey. AND, guess what I got for all this grief and $$$?? In the end, 2 emails regarding his work and a receipt via snail mail, a 4-line printed receipt re amount paid and short sentence regarding stakes, flags utilized. No plot/lot references, no narration. Did I say I have the smallest lot in a new development? All legal metal property stakes less than 5 inches under dirt. 5 stakes, 5 flags total. I have had previous surveys done in the Corvallis-North Albany area. Pleasant, time effective, stamped, surveys with substantial evidence of property issues. Quite impressive and helped greatly with deceased parents property lines. So there you have it. Hopefully, this posting will help others. I certainly don't want to think that being a older, single woman had any bearing.
