Luke Neathery removed my large pond to install a smaller one also with waterfall. Months before new construction, he plugged 3 pieces of pond equipment into a 2-plug electrical outlet box after I advised him not to overload, burning it up a few days later. He disposed of the box, never offering to replace it. When the new pond was installed 4 years ago, he again plugged in 3 pieces of equipment that has since been running 24/7 on an extension cord with a 3-outlet adapter, laying on top of a nest of tangled cords on the dirt with dried pine needles. Before leaving on vacation 3 weeks ago I went to unplug the doser for the winter and the entire adaptor, plugs and cords were burning hot, blackened and melted! He is NOT a licensed electrician and twice now has put me in danger and my property at risk of burning! read more

We wanted a backyard that would be an extension of the new home we love and searched for months for a company who could bring vision and life to the mounds of rock and dirt that existed. Many of the landscapers we spoke with wanted us to design the yard ourselves or wanted to charge an astronomical amount to draw plans. Others spoke mostly about their maintenance services and associated monthly costs. When we found Neathery Landscape and Maintenance, I was already done having these conversations. I was tired of people with no time for me and no vision for our life. So I watched a video on the Neathery Landscape website instead. Luke's first comment drew us in. He was highlighting the difference between companies that maintain landscapes (mow, edge, weed) and those that are passionate about making an oasis. We scheduled a meeting so Luke, the owner, could come look at our yard. He was warm and friendly, and I noticed that while in our home, he attended to our views of the backyard from the windows. When in the yard, he walked the perimeter, but then stood for a few silent moments and took in the topography. Instead of asking what we wanted, he asked how we wanted to live in our yard. I described my love of sun and warmth, how we are soothed by the sound of water, and my dream of sharing a glass of wine on the patio with my love when we were both done with a hard day of work. He also immediately made friends with our dogs, and asked about how they use the yard and what we wanted for them. His eyes lit up as he started talking about what he envisioned and we got caught up in his excitement as he walked each part showing us where the patio, water feature, walkways, and flower beds would go. He talked about blue spruce and expansive boulders and tall trees for privacy. He spoke with joy and passion. And then...he and his amazing crew delivered on every single promise of that vision. We left for vacation, entrusting our home and yard to Luke, Marco, Riley, Joel, and Vic. I got to watch them work for three days before we left, interacting with each of them, asking questions, and seeing how they interacted with Luke, with each other, with our dogs, and how they worked. I was always safe, respected, and heard. When I had questions they provided detailed answers and explanations as though they had all the time in the world to speak with me. Then, they went right back to work building our dream. Luke and his crew attend to every detail. I am amazed that when I look out of our windows at where the trees are planted they all seem centered with the windows. When I step outside, they all are centered with the fence posts. I can see the water feature clearly from every window and when I stand at the kitchen island prepping a meal the water feature is still in full view. The patio pavers are stunning. He heard of our love of curved edges and how we like to maintain the lawn and he gave use curves and grass and flower beds where we can play. He even created an area of turf with biodegrading sand for the dogs. I think more than anything, what we loved is that he was just a decent human being - always kind, friendly, accommodating, and flexible. He did what he said he would. I am a bit jealous when I meet someone like Luke because somehow he knew to follow his passion - to do what he loved from a young age and to make a success out of being himself and trusting his talents. We are so blessed because he chose this profession. That yard - our oasis - was worth every moment and every dime (which was incredibly reasonable, by the way). This is our happy place! I'm not one to post a review for excellent service. As a general contractor I expect subcontractors to perform their jobs in an excellent manner. But Luke and his crew have gone beyond exceptional design and installation. Luke has a designers eye and is flexible with changes. His creativity with design and installation of water features is especially keen. Pricing and cost effective ways to accomplish a project is a strong attribute of his company. Additionally, his crew, namely Riley and Joel are very hard workers and respectful to customers. Luke worked fast and was polite, (he says he's sorry alot). I think his landscaping work is subpar. He installed sprinklers and sod in my backyard. The outcome was that the seams didn't come together, there were multiple missed spots, water didn't reach the edges and many pieces were to small to survive or take root, so most of the edges died and had to be reshaped by another landscaper. Also, the area I had him weed and mulch is the only place in my yard with weeds which need constant attention. Not at all impressed. read more

Luke winterized our sprinkler system. He showed up on time, knew exactly what to do, and did a great job! Highly recommended!

On time, on budget, well priced and great to work with! They went above and beyond to get our sprinkler system in and everything prepped for sod. We have about 1/2 acre of lawn in the backyard so it wasn't a small task and we couldn't be happier. Highly recommend! read more
