I don't have enough time to fully detail my experience with Newport Landscaping, but I can…read moreconfidently say I would never give this company another penny. I hired them for roughly $100,000 worth of residential landscaping work (no hardscaping, just grass, mulch and planting), and the results were extremely disappointing -- both in workmanship and customer service. The experience deteriorated to the point where I had to threaten legal action and report them to the Oregon CCB for breach of contract before anyone took my concerns seriously. A few highlights from the experience: * The project manager showed up to my property multiple times smelling strongly of alcohol -- on the rare occasions he actually came to the job site. * The professionally designed landscaping plan we paid for and provided to Newport was not followed. Major deviations were made without approval, which created unnecessary issues throughout the project. * Their estimate severely underbid the amount of mulch required for the property -- by more than 40 yards. This caused delays, frustration, and obvious concerns about the competence of the planning process. * Coordination between Newport Landscaping and Thompson Pump & Irrigation was terrible. I essentially had to act as the general contractor myself just to get the irrigation pond functioning properly, and it took months to resolve. * Jana, who I believe is an administrative manager, initially came to the property, listened to concerns, and assured me they would make things right. Unfortunately, nothing meaningful happened until I began threatening legal action and filing complaints with the CCB. There's far more I could say, but the bottom line is this: this company appears far too large and disorganized for the level of professionalism they advertise. Even some of their own employees openly complained about the company and management while on-site, which frankly is embarrassing. Read the 1-star reviews carefully. You may get lucky and have a good experience, but you may also end up deeply regretting your decision like I did.

Demian and his crew could not be more amazing. I have a very cute but overwhelming Xeriscaped…read moreyard, that after a few years of trying, was too much for me to do on my own. After reading that they prune inside out, and not just hedge trim, I wanted to see if I could work with them. They did a HUGE spring clean up on about 1/2 my yard (the front 1/2), removing tons of weeds, pruning, removing mistletoe form tree, just overall, doing some long overdue love for this darling yard. I had done my best- but I just could not keep up. They even brought in rock and ensured irrigation was covered. While it was a little more than I had planned- it was ABSOLUTELY worth it. No other spring clean up service would have done 1/2 what they did! Worth every penny. I work 2 remote roles- and I joked with them that I would happily figure out a third job to be able to continue using these services in the future. We only did 1/2 to stay in my available budget- and will do the other 1/2 major clean up in the fall. Demian will work with you to get your priorities in your budget. Be a little patient if you have a smaller project- they WILL get to you and get back to you- but it is a small business and they fit you in in between larger projects. And in all honesty, they were my first choice, but I was also contacting 6-8 other similar services. Most never called back, or if they did it was weeks and weeks out before they could even come take a look. Demian and the the guys called me back, said they would be over to take a look and start the job a few days later, and ta da- my yard looks brand new again! Now I can keep up with the weeds until they come in the fall- and I get TONS of complements- my neighbors have all commented how good it looks! I cannot say thank you enough, or emphasize the value of what you get with these guys- they really know their stuff, and they will do things RIGHT, so your landscape not only looks good- it is also actually healthy! WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Springtime was engaged by our plumbing company to excavate the water line from the meter to the…read morehouse in preparation for running a new line. Excavating for a water line is a big job because of the burial depth code requirement. The good: - Two hard-working guys dug an excellent trench fairly quickly, including a tunnel under our foundation. - The same two guys promptly filled in the trench and resodded after the line was inspected by the city. - They spruced up the place from accumulated yard debris after finishing, including much that had nothing to do with the excavation. - One of them came by on his own time on the weekend to check on how we were watering the newly laid sod after the trench was filled in. The not so good: - The plumbers had marked the path along which the new line would run. When Springtime's folks showed up later, they thought differently and trenched a slightly different path. They ended up having to do some extra digging to get back on the path the plumbers wanted. Although this extra work wasn't on us, we ended up with a bigger patch of new sod than we would have. Communication could have been better. The bad: - In the course of digging, two irrigation lines were cut. This is to be expected. Also to be expected is them repairing the lines. One damaged line was left open (not recovered with dirt and sod) in anticipation of someone coming by the next day to do the repair. Didn't happen. Nor the next day or the next. I ended up repairing the line myself. The second break was not even pointed out and was covered over. That break was discovered the next time we activated the irrigation system. We had another irrigation company do the repairs there. All in all, A-OK. The line breaks weren't a big deal and the trenching was done quickly.

They keep up with our sprinkler system (turn on/off and repairs), haul-off yard debris, and other landscaping tasks. I highly recommend using them for any of your landscaping and irrigation needs. Recently, Jack fixed the old section of our sprinkler system, which was a giant task. After a couple of days of hard work, we are up and running with an updated system and we couldn't be happier. We appreciate his diligent work!
