I cannot believe after being a Goldfish Swim family for almost 3 years and counting I have not…read morereviewed them. We started looking for a place to teach our daughter to swim when she was 6 months old. At the time, there was not much selection other than a few Groupon options with baby/toddler swimming classes at the "Lighthouse" gym or some sketchy lessons that always seemed to change locations at the last minute. I'm not saying people where running swim classes out of subdivision pools... but the swim lesson seen was a bit dicey. But then enter Goldfish Swim School. The facility is bright, clean and fun. The mascot, a goldfish named Bubbles, is everywhere with a welcoming grin. The pool area is 3 1/2 to 4 ft deep with a ledge on the two longest sides. The areas are blocked off by lanes that can be moved to fit class sizes and removed all together for family swim night. The water is warm all year round. When you enter, you are greeted by the staff. Sherri is a joy and I look forward to seeing her. There are dressing rooms that remind me of beach shacks and ample places to get ready for class and to dry off after. There are two machines that spin dry the suits. The swim teachers are assigned lanes and there are various levels of skill. When our daughter first stared in 2017, she was in a beginner class that focused on following instructions, floating, getting comfortable in the water, and getting to the side of the pool, and pulling yourself out of the pool. Teacher use ribbons to reward and encourage students. Students receive a prize at the end of class, ranging from coloring sheets, stickers, ribbons, toy Bubbles, and so on. There is a snack concession area. The snacks are reasonably priced and you can buy a punch card for $10.00. Students receive a special birthday present in the mail. There is a viewing are for families to sit and watch. After the lesson, the teaching visits with each students' family member to discuss the class and what they do well and what needs work. Many teachers really start to understand your kid's learning style and it is a joy to see the teacher and student click. Our daughter is currently in Glider 2 and hopefully will be advancing soon. She has also been in the jump start clinic a few times; a 5 day a week one-on-one class. I highly recommend this. Again, we love everything about this place.

TLDR: we're hooked!…read more Swim up over here and let me tell you a little story. Maybe you've been to some other indoor swim schools... so have I. And I thought those were great... but that was before I'd been to Goldfish. My little tadpoles are finally in formal lessons, and we are so excited to get to start here. There is so much focus on safety, which is like 90% of what I care about in a swim situation. Small classes (just a few kids per instructor) and then a lifeguard standing sentry right at the end of the lane. Other supervisors were also nearby, and it was very easy to see where the money goes: the facility is state of the art and spotless, and there was so much staff both in and out of the water. My kids loved it and didn't want to leave, but they've even thought of that, with a fun little prize to take when you leave if you're cool about it. Add in family swim night, and I think this is a place we'll spend a lot of time and money, and feel mighty good about it.

I have had my children in swimming lessons with OSA intermittently for the last 4 years (started my…read more4 year old in the mommy-and-me at 3 months old and then 1:1 at 2 years and my 2 year old has been in lessons since she was 1.5 years old). My oldest goes once a week and can swim across a pool without assistance (just safety monitoring). My two year old can float and roll onto her back, etc. She goes 2 times a week. Here are my opinions and recommendations: The staff are all amazing with kids. I have never had an issue. And my kids have worked with many of the instructors. Love them all. The prices are all online and the company is transparent about their prices. Honestly, though, for being 1:1 with an instructor, I dont think they are that bad. Only thing I would tell a new parent is that your kid will not like their swimming lessons for 1-2 weeks. They will cry. Mine did, a lot. Just give them time to get adjusted. I personally feel that swimming lessons are very important, from a safety standpoint... plus it ends up being fun.

From customer service, to swim instructors to my kiddos survival swim skills obtained, it has been a great experience. Survival swim can be challenging for kids (and parents) but the amount of love, care and intention poured into my kids, the instructors and lessons was evident. My kids learned a love for safe swimming and that is worth an immeasurable amount to us! We live far but believe the near hour drive has been well worth being at OSA! Would definitely recommend. We love OSA!

Pros: Steam room. Pool. Cons: Steam room that is never on!…read morePool that has 3 lanes which is usually full. There are also the annoying people who even with signed posted ignore them and take buckets of water to pour into an electric dry sauna. Seriously people, you are what's wrong in the world lol Staff is usually nice but often they can't really help what needs to be fixed at a management level. Management is often non responsive but I did get the attention of one person who one staff member explicitly decided that he couldn't stand and was a total b^*%#. When you have staff stating these things to customers, that is NEVER good. In any business. I was a member from October to July and I went an average of 4x a week. Maybe one of those times did I actually enjoy my steam room experience which is the ONLY reason I signed up. It either smelled of dirty feet, had black mold around tiles, or was just OFF. Now it's true I arrive about 11pm and stay till about 1:3am but that shouldn't mean I don't get to use what I pay for! They say they ha e no control over it blah blah blah etc. but I have lived in a complex which had a sauna and steam room and you could turn it on and off and everyone used it did just that. Gold's needs to adopt this because everyone I spoke to hated their steam room and most of those people were long time members who signed up for that reason alone. The sauna is always HOT and dry as it should be, but the idiots who bring food in there to have picnics there with random girls they are attempting to date is just gross. Take that crap elsewhere. This isn't some hippy retreat. It's a gym. People don't want to watch you woo some girl with pita wraps and drinks by the hot tub or in the sauna. *gag* Some of their equipment is outdated and some is brand new. That mixture isn't a good thing. The pieces that NEED replacing, do not get replaced. And the ones that are new, few people use them. If you want to just do squats and weights, they got you. If you want to shed a few pounds during 6am-6pm on some cardio class or Zumba, they got you. If you want to do a real circuit and use a lot of the standard stuff and have staff who can actually help you...that is hit or miss at this location. I also will note their roof is trash and needs replacing or fixing. Whoever thinks it's cool to have buckets all over a gym floor and in the women's bathroom - you sir/madam are a moron. The bathroom is usually serviced and is only done so by a male attendant. He's nice and chatty and I don't have any issues with him or that, but when he was on vacation it went to hell. Paper rolls were on the floor. Their was no soap in dispensers, you name it. It happened. So please Gold's gym do yourself a favor and keep that older guy on. Do not outsource to some random company or think it's okay for you to not service the bathroom when that one guy and his wife (who apparently cleans the men's restroom which to me is odd. Why not have her clean the ladies and her husband clean the men's?!) or kid are on vacation. Cause it's not. It's gross how that gym got in a 3 day period. I ended my two year contract because while I was told that I could use the gym membership I got at any Gold's gym, I was unaware due to their issues with the LGBT community in San Francisco, that they pulled every Gold's gym out of that area. So because that is where I live part of the year and was headed back, I canceled my membership. I had no issues with doing so. I wasn't overcharged or billed for the remaining portion of my unused membership etc. it was pretty easy actually and the online support I received was 3/5 stars. About the same as this facility. My only one real irritation was that I recently called as instructed to, and asked if I could get a two week pass as I'm going to be in town and need to stay active in the gym for medical reasons. I was told I could but it would be $55 which was damn near the cost of my one month membership WITH an add on! They told me a free pass is only available to those who have never been a member (LOL way to win back someone who was a paying customer), and that the daily rate was something like $19 and after 5 days it was $50 or the cost of a month. That is about the most moronic thing I have ever heard from a staff member at a gym. And I've heard a lot. Moving forward, I will not be doing anything aside a month-to-month with any gyms until I get a sense of what they care about and offer. This process was more of a headache than I had ever expected it to be. I wanted to give them a fair shake though, which is why I have like 35+ check-ins but never reviewed them.

This place is absolute trash. They charge you even if you cancel a membership and they kept…read morecharging even while they are closed in quarantine. They refuse to respond to anyone and won't get a manager in there to deal with customer complaints so essentially they are robbing people blind
